Exquisite Italian food at a very reasonable price in kendall. Reservations are HIGHLYRECOMMENDED. I ate in on Tuesday June 14th for my Birthday and it was a full house. I had originally called at 2pm the same day for an 8pm reservation and they were already full(Mind you this was a Tuesday). They accommodated my party of 5 with an 8:30 reservation. From the moment you walk in the door you’re welcomed by the owner and friendly hosts/waiters. They made me feel right at home. The complimentary bruschetta was delicious. We ordered the Malbec and it was very good. I had the most wonderful crispy duck in a port wine reduction and fettuccine. The restaurant is a good size for its location on the small strip mall on the South side of Sunset Drive and 104 Ave. Fits about 60 ppl.

I don’t live in Miami but my company flies me down for training every so often. Everyone that’s comes through talks about this«Italian Place» — like«Hey, you went to training? Did you go to that Italian place?» I’m like«ok I’m not eating Italian at lunch» but one day I decided I just needed to try this place out since everyone raved about it. Oh my god!!! Best place ever!!! We got complimentary bruschetta and that alone was like WOW!!! I had the purse chicken and it was perfect for lunch. It was light and didn’t make me sleepy. However, I tasted everyone else’s pasta and wished I ordered that because it was the best pasta I’ve ever had in my life. Long story short– you gotta try this Italian place!!!

I’ve had the pleasure of dining here three times now, and each experience has been wonderful. The staff is warm and welcoming, the atmosphere is comfortable yet classy, the service is impeccable, and the food is absolutely delicious. I’ve gotten different entrees and appetizers during each of my visits, and have thoroughly enjoyed every last bite. Osteria Vecchio Piemonte has not only some of the best Italian food in the area, but I’d go so far as to say some of the best food period. Next time you’re looking for an authentic, Italian dining experience, check this place out. However, the restaurant itself isn’t very large, so definitely make a reservation before heading over.

We had dinner here this evening and we arrived at 6:30pm. The restaurant is in a strip plaza with limited parking off of Sunset. It doesn’t look like much from outside. Inside the restaurant is very small and has simple décor. It features mustard colored walls with wood accents; very intimate. When we walked in it took a few minutes to be greeted but finally a gentleman asked if we had a reservation and we said no(mind you… there were two 4 tops and three 2 tops available; basically, half the restaurant was empty). He was super hesitant to sit us and said one of his four tops had a reservation for 8pm. Really?! Stop talking and sit us. We were only three and surely we would be done eating in a hour and a half. After 5 minutes of going back and forth he sat us. Honestly, this was super annoying and immediately dropped my rating down to a 4… A few minutes after we sat down a server greeted us. He was very professional and friendly. He took our drink order and told us the specials. We ended up ordering an appetizer(Carpaccio), and they brought out bread and complimentary one bite bruschetta for each person. As soon as we finished our appetizer our pastas came out. They were amazing. I tried a bite of everyone’s and was extremely impressed. Soooooo good! For dessert we ordered a tiramisu with three spoons. Again, very delicious. The prices were fair. We ordered a bottle of wine, one appetizer, three entrees and one dessert and our bill was $ 100. We were also served in under 1 hour from beginning to end. I almost stuck with my 4 rating due to my first impression but they turned it around. We will definitely be back.

Times when I think a restaurant is completely perfect are few to none. Going to Osteria was one of those times. Everything about this place was catered to perfection, from the service to the food. Although the place is small, it feels cozy and warm. The servers are genuine, kind, and professional. They greeted us when we came in, held the door for us as we left, and made us feel like valued customers(which is rare in restaurants these days). Most important of all, the food was the best. My boyfriend and I both ordered the Chef’s Specials. The names of the dishes slip my mind but we ordered a lamb dish and a squid ink pasta dish. Both were phenomenal. The flavors were rich, but not too heavy. It was a perfect balance of flavors. The lamb was cooked to perfection. It was soft and tender. The sauce that accompanied the lamb was amazing, as well. If you want a real restaurant experience, Osteria is the place to go. Their service is 5 stars and their food tastes out of this world. This place is a gem in Miami.

Osteria Vecchio Piemonte is in the neighborhood. But that’s not the best part… This is a 1st class gem: fresh pasta, homemade desserts, great wine, impeccable — really, truly — service, from the owner’s shining example. The owner has been in the restaurant business for many years in Miami-area; thankfully he’s found his niche as proprietor of his really great restaurant.

