IMO, this is a slightly better place than Eno’s(which is the on Lincoln Road) and the reason being is the selection of wines… Cavas has a great selection and they are not crazy over priced. It’s very self-service and the mood feels very coffee house, but after a hectic week or a long day, this is the perfect place to chill and relax with a fabulous glass of wine.

This is not my favorite concept in wine. I do like the ability to taste a variety of things but the method is somewhat sterile. There’s not really much of someone getting to know you, getting to know your palate and suggesting interesting wines to expand your horizons. Furthermore, it gets expensive really quick. I’d really rate this a 3 as a wine bar. I’m pushing it up to 4 though because, in fact, it’s a cool place to hang out. The food is decent and reasonably priced and the crowd, when there is one, is pretty good. Espanola is a great place for a little wine boutique like this. It would be an easy 5 if it met more of my requirements for«good wine bar» status.

Cozy quiet chill spot for wine lovers. Huge wine selection. Basically you purchase a card with X amount of money, the bottles are rigged to machines all over the bar, you insert the card and purchase different samples. You can go around sampling all sorts of wines from all over the world. They also have a food menu with some bites to eat.

I had heard about Cavas from a friend who had gone to the Sunset Place location, and was interested in trying it. I went after a movie and dinner with my girlfriend, and we instantly loved the idea. The concept if great, with an awesome selection of wines to choose from, and with employees and owners all providing insight on the wines you are drinking. Had some great Pinot Noir, and good conversation. The setting is apt for a quiet romantic evening, as well as a good hang out spot with a group of people before heading to the club. It is a block from where I live(and where I work), and I will surely return. Another plus is the location, as Española Way is a great way to experience a little bit of a more mellow experience than the rest of Miami Beach. 5 Stars!!!

I loved this place. I’m so happy we came upon it in our wanderings. The concept is terrific for someone who likes wine and likes to try wines. You don’t have to order full glasses at full prices to see if you like a wine. Wonderful! I was like a kid in a candy store and my girlfriend was equally as excited and happy with Cavas. I just wish something like that existed here in Philly.

I agree with the other reviewers about the concept of the place. Another nice thing is the free wine tastings they have every week. It’s usually Thursdays at 7pm. Just went last night and had the greatest experience with the wine distributor herself explaining me all about her wines from South Africa, Cali, and France. The owner even brought out«pinxos», tapas basically, for us to sample for free along with the wine! I ended up purchasing one of the wiens we had sampled, my favourite out of the 4, at a very fair price.

Cavas is the ultimate wine bar experience. My cousins took me to this place when I was visiting them in Miami, and I fell in love instantly. I had literally entered wine lover’s paradise. The ambiance inside is both cozy and modern, and the wines that are offered seem to be of endless variety. We chose to sit in the cute little patio area outside, where you can lounge to your heart’s content, chatting with your friends, or people-watching on your own, but sipping delicious wine the whole time. They also offer a small menu of appetizers and entrees, the majority of which pair with several differnent kinds of wine. The first time we went(yeah that’s right, the first… and I was only in Miami for four days!) I had the smoked salmon entrée and it was gorgeously light and refreshing. The second time, my table shared a full-on cheese platter. I’m the kind of girl that loves her cheese, so paired with the wine we were having, I really DID feel like I was in heaven. You really can’t go wrong at this place. I highly recommend this place if you’re visiting the Miami area. Sigh. I miss it already… if you end up there, have a glass for me, will you?

so i won’t go through the explanation of how the place works since it’s been done a few times by other reviewers, but do not be put off by the whole card-loading concept. it is brilliant. we went there regularly, the place was rarely crowded but that’s kind of the point, for me — it’s more of a take your time, relax, conversate(yes, conversate) and taste a ton of wines type of place. the food is pretty decent, and the owner is very nice. we would take our dog and the chef often came out to give her a treat, which of course won us over from the start. another bonus is that if you don’t use all of the value you put on your card, you can come back another night and use it — good if you live there, guess it’s not so helpful if you’re a turista.

Cavas is a very unique concept. It’s like a wine shop, but one that features tastings of every bottle possible, without any type of assistance from store employees. As Paul W. mentioned, upon entering, you purchase a card — you can put however much money on it as you’d like. You’re given a wine glass, and can go around the store to sample as many wines as you’d like. There are 3 sizes of pours available, and probably over 100 different wines to choose from. There are all price ranges, and all varietals from all over the world. This is definitely a place to check out if you’re looking for a new favorite wine, or even just to brush up on your wine knowledge. Since it’s on Espanola, it’s trying to draw in a «nightlife» crowd, but when I was there on a Friday night, we were the only customers… If you’re out on the Beach and looking for a place to get your drink on that’s a change from your normal bar/club fare, check out Cavas!

This place is the shiz nit. Prior to going, I strongly recommend google’ing info about some basic wine varietals. It probably won’t make the actual tasting experience any different but it’s fun to try to impress random people with useless knowledge. Sorry college ladies… no Arbor Mist. Cool place, great wine. The owner is a real nice guy.

We stumbled upon this unique place while checking out Espanola Way after dinner one evening. What a great concept! There are about 100 types of wine available in all price ranges; you can taste/sample a 1 ounce pour, or have or a full glass of any type of wine you’d like to try here, all at the touch of a button. When you arrive, you purchase a «debit card» and receive a wine glass. The wines are in temperature-controlled dispensers which are located throughout a few different rooms. You can have a look at the different wines, read the description of each one and have a look at the prices. Once you’ve selected one to try, you insert your debit card, place your glass under the spout near the wine you’d like to try, press the button for a 1 ounce or a 5 ounce pour, and voila! Great place to come and try some wines to find out what you might like best before buying a whole bottle. Also a place to come that’s different from the regular bar scene and a bit unique. Tapas — type foods are available.
