Great place, awesome food and excellent customer service. Bring it home once a week.

Terrible customer service. Did online ordering, got there at the time give online and there was no line but they still hadn’t even pulled my order. I had ordered a baked potato with butter, cheese and sour cream. I got a tiny plastic container wth hardly any cheese, 1 pat of butter and a thing of sour cream. You know the little potatoes at Wendy’s? It wouldn’t have taken care of half of one of those. They also didn’t check my card or ID, so I’m sure identity theives have a field day at this location.

I was out running errands wanted to grab a quick dinner that was not fast food. I’d been watching some Food Network shows, craving some bbq. Figured ribs and I could take leftovers for my dogs. There was a lot of families there. Crowd, a good sign. I was so excited the Mexican guy had just sliced open a fresh rack. Yay. None of the sides looked appealing so I went with green beans and potatoes au gratin and it comes with a roll. With a drink it was $ 17. Yikes. The ribs were disappointing. The fresh ribs had the texture like it had been boiled rather than smoked. The fresh ones he gave me hid the ones below which were the leftovers ends from the prior rack that was like jerky in taste and texture. Au gratin was nasty. Really tasty potatoes covered in that nasty cheese sauce that tasted like it was out of a box. The green beans were good. These are Southern green beans so they’re a strange hue because they’ve been cooked to death. I ate a lot of the green beans to tide me over. And left the rest of my meal. I wouldn’t give those ribs to my dog.

I keep hearing that Texas and bbq go hand in hand and I want to believe it, I really do. However, this is the second bbq place I have tried and I have yet to have anything that would even beat the northeast US and that is not hard to do. I don’t get it. Please help me and tell me where I can find 4 or 5 star bbq in the north dallas, plano, McKinney area. I had the brisket, sausages and beans. I mean I cant believe this is what texas bbq is supposed to be about. Both this place and at the hard 8 the brisket was so overcooked, dry and dead, I know that ain’t what good brisket is supposed to be about. I also had the smoked sausages. Actually the sausages were quite fair(at best). The sauces can be beaten by good store made sauces — boring. I don’t even want to elaborate too much except to say two more things, 1, This place is definitely a FTLT(first time last time) 2. This place cant exemplify what texas bbq is about. Lord please say it ain’t so.

I’ve gone to this location on several occasions, every time I’m disappointed. I keep going because its so conveniently located, but have had my fill and won’t be back. Without fail they forget to add something as simple as pickles, BBQ sauce, or sour cream – even if you explicitly ask for it. Aside for this, the food is not tasty especially considering the price. Today, I got brisket, beans, and potato salad… not to be overly harsh but it smelled like dog food. Do yourself a favor and go to Rudy’s, which is consistently good and a good value.

I have tried this particular location on multiple occasions and it is the worst Dickeys that I have been to. The meat is always dried out and the sides are grossly over done. I would drive across town to go to another location and avoid this one.

Extremely poor customer service. They rang up different food from what I ordered. The girl was annoyed when I told her that wasn’t what I had. She said they were having computer problems and said«don’t worry about it, the amount is right». There was a line behind me so I didn’t want to argue with her. I did ask if she would ring up the correct food & she said«it’s too late» & rolled her eyes at me. When I got home I realized they left out the child’s plate. I went back &‘told them & they tried to charge me again. I told her she already charged me but since she wouldn’t redo the order it doesn’t show on the receipt. She looked at me and said«just take your food & go». I would NEVER recommend this place. Now I know why there very few people that go there.

Very disappointing place for BBQ. The food was not real good. It is almost a buffet style, where you get your own sides. The beef was not well smoked… very average. The crowd looked like people that were kicked out of Walmart.

This location is just better. Not sure why the bad reviews. Bbq is usually inconsistent and maybe that has something to do with it. Tonight was great! Food was fresh and the manager came around making sure all was good. The daily specials here allow for cheap eating. I will be back!