My girlfriend and I decided to give this place a try. The parking there is very small, and when we walked in to the restaurant, the mood was very awkward because we stood there for a good 30 seconds before they seated us because the guy who saw us in the back just smiled at us when we came in and no one seated us or asked us how many. But besides that, the service and food was good.

I was staying at Baptist Hospital after giving birth and we searched to find a nearby restaurant to order dinner for my husband to pick up. This came up and we decided it was definitely worth trying given the many excellent reviews. Our review is solely based on food and my husband’s take out experience given that we had to order take out to eat it at the hospital. My husband said the people were very nice and they got our order right. Unfortunately, we were not impressed by the food at all. Perhaps for the area this place is considered five stars, but it doesn’t come even close to comparing to the Italian restaurants in the Coral Gables/Brickell/Miami Beach areas. I ordered the Caesar salad and pumpkin ravioli with sage butter sauce. The Caesar salad was no big deal, basically your typical Italian restaurant Caesar salad. The pumpkin ravioli actually was disappointing to me. Although it seemed fresh, the sauce did not taste right. In fact, it tasted more like chicken broth than butter sage. My husband ordered a pasta with cream sauce and bacon, which he also said was underwhelming. For dessert we ordered the strawberries with zabagione cream. It was ok but, again, I’ve had better in restaurants in Coral Gables. Overall, I’d say if you are really close by and can’t travel to another neighborhood, then it’s edible food and apparently the staff is nice. If you’re looking for a really good Italian restaurant in Miami, go try one of the many excellent restaurants in Coral Gables, Brickell, Wynwood, Miami Beach, etc.

Loved it! Hidden treasure in Sunset. The service was absolutely lovely, very attentive. The space is very small, so I’d recommend you make reservations if you have a party of 3+. The food is amazing, fairly priced, and simply delicious. The ambiance is warm and they play classical guitar music. All the waiters speak Italian(Spanish and English), so be ready to practice! I will be going back very VERY soon!

Hidden gem in Kendall. Excellent place to eat authentic Italian food. The specials change every day, but you will not be disappointed. Also, the location is small, the service is very good and I would call ahead. The staff was very helpful in seating us without a reservation, but people do reserve and the location is not big. Ambiance is very cozy as well. Food, staff and ambiance was excellent and I will definitely come back.

I feel bad giving them three stars after seeing all the excellent reviews but for me it was an average Italian Restaurant. My husband had gone a few times and was talking about how good it was that I decided to give it a try during lunch time. We order the Polenta as an appetizer and honestly it was average would not order it again. I order the mushroom pasta and he ordered the porcini risotto. Both were good but no excellent. I don’t Think I will drive so far just to go eat pasta.

Osteria Vecchio Piemonte AMAZING&DELICIOUS! We were recommended highly about this little hidden Gem! Well, I can honestly tell you that you will not be disappointed! You have to make an reservations to eat there. They are that packed. The service is wonderful, they truly make you feel very important. All the waiters are very friendly and ready to serve and assist. The owners Corrado and Juan Carlos were very welcoming and they worked alongside the staff. They start you off with bruschetta… omg it was perfect! Their wine selection was great… We order a bottle of chilled red wine. As an appetizer we had a dish filled with different kinds of cheeses, apple slices, walnuts and a marmalade with some toasted bread. Yummy! Corrado recommend several dishes… I ordered the Ravioli do Zucca Burro e Salvia(this is fresh homemade ravioli filled with pumpkin, ricotta and amoretti cookies in a butter sage sauce), it was exquisite and perfect! My husband ordered Agnolotti Piemontesi(fresh homemade agnolotti in braised beef sauce) it was delicious! Of course we, finished with their homemade tiramisu and cappuccino. They also gave us complimentary champagne. Throughout our time there, they would constantly come by to refill our wine glasses and to see how we were doing. While waiting for our bill, the table next us order an appetizer that consisted of fresh mozzarella ball with tomatoes, prosciutto and with balsamic vinaigrette. We couldn’t stop looking at their plates, lol. They told us it was amazing. The he prices were great and affordable for the service and food. We did not leave feeling overstuff or heavy. All we will be seeing them next weekend. Enjoy!

