This place is actually pretty great. In all likelihood I’ll never return, but that’s only because it would take me a month or so to walk there from my house in Philadelphia. A cozy and unassuming place with excellent food and pleasantly friendly people, as well as speedy service(we picked food up from here around on a Friday afternoon), and beverages that included beer. Were it not for the aforementioned proximity, I would definitely add this spot to my regular repertoire. We were staying a few blocks away at the Casa Moderna and needed sustenance, and a rainy day mixed with a lack of funds forced the Unilocal app to guide us here. Much obliged, Unilocal app. We got two sammies, a chicken parm and their version of an Italian, and both were excellent. The sandwiches came on a foot long baguette, and though I prefer a softer roll for my heros, it was still quiet good. We both had a half of each, but I really should have just eaten both because the over eater in me was not satisfied, but at least my hunger was sated. Of the two, I liked the parm best, but I always like parms better, so don’t think too poorly of the I-talian. The lady working the counter was very friendly, advising activities and events in the area we should check out before we departed, and cautioning us to stay clear of the area after businesses closed and the sun went down because the only folk we’d see would be in need of funding for drugs. Really a great place that I suggest you check out.

Free delivery for lunch. Some of us from work order from here. Salads, soups and sandwiches is what they offer. Yes, love me a good sandwich. First couple of times I ordered the turkey with brie on a baguette I really liked it. Last week I ordered it again and the turkey was not very fresh. One time I ordered a roast beef that does say rare on the menu in which it was not. If I liked chicken salad I hear it is very good, maybe I should give the tuna a try. I have not tried any of their salads either but last week I did order pasta fazoli soup and it was very good. Prices are reasonable, delivery is fairly quick and the delivery guy is awesome, super friendly. Good place for a quick fix for lunch. Only open until 3pm. Order by 2pm if you want delivery.

This is my FAVORITE place to order lunch for delivery(inside is cute too but I’m too busy to leave my building during the day). I LOVE the Chix Salad on Baguette. Great recipe and really good french bread. They also have the BESTFLAN in town and believe me, I know(I won’t provide my weight! teehee) I also like the meatball sub. If you don’t like alot of melted cheese, tell them in advance because they are very generous with it. I don’t know why anyone would ever eat Subway when they can have gourmet. LOVE this place… and to all of you that slam the owner, she is very nice to her regulars.

Good lunch place. Food is pretty decent. There’s a nice neighborhood café feel to it.

I’ve only ordered delivery from this place… The lady on the phone sounds confused/lost every time. The eggs come SUPER salty.(I’ve tried their egg whites, scrambled eggs and over easy) They are stingy with the home fries. But the coffee was always hot? Maybe this is a better lunch place. But I think I’ve given them enough chances on breakfast, so no more Manhattan Café! I’ll stick to Latin Café for my morning needs.

I’m only giving them an A-Ok rating because I’ve been there only once and it was very crowded. I along with 20 some colleagues went there after a meeting at the school board building at the recommendation of the MC Angie Y. I gotta say, even though the name is Manhattan, the ladies there were all Brazilian. Which trust me, I don’t mind, I love Brazil! So shout out to them. The sandwich I ordered was the prosciutto and it came out a little bit late but due to the ratio of the people there at the moment to the size of the place, it was a proportionate wait. The sandwich was good. It was in a French baguette which was really soft and yummy. They do have a big variety of chips which I myself, chose to skip only because I’m trying to be «good». But you do have a big selection of chips and a great variety of different soft drinks, including of course, Guarana(a Brazilian soft drink)! To put it bluntly, I wouldn’t go out of my way to go there, but if I’m in the area, I’d definitely visit!

Went here many times when I used to work at the Arsht Center. A.S., you’re really complaining that you have to get up and order your food and also to pick it up? Go somewhere else if you’re just going to complain. You didn’t even talk about the food, which isn’t bad at all. Anyways, as an attempt at a real review instead of a bash session, I had the special yesterday which was the Prosciutto and Provolone sandwich on Foccacia bread. It was pretty good. It had a little balsamic on it which definitely added to the flavor. The only downside about this place is the size of the dining room. If you go at the wrong time, it is possible to find yourself without a seat or in a bad spot as far as space to eat. That being said, if you’re looking for a good meal at a good price, you can’t go wrong eating here when in the area.

