It’s not great but not bad either. I’ve eaten here more then 10 times and never been sick from the food. Could use a face lift kinda run down. Could use some more choices of food. If your a picky eater stay away. I always eat here when getting my oil changed at sears but never come here to eat other wise.

The food here is not special but it is a buffet. Only thing I have to tell any one writing a review is that people are still eating here mind you the price for a lunch is hecka cheaper than any other buffet in town. Plus you are in the mall so yes it will keep going and keep getting busy because it is not about people writing this review it is those who have been the patrons to this place that matter. They like the food and for me it is standard buffet nothing that stands out. The food is so so but definitely not spoiled like another person reviewed it as that is not what it was it looks spoiled. Anyways the place is old wish they change the color of the place. I did not see any roaches or insects so they are keeping the place clean enough. Now as far as haters the place do not serve amazing people or rich people so yes this is only for those who can afford a soso if not editable enough food for the day. I am sorry people expect an incredible experience at a buffet but let’s keep it real no buffet is really incredible they all taste about exactly the same. If you want a cheap buffet that is close to the mall. This is a place you should go to granted the food choices is small but it is not spoiled. I would only recommend this place if you are in a budget around town. Other than that the place is attach to the mall and if you care less for buffet there is a panda express and sansei restaurant inside the mall.

I don’t understand how this place is still in business. The service is horrible! The waiter said we could sit anywhere while he was playing a game on his phone. He didn’t even bother to look at us in the eyes. The food also is really gross like if I had the choice of eating gas station food and peking smorgi I would choose the food from the gas station. I was terrified after eating a bite from their buffet. The restaurant is also very dirty. When my boyfriend and I sat there were 3 tables that were not cleared and the dirty dishes sat there the whole time we were there. I didn’t even finish my first plate that I got. I wish they would just close down or find a new chef because their food is gross and their restaurant is unsanitary. I will never return to this place ever again.

So bad. The food we attempted to eat was spoiled and the place was so dirty. It was great at one time, but not now. Take your time and go somewhere safer in Merced sorry but this had to be put!

Oh where do I start. 1st of all I am sitting in Peking smorgi writing this review… NOT eating. I like food… a lot, but after two bites and a peek(ing hahaha) of the buffet I just could not continue. This is my husband’s choice for his birthday lunch so here I sit. The food is cold, it’s sitting in the buffet congealed. As I scooped cold chow mein on to my plate I looked up to see a man in the kitchen eating a chicken wing. I’m assuming he’s the chef? I don’t know how many health codes that violates. I stuck to meatless options as I figure the food poisoning will be minimal. I took a bite of greasy cold chow mein — no bueno. I ate a couple of spring rolls and onion rings and I’m done! There’s a ‘desert bar’ with a cheese cake that looks about a week old. On top of the cold gross out food, the place itself is totally run down. The carpets are not vacuumed — I’m looking at old smooshed rice in the carpet. Walls are dirty, wallpaper peeling, tables are old and run down. This was probably a nice place in its day… unfortunately it’s day is over. I’m shocked this place hasn’t met its demise yet. The location is only thing it has going for it. If you are at the mall and craving Chinese food hit the food court — though not authentic you might not end up with food poisoning.

i have been going here since I was little. They always have the same food, but I enjoy it. This is the place where I always get my Wonton soup :)

I’m shocked this place has survived so long. The food is terrible, but someone must like it.

Wow this place still exists? I remember coming here with my uncle back in 1990 when I was a child of ten years old. This is because his girlfriend Kia was the daughter of the owner. There were a bunch of Laotian people working in the back making all of the chinese dishes. As a kid I was a picky eater and all I ate there was the fried rice and fried chicken. I’m sure now they have all sorts of great dishes

A subpar place to eat, but not too many descent places to eat on the mall. They have a small selection, and the flavors are just not there. I think it’s better then the«Chinese» place across the way on the mall, if I want Chinese food while shopping at the mall I’ll eat at Peking rather than there. The restaurant it self is very old, under maintained and the tables, chairs, and booths, carpet and flooring are worn out. The place is very dimly lit and doesn’t feel too inviting. The service is lacking, meaning your dirty plates will stack up before a busboy(or bus person) will take the off your table. The price can’t be beat on the mall for the amount of food compared to the price. Not the best Chinese food but if your shopping on the mall and craving Chinese go to Peking Smorgi, not to the«Bear depressed»

This place was pretty good. I went once with a boyfriend and we had lunch. The chow mein and the orange chicken could’ve been better but other than that it was a pretty good place. I might return again some other time.

This small buffet is a Hmong-owned and is jointed to the local Merced Mall. The environment is usually dimmed, however they are usually busy-of course it’s by the mall. Once you pay, you can go sit anywhere and do whatever. The busboys are always around, but hardly pick up your empty plates. This place attempts to make Chinese dishes such as chow mein, fried rice and wonton soup, which definitely does not even taste like what real Chinese food is, it’s edible and you do taste some Asian flavors. The price is cheap $ 7.75 for lunch, and I believe dinner is $ 9.95. Overall, this place is alright.