The service here is outstanding but they may have too many servers. They have one for every table! If they are all family, that’s fine but if not, their salaries must be eating into the profits. Anyway, to the food. Very soon after we sat down, a complimentary plate of bruschetta with really good cheese was placed on our table. It was delicious! For dinner we had fried calamari, grilled octopus with mashed potatoes, fettuccine alfredo with shrimp(it’s not on the menu), branzino with risotto, grilled skirt steak with vegetables(including potatoes), a pasta special which was stuffed with sausage, arugula & ricotta cheese, a pasta in pink sauce(also not on the menu), and another fettuccine alfredo. My son thought that his fettuccine with shrimp was too salty(and he loves salt!). The branzino was a bit dry and salty but the risotto was to die for! For dessert we shared a tiramisu, a limoncello cake with ice cream, a zabaglione, and two complimentary cannolis. Delicious, especially the zabaglione. The zabaglione is an Italian dessert made with egg yolks, sugar, and a sweet wine. It was like a light white mousse served with strawberries. Really, really good!

Despite my love of food, I am not a very adventurous eater and Italian food never seems to make the cut on my short list of regular cravings. It’s not that I don’t like it; it’s just one of those foods that I really need to be in the mood for but the mood doesn’t often strike. I first noticed Osteria after driving by it a few times since it is located pretty close to my house. My parents then raved about it after enjoying their 44th anniversary dinner there and a quick glance at its Unilocal reputation immediately confirmed that Osteria has amassed an impressive fan base in a relatively short period of time. It’s hard to ignore a place with that many positive reviews so I bookmarked it and vowed to try it soon. Whenever a restaurant gets so many rave reviews, I tend to inadvertently increase my expectations. I know this is a bad habit that more often than not tends to invite disappointment when reality can’t measure up but sometimes it’s too hard to resist and this was one of those times. I went into Osteria fully expecting to be impressed and fortunately in this particular case, I actually got exactly what I expected. The space is tiny with a maximum occupancy of 45 but the tables were spaced well enough apart that it did not feel like guests were on top of each other. It was packed when we got there and we had not made a reservation so I wasn’t sure we would be able to dine there but after a brief couple of minutes, they were able to accommodate us at a small but cozy table for two. The staff was extremely friendly and all of them were speaking Italian. The menu is in Italian as well but English translations are provided too. We were immediately greeted with a complimentary and delicious slice of bruschetta, water, and a basket of bread and butter. We ordered a bottle of red wine, a platter of cold cuts as an appetizer, and skirt steak with pasta as our main meal. The steak was cooked perfectly and blended beautifully with the pasta that seemed to just melt in my mouth. We finished off the meal with espresso and tiramisu, both of which were as tasty as everything else. The ambience was intimate and romantic. The service was top notch and the food was excellent which means that despite its Italian classification, Osteria earned a couple of new fans and a spot on my regular cravings list.

On a whim, we decided to take our party of 8 to Osteria Vecchio Piemonte. In Miami, on a Friday night, that is beyond risky without a reservation, but what is the worst that could happen? When we arrived, we were greeted by a very attentive staff who was more than willing to adjust some tables to give our party some seats. It was a small, cozy, but wonderful restaurant. What really shone immediately was the customer service. Wow! They were so attentive, quickly brought us water, recommended a wine, and spoiled us with some complimentary Bruschetta. The food was spectacular! I am a critic of Gnocchi, having grown up on some spectacular homemade Gnocchi, but this one was quite good. The pesto was thick, hearty, but not overwhelming. Don’t forget, once the Gnocchi is done, use all your bread to eat the rest of the sauce! No pesto left behind! Everyone in my party was very satisfied with their meal, as well as their after dinner Cappuccino. I could see this as a wonderful date spot as well, given the intimate nature of the seating arrangements. If you are in the mood for good italian food, with a great ambiance, head over to Osteria Vecchio Piemonte!

