LITTLE Sun of the Beach» Preis-Leistung, Top !! beim 2.

I would have given them four stars if I was rating my first visit to Bar B Que Beach. We first discovered this place when my boyfriend and I took a trip to SoBe two years ago. Back then, my food was delicious and my sweet tea came in a mason jar(which was my favorite detail of this place). Here we are, two years later, back at Bar B Que Beach and expecting the same thing. First, the décor has not change. It’s a super fun place to eat, kind of like the adult version of Rainforest Café. There are trees, plants, and lots of other outdoor looking scenery. There are a lot of beach-y things too. They even have pool tables to play on. They also have the salt and pepper in corona bottles, cute! I ordered the flank steak with chimichurri sauce, mac and cheese and corn on the cob. Corn on the cob at restaurants always disappoint me… idk why I get it! SOOO bland, butter couldn’t even save it. Mac and cheese was okay but not what I expected since the cheese was too sharp. ANDDDDDDDDD… they forgot the chimichurri sauce :(But the steak was nice cooked medium and juicy. It had the perfect amount of char, good bbq. The saving grace of my meal, THANKGOD. My boyfriend ordered the ribs, cole slaw and sweet potato fries. Everything was apparently good. The sweet potato fries weren’t very«sweet potato-y». We’ve had frozen ones from the grocery store that tastes better. Our meal was around $ 40, which was pretty cheap for dinner. HOWEVER… no mason jars! I was looking forward to this. It’s a little thing, I know. But it’s the little things. We got them in styrofoam cups instead. Boo, no fun. I would probably come back for the atmosphere, not necessarily the food. Bring back my jars!

The only reason I’m giving this place an extra star is because of the dry rub ribs. They were surprisingly good. The reason that I want to give it just one star is that this place always runs out of food. EVERY single time I’ve eaten here, they always have some excuse. «There was a party earlier» «They didn’t order enough food» «The cook died» It’s always something with them! I will never patron this place again. Just for the pure fact that when you arrive, you have only little pieces of the menu you can order from at any given time. What kind of restaurant is this? You’re telling me all the other dozens and dozens of places on South Beach don’t have parties, catering events, or IDK copious amounts of people who eat there?

Turn around. Run away! DONOTENTER! I can’t believe it took me so long to realize that everything in this area along Washington, Collins, and/or Ocean is a total hustle. My friend Cedric and I stopped in here for lunch today. He’s French and I was semi-excited about introducing him to barbecue. The menu seems pretty authentic and I was beyond disappointed when our food came. First, the server messed up his order. He asked for grilled chicken and he brought chicken and ribs. Yes, he’s French, but he speaks better English than most people I’ve met here. The guy gave him some trouble, but eventually brought the right thing. I ordered the Classic Wacked Pork, assuming it was regular pulled or chopped pork. Nope. It looked like what a dog pukes when he eats leftovers out of the trash. Big, slimy chunks of flavorless meat(presumable pork). You get two sides and I ordered baked beans and spicy slaw. The beans were blah and the slaw was just chopped cabbage and hot sauce(as opposed to normal slaw with extra pepper and spices). When we got the check I was floored to see that gratuity was already included for our party of two. I guess that’s a Miami thing. Where I come from you have to dance for your dinner and this was definitely not worth 20%.

Food is pretty good, I tried the baby back ribs and they were good. You also have your choice of six different barbecue sauces to choose from. nice. And drinks specials everyday.

The worst BBQ food I have ever tasted! I LOVEBBQ food and have been to several of these places around the country and I have to say that the food here tasted disgusting. I ordered the beef brisket with a side of mac n’ cheese. The beef brisket was mostly all fat, barely any meat. The Mac N’ Cheese was extremely dry. It was basically noodles with dry cheese on top! NASTY!!! My wife ordered a chicken sandwich and when I took a bite from her sandwich, the chicken literally tasted spoiled as if it were left out in the heat all day! I also felt very sick to my stomach after eating here. I am just thankful that I did NOT get food poisoned from this place. But, take my advice and go elsewhere to eat. The fact that it’s the ONLYBBQ place in south beach and that it was empty around dinner time, should have told me something.

Ate here a couple weeks ago on a Saturday night. The place was dead. I usually avoid places with no customers and I suppose we should have trusted our instincts. The service was ok but I guess that is pretty bad when you consider there were 5 people in the place. There was a guy outside(we were inside about 5 feet away) waving both arms trying to get the waiter’s attention. After ignoring my death stares this fucktard finally got up and came inside. No real point to this story other than the service was crap. They were out of 2 of the beers I ordered and somehow were out of pulled pork at 7pm on a Saturday. My wife settled on the brisket. I had some wings and ribs. All in all the food was pretty tasty in an outback steakhouse kind of way. I wouldn’t go back.