The place is good for lunch, never long lines. Dinning room is small but has a peaceful feeling. Try the hero, it’s one of the best Italian subs I’ve tried… The also carry DR. Brown soda which my fav, try the pesto chips there good. Seatting indoors and out door

We went here for lunch and will never come back. Nobody says hello to you. You have to go to the counter to ask for menus. Then you sit down, and nobody ever goes to the table to see if you want anything. So you go to the counter again and tell them what you want. Then, you order something to drink and they tell you to go get it yourself to the fridge! When the food is ready and they put it on top of the kitchen counter, the lady screams: Your food is ready! And you have to stand up and go get it yourself, too. It comes in paper plates. And I ordered the special«grouper» and it was far far far away from being grouper. My friend got some pasta and not good. My fish was not good. We both were hungry afterwords and of course, we had to go get the check because she would not move from there. Unbelievable. Really. Horrible customer service. Bad, bad experience. They were all Portuguese who barely spoke English. Ugh.

Yes, a great place to GRAB lunch downtown. The main word here being GRAB, I went in today and ordered a BLT Supreme Sandwich which was pretty good(wish it was toasted) but I made the mistake of actually eating IN the café. It was noon and the phone was ringing off the hook & the place is just SO little that there could be 6 people in there and you would think«MAN !! This place is crowded!» They only had one lady at the front to handle the lunch rush which consisted of people ordering togo on the phone, ordering togo in person, asking questions, ordering food to eat in, picking up orders, etc etc etc etc… ALOT to handle for one person, especially when they are SO busy. Quoted as being«THE place to grab lunch downtown». hum I think they need to add at least one person to handle that shiz. Well its close by school, easy to get too, I will go again and try some more stuff and let cha know how something more interesting than a BLT supreme can be :0)

This is the place to order lunch from if you work Downtown. It’s a sandwich, soup, and salad type of place — with lots of options. They are usually compared to The Daily but they deliver quicker and don’t have a delivery fee. The sandwiches are are ok(didn’t really like my Egglplant, Zucchini, and Cheese one since it was too greasy) but I’ll give it another try. My favorite is the delicious Avocado, Corn, and Shrimp Salad with an undescribable yet amazing house dressing. My co-workers enjoyed the Tuna and Chicken Salad Sandwiches also. The prices are affordable and the food is good with so many options.

This place doesn’t have awesome chicken salad like they advertise, but the BLT is pretty good.

I was staying at the Hilton downtown for a conference, where the lunch options don’t really abound… besides the overpriced but disappointing hotel restaurant and the BK across the street, I really wasn’t sure what I’d be able to find. I stumbled upon Manhattan Café randomly, and that was a good find. They served mostly sandwiched, but they’re made fresh and quite tasty. I got their«world-famous» chicken salad sandwich, which came on baguette: not quite sure about the world-famous, but it was good nonetheless(small quibble: I think the chicken salad would have been better colder). The place is clean pleasant, they have newspapers and magazines, and the employee(manager?) was very friendly. most sandwiches go for about $ 7 or $ 8, which is still a tad pricey but still reasonable. I’d go back for sure.

If you’re looking for a great lunch spot to pick up and take to work, AND you work in midtown-downtown…this is your place. the top selections here are their freshly made sandwiches(like their smoked turkey with honey mustard and cheddar cheese on a soft fresh french baguette).and salads(like their ‘world famous’ chicken salad.) They have plenty of selections for both and all are very affordable(prices usually range in 5 – 9 dollar range) Be sure to also try their soup of the day. Their asparagus and carrot soups are phenomenal. even the split pea soup is good. You are better off having it delivered to your office than going over there. Picking it up is kind of a pain since there isn’t any street parking close it. except on the far west end of the block. and there isn’t much available. If you have to park to pick up. try a block north on NW15th and walk it down us1. if you are eating there… you’re better off using the paid parking instead. great lunch spot! be sure and try it out sometime!

Manhattan Café is one of downtown Miami’s best kept secret lunch delivery spots. .I’ve been ordering lunch from them since 2002. Their soups are usually phenomenal. My favorites are definitely the potato and carrot and the lentil soups. You usually have to call to find out what their soup of the day is. As for their sandwiches. everything is made to order– their fresh mozzarella and tomato/prosciutto sandwiches are awesome as is their famous chicken salad sandwich. They serve their sandwiches on delicious baguettes that are just right. If you haven’t ordered from here yet, give them a try. You won’t regret it!

The Manhattan Café is a decent lunch spot to grab a tasty gourmet sandwich near the Carnival Center, lots of office workers grab food to go from this scrappy place which has been here for eons. I ordered the roma sandwich which includes the basil, tomato, mozzarella ensemble drizzled with olive oil and black pepper on french bread. The bread was crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside while the olive oil, salt, pepper brought out the savory taste of the mozarella, tomato, and basil. I will definitely be coming back here again, the only reason for 3 stars is you do have to search for parking around here, good luck! There’s a $ 5 parking spot next to it but you’re better off finding a parallel spot around the corner.