This is now my go-to Italian spot when I’m craving carbs. Let me introduce you to this pasta haven directly off of Sunset drive: 1ST: As you enter, you’ll be greeted by the quick glances of all the current patrons(so be sure NOT to do what I’d done and come in post-gym with the boy, haha, or at least wipe down and throw on a different shirt) followed by their super welcoming staff. FYI: Most of the patrons were dressed in blouses/button-downs. 2ND: While you’re perusing the menu, looking for the perfect carby option, you’ll get water ANNNND a yummy bite of bruschetta! Which is on the house(as everyone before me has stated). Oh, and bread! FYI: If you don’t have olive oil on the table, please make sure to ask for it because margarine/butter is such a *poor substitute* for olive oil + balsamic vinaigrette. 3RD: FOOD Appetizer — — — Fritto di Calamari: This was OK! I loved that it came with fried zucchini. Not too hot on the fried lemon, lol. We bit into a piece by accident, and the faces we made must have been wonderfully comical. The batter is yum — well seasoned and had a nice crisp. However, for the price/portion(or lack of anything über special), I think I’d like to try something else next time. :) Mains — — — Gnocchi al Pesto Genovese: If you’re a gnocchi fan, DO try this. You will not be disappointed. The pesto sauce is finger-licking good; they offer to add more shredded cheese on top(who can say no? Am I supposed to say stop? I wanted more! haha); and each little potato«dumpling» was so tender and soft, and sljdf;skdf(that’s what happened to my brain that evening when I had my first bite). Bistecca ai Ferri: The boy picked this, and the skirt steak was perfect. Tender, moist, and tasted delicious with some cheese(and some of my pesto sauce)! It typically comes with veggies/potatoes, but the boy asked to swap that out for fettuccine alfredo. :) Dessert — — — Zabaglione: The zaba-wha? That was my thought process each time the waiter said it, haha. But! It’s delicious. This is the dessert you see all over their Unilocal page with the strawberries in a custard, sitting in a glass. Everyone’s comments are always: Yum, but forgot the name. lol! I really liked this dessert, and it’s more than enough for 2. The strawberries were fresh and sweet, and the custard was airy(like an aerated crème brûlée) with a hint of marsala wine at the end. It did get a bit heavy in the tummy after a while, though.(Or perhaps I just porked out on too much gnocchi beforehand.) I also asked for a moscato, which was brought by after I finished my main(yay sweet wine!). All in all, this was a wonderful restaurant! The food was delicious, the service was on point, and I am running and CrossFitting all day, err-day, so that I can earn another plate of gnocchi. ;)

Let me begin that initially, this place caught my eye as I drove by on Sunset Drive. I made a mental note and thought, I must check Unilocal. Later that day, I checked Unilocal and was blown away by the reviews. Still a bit apprehensive, I bookmarked the restaurant and thought one of these days I’ll try it. Well, that day arrived. Since it was a Saturday, I figured, let me be on the safe side and make a reservation. Arrived a few minutes early and was happy to find plenty of parking spaces. Upon entering the restaurant, I didn’t think it was as small as some of the previous reviews. More on the intimate side but still, warm and inviting. We had a gracious welcoming and were immediately seated. What a great sign of things to come. We were initially served a small bruschetta piece each along with being asked if we wanted mineral water or regular water. After receiving our menus, our drink order was taken. We weren’t rushed and had plenty of time to review the menu along with being advised of the daily specials. I chose my weakness, homemade Gnocchi with a pesto sauce. My other half, the special, Lobster Tortellini. Let me begin with my meal; the gnocchi was made to perfection and not doughy at all. The sauce was a creamy pesto sauce that was delicate and complimented the gnocchi perfectly. I also tried my husbands Lobster Tortellini and it was also amazing. It is obvious that when they say most of their food is homemade, they are not kidding. We skipped ordering any starters to save room for the dessert. After a brief struggle over what to choose, we decided to share the Tiramisu. Again, it was light and yummy. The service was attentive and as I mentioned before, it was evenly paced from the moment we stepped in the restaurant. It is obvious everyone in this restaurant cares about their customers and it shows. I have seriously found a gem of a restaurant in a very unassuming strip mall. Step in and get ready to be amazed. I’ll be back, very, very soon!

This retail spot has seen several failed businesses, Thai, Japanese, and a few more, but finally here’s a winner that will likely stay. We went on a Tuesday night and the place was packed! As all reviewers mentioned, service is excellent. When we walked in, the owner asked my hubby his name, and when we left, he said goodbye using his first name. Even if he had to jot it down on a notepad it still shows he cares. As the menu and wine list is heavy on the region of Piemonte, we asked if he’s from Piemonte. That brought on an ode to the bountiful delicacies of his birthplace, and he rattled off«BaRRRolo», «BarbaRRResco» in the charming way only an Italian can. For appetizer we tried the special, sliced sausage from Italy on top of polenta with fontina cheese sauce. This dish is plate-licking delicious. For the entrees, the agnolotti with meat sauce and the fresh fettuccine with mushrooms are both bursting with flavors. I do find the fresh pasta a little softer than I prefer so maybe next time I’d tried the hard pasta to see if it’s more al dente. Their wine list is, naturally, composed mostly of Italian wine, especially from the region of Piemonte. The prices are very reasonable. An Aramone is $ 60 a bottle, and this wine, even the less expensive labels, goes for $ 30 or so. Other wines are about $ 30 -$ 40 a bottle, so the mark up is about double rather than the standard triple. I highly recommend getting some wine while you dine here. Not to mention that you can trust the owner to give you good recommendations.