My friend and I visited South Beach the week of thanksgiving. We had plans for a formal dinner. She had lived there before so she was showing me around until we stumbled across BBQ B and looked at each other and agreed to dump the snooty place and go there. The turkey was delicious and had many sides. It was perfect for me. Beautiful woman great food(couldn’t finish way too much food) and chilled and watched the game

Was on vacation and looking for a decent barbecue in Miami. This place was very empty and what looked like the owner was literally waiting in the doorway for someone to come in. We sat outside and realized it wasn’t a great idea because 3 shady people approached us. One showed me a dime bag of weed to sell, the other two were homeless people asking, «Are you going to finish that?» I realize a lot of transients are in the area so that may be our fault for sitting out there. Got the baby back ribs. They were quite yummy and loved the different sauces that were offered. I have to admit, some flavors were a little odd. Ketchup flavored barbecue sauce? No thanks. the sides were nothing to brag about. However, the apple flavored biscuits were amazing!

I shared the little piggie plate which serves 3 – 4, but it was more like 5 – 6. It includes the brisket, ribs, pulled pork, bbq chicken, and 3 huge sides. We really liked the 5 different sauces they had at the table. The best was the brisket and pulled pork. The texture was like butter. You can really taste the smokiness as well as the seasoning. Some places make the sauce the star, but they really focus on the meat. We ordered mac n cheese, fries, and corn as our sides. They were all really good. Everything about our meal was perfect. The only thing we didn’t really like was the cornbread. I don’t know. It just seemed kinda tasteless besides the mound of honey they put on it. We all ordered the long islands. We all agreed it was probably the weakest drinks we’ve ever had. It was more like colored Sprite. The service was OK. Forgetful at times, but very friendly.

I’m torn on this one. Sweet and Spicy BBQ sauces, huge portions. you’d think it would be an automatic 5 stars for me, right? Ummm, not quite! I came by Friday night after the good-bye party for Jennifer, since I had seen this place right next to the parking garage on 16th. I’ll give them kudos on plenty of TV’s(including one of them showing a cop show), the nautically kitschy cute décor(life preservers, laminated picnic tables), and fake tree in the middle of the room. The soda served in mason jars also has it’s own appeal. For the food: I like the variety of BBQ sauces(as per my photograph) was interesting. Their«spicy» BBQ sauce, «Burning Love» was tangy and sweetish, rather than spicy to my taste. I dug it, and used it though. The Manitoba Maple, was solid if unspectacular — 3 stars. Original mild tomato was decent if unspectacular. Sweet Potato and Plantain Mash was delicious. The sweetness in my palate — sprinkled with what looked to be cinammon sugar — could be a plate unto itself and helped me to overlook the fact it was a tad on the cold side. My main dish of Apple BBQ Chicken had actual apple chunks, and it’s huge self was nicely lathered with BBQ Sauce. To borrow a quote from a famous chef, «Yumm-o». The temperature was even OK, and there was plenty of meat on the chicken. Why do I hold back on 5 stars? For one the temperature issues noted above. There are certain dishes meant to be enjoyed piping hot. Fufu(or what plaintain mash is known in Cuban) is one of those, Service itself was pleasant if unattentive. The place wasn’t that packed, and I am one of those people who appreciate attentive service. I had to wait til my soda was practically empty to get a refill. As I repeat, service seemed slightly off and when I got the bill, I figured out why… they charge the 15% automatic tip, even for a single diner.

We were exploring the neighborhood and spotted the restaurant and bar. It looked like a fun place so we made sure go back for food and drinks before we left Miami Beach. We went back to the bar on Friday night which also happened to be karaōke night in addition to the pool and beer pong tables that are always there. Everyone there seemed to be having a good time and the vibe was relaxed and fun. Warning: the actual prices for drinks are higher than what is advertised due to the 15% tip automatically added to every order. We came back the following night to try out the food. The baby back ribs and mac and cheese were fantastic while the steamed peel and eat shrimp and fresh vegetables side were a little disappointing. We would definitely go back for more ribs and try out the different variations and sauces they offer. We also met the Owner/Manager, Ernie, who was very nice and helpful. We appreciated that he was in present both nights we were there and was involved in his business. The most annoying part of the night was the group of 5 twenty-something boys who were obnoxious and banged their silverware on the table until their food arrive. We would definitely return to the Bar-B-Que Beach when those guys are not there.

A word of advice. If you’re somebody that knows a bunch of people, or you and your co-workers, who work around the area, and you have the bright idea to stop by this place with a party of more than 2 people, be prepared to face a ‘tard-cake the size of Rhode Island. The restaurant had about 4 or 5 more tables aside from our party, it’s not like the place was packed or anything, and of course the waitress managed to make a big ol’ mess of our orders. It was a mission to get our food out. The food is okay, not something write home about, and the prices are not bad, but the service was six grades below wack. Also, it always smells like butt or sewage outside the restaurant. There I said it.

