Great food and excellent customer service. The employees were nice and friendly. Highly recommended to those who enjoy great food with their families.

I keep wanting to like this place. Food is mediocre at best. Not bad if you go during the day, but dinner just gets ridiculous. Food just gets worse and worse as the day goes on. Cleanliness has just steadily fallen downhill. You can see it in the bathrooms and on the floors and carpets. And to top it all off I just ate there for the last time… FOODPOISONING! Spent the whole evening sick. Thanks a ton guys. I think the only reason they are open is because they one of the only buffets left in this town. Overall would not recommend to anyone.

Great food, good price, and awesome variety for an ayce buffet. Sushi, various seafood, meats that they grill for you(Korean BBQ, beef, etc.) and the list goes on. Know what you’re getting into though; I didn’t go in with ultra high expectations since it’s an ayce Asian-American fusion type buffet. But was pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere and food. I went in for dinner on a weekend for ~$ 12. Lunch, esp on weekdays is even cheaper at ~$ 8.

I have eaten there 3 times! first time so so… but they were new so I was hoping for better the second it actually was worse way worse… so years later had to give it another shot because food selection in Merced is tough that was it for me dirty gross!!! Honestly I get all the bad reviews ! A good review of this place baffles my mind but to each their own and everyone has different taste.

Never again will I go there. The food is cold, service was awful, and things weren’t clean. I had to ask for a new plate and silverware.

Ok so I’ve been to this place a couple times now in the past year so I think it’s finally time for me to write a review. First off, let me just say this place is one of the only 3 buffets in Merced therefore, people don’t have much to work with which is probably the reason why it’s always so busy here. This place has a wide selection of food however, it’s not the best quality so I would advise those who are afraid of unsanitary places to not go here because this place has been known to not have the cleanest food or tables. With that being said, there are still a little bit of pros to this place which is that it’s cheap to eat here. Although their food isn’t the best quality, the price of $ 10 – 12 per person is very much worth it, so if you’re hungry and broke, this place may be the place for you.

If you want to try the food quality and selection, just go in alone one day and ask for a ToGo box… it’s $ 3.49/lb before 3:30pm and $ 4.49 after 3:30pm… that’s crazy cheap even for a Chinese buffet. Then you can’t complain about wasting money by taking your entire family there without trying it out first. That said: Pros: Affordable, especially during weekday lunch hours(see their website menu for prices). Large food selection. Seems to be replaced constantly. Large selection of meat/protein items. Sure some may not be all that good, but given their large selection of food, you’ll find things you’ll end up liking. That’s probably the best pro of this buffet(more items than HomeTown). Lots of seating. Even during a busy holiday there was no line. Cons: Some of the waitresses seem a bit rude. On the other hand, some are really nice and courteous(we had two). Maybe it’s just cultural differences. But they should at least ask if you’re done with the plate before they just take it away without saying a word. Cleanliness. While the tables and restaurant in general looked clean overall, I did notice some of the plates and spoons had remaining food spots on them… kinda like when you just throw something in the dishwasher without presoaking or prewashing. Not a huge deal for me(just grab another one) but if a picky customer goes in and sees that, chances are they won’t return no matter how good the rest of the experience was. Tell the dishwasher if those dishes and utensils don’t look like new, to keep trying. Overall, my family and I were satisfied. You just have to go in knowing it’s a budget Chinese buffet. You’ll find items you’ll like and some you don’t. Don’t like that food item? Don’t eat it and go seek something else — having a huge selection of items really helps you out.

This place is fairly decent. My grandson loves this place. I started going to Hibachi Grill because I can’t stand, Panda Express restaurant and that place is my grandson favorite Chinese restaurant. I go here about every other week. My grandson calls the crepes Chocolate burrito.

I think the only reason this place is still in business is because it’s the only decent«all you can eat» buffet in Merced. The food isn’t all that great honestly, it’s just like anything you’d make at home or something frozen that you can heat up in a microwave/oven. There’s an okay selection of food to choose from such as sushi(not too fresh), Mongolian noodles that they can make fresh right in front of you, American food like pizza and fries, crepes, & etc. The only thing I’d probably recommend is the Korean bbq ribs(they cook fresh in front of you) probably the only thing worth your money. The service is okay, except some of the cookers don’t speak English at all, I was trying to order something but no response(dumbfounded look) or just a head nod. Also recently I saw on the news people caught e-Coli from this place so be careful, just saying.

I love this Place. When I want the choice to eat both delicious fresh healthy food and a little of the«other» i.e. fried shrimp, my favorite almond cookies, ice cream, etc. Habachi Grill is my First Choice! You can’t beat the options or the price. The service is great and I am the Queen of Customer Service. If it wasn’t one of the Best Places to eat in Merced, CA or surrounding area, I would be the one to tell All!

