Brisa Bistro

Food was decent but pricey. Service was a little slow but the waiters were overall nice and accommodating. BUT we discovered a white gooey substance in one of our water cups and we did not see it until it was already half gone. We still don’t know what it was and neither did the waiters.

The good: the margherita pizza, sweet potato fries, and side salads were all tasty. They have a good happy hour from 5 – 7 on Sunday-​Thursday with $ 3 wine. That’s 70% off regular price for the house… not bad. I heard rave reviews on the Greek burger.
The okay: My veggie wrap was only average. The veggies were salty and the tofu was bland. If I hadn’t been starving, it may belong in the «meh» category.
The meh: the beer selection wasn’t great. There were 4 locals, but not a great variety of styles (a hef, Pilsner, IPA, and blonde), plus a bunch of big box beers. The waitress didn’t want to split our check. This seems odd for a large conference hotel. We — and I’m sure many, many guests — are traveling for work and need the checks split for reimbursement purposes.

Stopped by here for breakfast before checking out and was pleasantly surprised. Very bright and open space with a view of the pool, but not sunbathers. Why is that aplus? Hey, even in Miami, not everyone by the pool is beautiful and I don’t need tHAt view while eating.
Anyway, I wanted room service but wasn’t sure if I could get a mimosa. Boy toy meandered downstairs to find a cigar and stopped by here to see. He luckly ran into the chef who said «no problem, bring her down, we’ll get her a mimosa»
Begrudingly I went down and found out it was a breakfast buffet. I hate buffets! HATE. LOATHE.
BUt, i perused it, saw croissants, chicken sausage, fresh fruit, smoked salmon. Que?!
My disdain soon dwindled.
For me, I never pay $ 19 for breakfast buffet because I just dont eat that much. this time, I did. And it was yummy. Well worth it. Really not that pricey for a hotel in downtown miami. As promised I got my mimosas ($ 5) and when the chef saw us he was kind enough to send over a round on him.