The restaurant had an ownership change in 2009 and has not been the same. My BF and I used to eat here quite often but after yesterday’s visit will not return. They used to give you complementary corn bread for starters, not any more. Draft beers are $ 5.00 and $ 7.00 for imports, which is pricey for a restaurant. I ordered the BBQ shrimp for $ 18.99. The menu advertises the shrimp as jumbo but they were medium and poorly peeled. Flavor was good. The side dishes are so small that I would consider them more of a garnish than an actual side. My BF ordered the half and half ribs. The first order came out wrong with just a half rack, which here is basically 5 single ribs thrown on a plate that looks like it should go in a doggy bag. The second order came out with 10 single ribs that were dry and chewy. When you go to a Barbecue restaurant you expect them to know how to barbecue. The meat should be tender and fall off the bone. The waitress finally recommended to go with the baby back ribs, which came out as you would expect ribs to taste. That being said, you get a better deal at Quarterdeck or Nexxt Café any day of the week.

Woohooo! Yes, we did love the food at Barbeque Beach! What we loved the most that they are very dog friendly! For all dog lovers this is the place to go they have a Patio. Hmmmmm. The service was great even we where about 15 people. The food was served for everyone warm and delicious! By the way the Karaōke Nights are super nice. Thank you very much Barbeque Team!

I had a couple of solid reports about their pulled pork, and my wife and I finally decided to give it a try… holy jesus. Well I’ve had worse BBQ, and we are in Miami after all… but no thanks. Service is nearly hilarious… TONS of attention when you first sit down(we had 3 different people ask for our drink orders), and then after that you can not find a waitress to save your life, let alone get your check. I believe in barbeque and so always want to order the ribs to evaluate a new spot… I should have been smart and just gotten a sandwich. The ribs were greasy and just bad. The sides were actually a bit worse(we got the«spicy» slaw(gross), sweet potatoes(meh), grits(eww), and fried pickles(by far the shining star of the whole night). My wife’s shrimp were decent, but her place was dripping in grease and it was just a mess.

Hmm… yeah, not a fan. I heard this was a fun place. But the service was TERRIBLE. I’m not a snoot about it, but it was obviously lacking. The place wasn’t even full, and all the staff was running around uptight like it was packed. It took forever to get our side orders, our meal, and when we got our meal… it was luke warm. BBQ Beach, you guys have let me down: /

The atmosphere here kinda spooked me for a second — it reminded me of the Rainforest Café and I didn’t get that good of an impression from that restaurant at Sawgrass Mills. But it was still nice, and definitely kid-friendly. The«whacked» pulled pork sandwich($ 9) was good, especially if you slather on the Yellow Voodoo sauce(sorry, I can not explain this one). I also liked the buns it came in(it tasted like Hawaiian bread). The beef ribs($ 18) were huge, and filled me up quickly, and it was tasty if you slather on one of the six barbecue sauce available here. But otherwise, it didn’t really impress. Personally, I still prefer the ribs at People’s Barbecue in the ghetto neighborhood by downtown Miami(with horrible exterior and interior — downright creepy). But the ribs here were much bigger in bone-size(and more expensive). Next time I come here, I probably would order something else. The waitress recommended pork ribs over beef ribs. Sides generally are good. Here’s the breakdown: Corn Bread: Meh, I’ve had better, but it was complimentary. Macaroni and cheese was good. Apple coleslaw was good, but I’ve had better. Mashed sweet potato and banana topped with pecans was interesting — kinda too sweet for me, though. If you’re at the beach(or anywhere in Miami) and wanting a good atmosphere to go with your barbecue, this is the place to be.

As a born & raised Midwesterner, I love me some BBQ. How sad and disappointed was I to realize that Miami, and South Florida in general, is seriously lacking in the BBQ department! Yes, I know there’s Shorty’s(sauce is too Carolina-esque for my tastes) and The Pit(too far to go on a regular basis), but as I live on the beach, I was amazed when I found out that Bar-B-Que Beach was opening! I’ve been several times and each time has been great. It’s never been very crowded, which worries me, because I’d like it to stay in business. The portions are HUGE and come with your choice of sides. I’ve had the ribs, the pulled pork, and the brisket, and they’ve all been delicious. If you like fried pickles, here’s your place(theirs are the actual spears, rather than the sandwich stackers). Also, there’s about 6 different BBQ sauces to choose from! So no matter if you like smokey, sweet, tangy, or whatever — they’re a sauce for you to choose from! Contrary to the other reviewer, I’ve never expereinced bad service at this place. In fact, all my servers have been particularly good, and might actually have been from a state that does BBQ right(which is rare in any SoBe restaurant). And to top things off, it’s all reasonably priced! I don’t think any meal was over about $ 20. They also have a full bar, if you’re down for a drink with your BBQ.