My son really enjoys this restaurant, so we keep coming back. To tell you the truth it is getting a little better. The service is more attentive, and the consistency of the quality of the food is also improved. Still a far cry from the first few months after they first opened, but it is a better place.

Went here with co worker for a early dinner. Lots of different dishes to choose from. The Mongolian style cooking was excellent. I liked several of the heated dishes to like pork ribs, clams, & pot sticker. Lots of fresh fruit and sweets for deserts. They have this strange but tasty clear Jello. Looks like ice. I recommend trying it. Overall good deal for the price.

The food is always good. They have fresh crepes and sushi too. My favorites are the crab and cheese casserole, the spinach, the garlic green beans, and the steamed flounder. Can’t go wrong with the egg custard steam buns for dessert! The chandeliers are gorgeous

No good. I mean hey, if you’re craving an unlimited supply of mediocre foods hastily made with no real care for the product’s quality, then this is the place for you! It’s a classic buffet with all types of food, usually specializing in «Asian». To be honest, I’m never going to recommend this place but if people drag me along, I guess I could go. The place isn’t really expensive. The ambience is extremely dim and dull. So that’s definitely something they should work on. Food: this is where it gets to me. The steak is kind of just left out in the open so people can pick out which slice they want for the chef to cook but leaving the raw steak left out is never a good thing. Also, the chef cooks the meat on such a high heat that the outside is burnt while the inside is still so raw. Going on to the sushi, people expect that it’s not going to be the best because of the unlimited supply, but I did watch the chef make a few rolls. Every time he took out avocados to use, the flesh was always spotted with large brown bruises. Maybe I’m wrong, but I learned that the browning means the avocados are on their way to spoiling. The overall quality of food is just a no.

Decent food for an all you can eat buffet that charges only $ 7.99 for weekdays lunch. The selections is extensive, everything from classic american Chinese dishes, basic rolls styled sushi, hibachi on demand buffet table, salads, desserts, fruits, American Japanese food favorites and even American western food. The taste and quality isn’t amazing, so don’t expect 5 stars when you pay a price like this, expect a more inferior quality that is tasty yet not a gastronomic adventure. If your a foodie, this might not be a place for you, but for someone who is just hungry and wants a variety of things to eat, this is perfect. The restaurant is relatively clean– meaning it looks clean, but I’m skeptical because the kitchen area has a funny odor. The interior itself is not you typical buffet place, its quite interestingly decorated, but most importantly its not divey. I can’t possibly highlight everything they serve here, but some of my favorites was the chicken teriyaki, which was an excellent slab of just protein and the taste was good, the vegetable and salad table was also excellent and fresh with a wide choice of dressings. I do love the dim sum table, it has pau’s which happened to be my favorite and it tasted good, noting amazing or anything. The desert was really good, I was surprised. The layout is also very organized, with rows of 4 – 5 island tables, well lit and well heated. While the hibachi table was slightly a true off since the food is not cooled properly when raw. While the sushi table is nothing special at all, basic Americanized rolls sushi, don’t expect sashimi is all I’m saying. The service was prompt and water was always filled, and servers were very courteous. Overall a not too shabby place to have an asian styled buffet for a good price in Merced.

You can’t go into an all you can eat and have really high expectations for it. The first time I tried it I was really disappointed because I expected more sushi choices that weren’t all made out of imitation crab but for $ 7.99 you really can’t ask for that. Eventually I end up coming here every time I visit Merced. Merced does not have that many choices to choose from especially for people coming from out of town and do not know the area well. My brother recommended this place because most college students love the price point and all you can eat environment. The parts I like about this restaurant is the Mongolian BBQ, crepes, and the cotton candy machine. The Mongolian BBQ has a variety of veggies, meat, and seafood for you to pick from and the sauces are flavorful. The crepes and cotton candy are nice additions since most places do not have anything more than some pastries as desserts. Most of the time there isn’t too much of a line, but during UC Merced’s graduation we waited over an hour.

Oh boy… this is just not on my level. I kept my fingers crossed all through the night that I wouldn’t get sick. I don’t know why I stepped through the broken front door once I saw all the spots on the outdoor sidewalks where people have spit their gum out. OMG powerwash the front of your place! For that matter, powerwash the inside, too. I was going to give two stars because the teriyaki chicken and ribs were good but I just can’t get past the uncleanliness. Sushi is really nothing more than imitation crab rolls and the fish there was is paper thin. Dessert bar is sad. Was that BLACK jello? Oh hell no. I just can’t. I can’t. Never again.

Dim lighting, mediocre Chinese food and mediocre service means a no go from me. This place apparently used to be quite good, according to my girlfriend’s sister, but since then quality has gone down the drain with the change of management. The grill is quite good and is this restaurant’s redeeming feature. Most of the food I ate was sour or over seasoned. Price is way cheaper than most buffets but really the food isn’t worth it.
