If you are anywhere near The Bean, I highly recommend it! This is one of the best coffee shops that I’ve been to. They are so accommodating with plenty of coffee options and food options. Such friendly and personable people, too! The space inside and out of The Bean Café is very spacious and cozy. It has an artistic vibe and is very welcoming. I did order a hummus sandwich from there for 8 bucks, so pretty reasonable. It wasn’t the best sandwich ever, but it was decent. It did come with berries, which I was pleasantly surprised by! But the coffee on the other hand was wonderful! One of the best cups of coffee I have had in a while.

Great coffee, and every baked item in the case has been excellent! Their breakfast items and sandwiches are good, too. Though, they don’t make food after 3 pm, so between 3 – 5 pm it’s just coffee and baked goods(which are their best options anyway). Cool location and interior, too!

Been coming here for over eight years, off and on – it’s one of the most relaxed, cozy, friendly cafes in town, with reliably good coffee and free refills. I love the local vibe and appreciate familiar faces. My only gripe: the breakfast wrap has shrunk a bit over the years, the quantity of spuds decreased, the salsa has gotten milder/blander, and if the«cook» isn’t careful – which is frequently so – the potatoes arrive burnt. Blackened bits isn’t adding flavor; it’s adding carcinogens.

Great locale for anyone stating or finishing their day in Mesilla. We love stopping here every time we are in town. Great staff but acrid coffee, muffins were bland and smoothie was too watery. It’s a coffee joint but needs better coffee, disappointing

I love this place. They have fresh roasted coffee and the superbowl is worth the ride from El Paso. The Bean is a fixture for anyone who rides a bike or motorcycle for a good reason.

Perfect breakfast with fresh ingredients. The coffee is the best around. If I lived here, I’d be a regular. As it is, I’ll be back whenever I’m in town. Great, friendly service, as well.

Went here for the first time today and it exceeded my expectations! Cute little cozy place staff is super nice and friendly and food is great! I got the omelet with pesto, bacon, and tomatoes and it was very tasty! I also ordered a green tea latte which I had been craving and it was awesome! The toast even looked home made and it was a yummy side to my omelet. Awesome breakfast spot!

In from Arizona and needed a place to work from so decided to setup shop here at «The Bean». Had the breakfast quesadilla and a café mocha. Café Mocha was excellent. The roast was just right. Great bold flavor and not over sweetened. Didn’t lose the bean flavor under the chocolate/sugar.(Like some other super popular coffee shops.) Breakfast quesadilla was great. Nice crispy tortilla and great fluffy eggs inside. It came with a side of fried potatoes that had a great peppery/spicy seasoning. Finally the atmosphere here is great. One of the girls behind the counter is fantastic with the customers and knew most of them by name as they walked in. She definitely brings a lot of life and light to the place. The other staff was friendly and efficient as well. It is a hipster /retiree hangout and the best of both worlds. Cool spot to work from even better if you are just in for coffee and chatting it up with friends. The only downside is the wifi wasn’t working… So stuck using a hotspot.

Finally, a great cup of joe! I’ve recently relocated to Las Cruces and have been looking forward to an authentic coffee shop(not Starbucks!). My boyfriend have stumbled upon The Bean two weeks ago. We ordered two lattes served in a nice large mug. The expresso to milk ratio was perfect with the right amount of foam. We also shared a breakfast quesidilla. It was tasty with subtle hint of green chilies. It is served with a red salsa which is a smooth blend with a hint of spice and crispy, simple breakfast potatoes. The wait staff, Vanessa is always welcoming and seems to have remembered us. I am happy to add this stop to my mornings!

The Bean is under new management now, but I’m not optimistic about the longterm sustainability of the operation. The espresso drinks are good, but the new owners are very young – so young that they appear to know nothing about how to operate a business. Food is just thrown together in an unappetizing way in the display case; the music when I went in there was good music, but it was blasting, more for the enjoyment of the owners than customers. Worse, I noticed people standing around waiting to be served while one of the two owners went outside and smoked a cigarette and the other sat in another room and relaxed. Six people came into the establishment, looked around, and went back out again because no one bothered to greet them or offer to get them anything. The Bean could be really good, but it needs to be run by adults.

I was really looking forward to trying out the Bean of Mesilla. My BFF and I were driving through from San Diego to Dallas, and this was on our list for breakfast one morning. We each got a cappuccino and shared a breakfast taco and the whole wheat waffles. The tortilla on our taco was dry and there wasn’t much flavor to it. The whole wheat waffles weren’t whole wheat, and they were soggy! … and the coffee lacked punch. I wasn’t impressed. It’s confusing when you walk in and when you order, and the girl at the register didn’t seem to want to enlighten me, but you basically just go up to the counter and order something and they bring it out to you. At least it was better than the continental breakfast at the Days Inn :)

Just steps away from a predominantly tourist fueled area sits The Bean. While my local friend was showing me around the area I was ecstatic to find a local coffee shop that serves up great coffee without inflated«tourist» prices. The outdoor seating area was perfect on a hot and humid summer afternoon! Easy parking: Yes Large drink under $ 5: Yes Friendly staff: Yes Indoor seating: Lots of wooden chairs with plenty of space between tables. Outdoor seating: Plenty of shaded tables. Décor: Funky art on the walls, bright colors splashed throughout. People with laptops: Some Hipsters: Some Famous Faces: No Foam Art: No People watching: Decent In & out quick: Yes The challenge continues!

This is our kind of place. No chain store action here. Old but in good shape furniture. Friendly service, a wonderful menu for bacon eggs and more. The Good Morning Muffin would be a regular for me I lived in Messilla or Las Cruces. As it is we stop on our way through to this place every time we can. I want this place to be in my home town Thank you Bean of Mesilla, You are wonderful. oh yes — and the coffee is really terrific.