Very very poor customer service. I have never eaten here and was very confused regarding the menu. The employee just stared at me when I asked for help regarding the menu. The food was just okay. I will not be back.

I ordered the manager special which consisted of sausage, pulled pork and two sides. What I received was old discolored sausage and dried out pork that look like it was sitting out all day. I see why it was a manager special because he wanted to get rid of it! I wish I could give it a negative star.

Beware that the different locations of Dickeys can charge vastly different prices for the same orders(especially the large orders like the family packs). DON’T MAKETHESAMEMISTAKETHAT I DID: Go online and look at the menu prices for the different locations near you and choose accordingly. The McKinney location charges 20% higher than other locations.

Came here a long time ago and didn’t care for it, however, the last couple of visits to different Dickey’s have been very positive. The sausage and brisket have been very tasty and I really like the original BBQ sauce.

Food is O.K., but pricey. $ 5.50 sandwich. Add a side or 2 and a drink and your looking at $ 11 or $ 12 for the meal… For this price, it better be outstanding. The meat is O.K. barely smokey enough to be called BBQ. The meat portions are nowhere near as big as Rudy’s, and the sides look like they are poured from # 12 Gallon sized cans and heated. The atmosphere is too dark and feels unclean. I didn’t see any roaches to share my meal with the last time there, but they could have been lurking in the shadows. BBQ sauces were good and the variety should be good for all. Mild was mild, up through the Hot being fairly spicy. This location served breakfast for a short time, and had the BEST egg and sausage tacos I have ever had. Fresh scrambled eggs and sliced link beef dinner sausage with a light sprinkle of shredded cheddar. Really tasty!.. I wish they still served these!!! Went back w few weeks later and I got eggs and this time the sausage was breakfast variety. Wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t a Wow!, like the other one was. Rud’y and Hutchin’s Sandwiches are $ 4.99.

My husband and I decided to try this place since it’s near our apartment. It smelled really good outside the restaurant when we were walking up. It’s just too bad that the BBQ didn’t taste as good as it smelled. My husband and I both ordered the brisket. The brisket was so dry that I tried to put extra BBQ sauce to help it out. That was a fail. There was no true seasoning or flavor to it. The baked beans were just strictly ok. I don’t think we will be dining here again.

I’ve given this place 2 chances, as it’s the only barbecue place close to my home but I jst can’t anymore after tonight. The beef is so tough and DRY! It doesn’t taste like barbecue. I picked all the meat out of my potato cause I would have been chewing for days. And the chicken is bland and also DRY. I guess I’ll just have to drive way to South Dallas for some real barbecue

So good! And the folks there are really friendly. One star taken off for putting me in a food coma for 8 hours.

I used to like coming to this place, until they hired some sweaty man to chop the meat. It really looks like he’s sweating all over the meat! They REALLY like to nickle and dime you also. I’m really not as big of a fan as BBQ as I thought I was… either that, or Dickey’s(to be fair, THIS location) ruined it for me.

I am not a fan of the typical Texas Bar B Q place as the people don’t really bar b q their meats outside using real wood. I will make an exception though for this Dickie’s. It is a good location, the service is good and the food is very good. Just had the sliced beef which was moist with an excellent flavor. Added two side. Their fried okra is one of the best around and it’s self serve so you can really fill your plate up and then I added the potato casserole. It is not really a casserole but rather mashed potatoes so I go to the bar and add green onions, bacon bits and butter and I have a dish that is excellent. When you finish with your meal there is free soft serve ice cream. The restaurant is laid out well so it’s not just one big open room. We noticed a lot of customers with take outs. The place was busy during our entire dining hour.

It’s not real BBQ. I would be shocked if there was smoke going on anything. Tried the banana pudding this time, and smoked sausage that I didn’t even know was what I’d ordered. Also some slaw and brisket. That banana pudding was a disgrace to the South. I ought to give one star JUST for THAT. If you have a taste for BBQ with no other options, then this might suffice for like 5 min. Aside from that, me thinks not.
