Great flavors! Awesome taste! I ordered the miso soup and the Alaska roll. It was perfect for me on my own. The free appetizers include a serving of teriyaki daikon, Japanese Coke slaw, and sweet potato gyoza(empanadas). The review is 5 stars because even though the sushi rolls fell apart pretty easy, the pieces were small and easy to eat in one bite. The fish and vegetables were fresh and the avocado was perfectly ripe. I tried this restaurant because it was within walking distance of the hotel where I stayed. I would have traveled out of my way for this dinner. Wonderful!

Not a fan. Fish tasted frozen. Atmosphere was dingy and smelled. Service was really really slow. The sushi fell apart easily. The extra star is because the spicy tuna roll was really spicy which is really rare.

I love this restaurant!!! Amazing food and service. If you like Nigiri… this is the place to get it. Salad and soup with lunch special were top notch. Going here again on date night Saturday!!! Can’t wait!!!

Yummy food and great service! We ordered a sample of the squid seaweed salad which was very yummy. Next we had the complimentary appetizer sampler: tempura sweet potato in a sea same soy sauce, pickled daikon, and crab salad… All very good… Got seconds of the sweet potato. We each had a onigiri with spicy sauce and salmon which we ate with miso soup alternately as instructed. Wonderful! The crunchy roll and Neptune roll were both delicious. The chef gave us samples of several sauces which we enjoyed. Highly recommended! Wish we lived close so we could visit often.

I used Unilocal to search near my hotel and the reviews on this restaurant were spot on! Best meal that I have had in a long time. I had the chicken teriyaki box with sashimi. They brought out a couple house appetizers that included a pickled cucumber appetizer. So yummy! Great meal! Great ambiance! Great price!

What a lovely little jewel in the middle of chain restaurants. Had the cucumber seafood salad and it was delicious on such a hot day. Will return, probably many times!

While staying at the Courtyard Marriott I noticed this place literally next door to the hotel. Not the authentic Japanese that I expected, but food was ok. Menu has plenty of Japanese choices — sushi, udon, sashimi & teriyaki as well as Korean dishes that I’m not as familiar with. Opted for a combination bento box that included tempura, sashimi, gyoza & teriyaki. The sashimi was delicious & fresh but beef teriyaki was a disappointment & tempura a bit soggy. Overall service was good, place not too crowded & food decent but if I eat here again I will stick with the sushi & seafood.

First they messed up my order. I also asked that my food not be spicy, and I asked ahead of time if what I wad ordering was spicy at all. They said no, but it really was. They were very eager to wait on customers, and they corrected the order. However, they food was cold by the time I got it. They are friendly, but I would say the food is not worth what you pay.

I’ve wanted to try this place for the past year, and I finally did. I regret not visiting this place sooner. The food is excellent, the service is friendly and the place is super clean. I want more people to try this place out, but at the same time I love that it’s not super busy. Sushi rolls– fresh fish and vegetables not filled with cream cheese. Sunomono Salad– perfectly seasoned and delicious. Miso Soup– seconds, please?! The menu is extensive, so I’ll be back soon.

I’ve been going to this place for years. I’ve lived in McAllen, Austin, and Houston. This place is my favorite. By far. Sushi & Sashimi is top notch. Try the Kalbi beef if you’re not a sushi fan. Service has always been great for me. Rolls are huge and are a great deal for the price. My go-to is the tropical roll, but the Okinawa is a close second. I would encourage anyone to eat here. Become a regular and they’ll treat you like family.

Down from Houston to do a project and staying at the Marriott. Me and co worker decided to give the place a try and were pleasantly surprised! Miso soup is not for everyone it has Korean spices and it is very very good it’s just different from what you normally get. Ok appetizers. We ordered the sunomono moriwase(we added mixed fish to this salad). Damn good would order it again. Also had mixed sashimi as well as caterpillar roll and Alaska roll. All very very fresh and extremely well prepared. Jennifer was our server and she was at our table within seconds of us arriving Maybe the population down here is a little bit uneducated when it comes to a good sushi restaurant. Both me and my coworker however are not. Having been to uchi many times and other«high end» restaurants I have to say this one is very very very good. Glad I ignored the other reviews.

Yasuke is my go-to sushi restaurant in the Valley. On most of my trips here, I stay at Staybridge Suites, which is just a block from the restaurant. I like to claim that my walk to and from the restaurant burns off my dinner calories. Yasuke is tucked away in a small strip off 10th and Wichita(same entrance to the I believe Marriott hotel). Is Yasuke«to die for» sushi? No. It’s decent sushi for a decent price. The hostess is always friendly, the service is reliable, and the food is perfectly ok. You usually get a type of small appetizer gratis prior to your meal. The menu includes a variety of Asian cuisine… sushi, Korean, Japanese and maybe even a little Chinese. As I only eat the rolls, I can’t speak to the full menu. Yasuke’s is reasonably decorated in a typical American sushi styled décor. I would assume it’s mostly frequented by business travelers, and often of the Asian persuasion, but I have seen all ethnicities represented.
