The Reuben here is phenomenal. The pumpernickel bread is grilled to crunchy perfection. The sauerkraut is tangy. The cheese is melty goodness. The corned beef is tender and juicy and not overcooked.

Meh. Ok not amazing. I had the Turkey Bacon with some avacado on it. I wanted to try something else around the area, don’t think I’ll be back. I’m still hungry

The sign says all sandwiches come with chips and a pickle. I was handed my order and found that I only got a sandwich when I opened it at home. Six dollars is a bit much for a grilled cheese that didn’t fill me up.

It was average for wanting to be an almost gourmet grilled cheese sandwich shop. My chicken and avocado sandwich was ok. The red onions kept falling out of the sandwich and maybe they should just leave it out altogether. My son’s turkey and bacon was savory and delicious. My hubs would rate his chicken Parmesean as average. Nothing spectacular. They threw in a pickle and to make it a combo they charge an extra $ 2.39 minimum. Unilocal offers a free fountain drink when you check in but I doubt we’ll be back anytime soon. I’ll keep looking for our go-to sandwich shop…

This review is just for the food. It really is just an ok grilled cheese. Not great, not bad.

We visited the Melty Way in Ft. Union. Their jalapeño popper sandwich and their chicken avocado were delicious. The kids grilled cheese is terrible, one piece of American cheese on super crunchy thick bread, big disappointment, we thought they could have mastered the basic. The lettuce on the side salad I got was slimy and old. The restaurant itself was filthy. The floors, chairs and walls were terribly dirty but the tabletops were mostly clean. Overall, two of the three sandwiches were good but I think this is more of a food truck quality place, not a clean, comfortable place to sit down.

This is the kind of grilled cheese of your dreams! I had the 3 cheese melt sandwich and it was delicious! The tomato basil is creamy and delicious with little chunks of tomato in it. The grilled cheese and tomato soup brought be back to my childhood with a grown up twist. Yummy!

This place was mediocre at best, totally over priced and really not that great. I was not impressed and definitely won’t be back.

Man I keep wanting this place to be better. They no longer cook the sandwiches on a flat top. They run them through a conveyer toaster oven. Cheese is barely melted. Bread is very dry. Price is still way too high, and now with vastly lowered quality. No wonder the place is no longer busy. Sad, but it will probably not be around very long.

I went here and got the turkey avocado grilled cheese, I have to say the sandwich was delicious! The service on the other hand was mediocre, the girl taking orders was on her phone when we walked in and continued on her phone after we got to the counter to place our order, she almost seemed annoyed that we were disrupting her conversation. When asking is for our order she mumbled, I couldn’t understand a work she was saying, she obviously didn’t want to be there.

I’ve been here twice now and I had the artichoke & pesto then the Parmesan chicken. Both were pretty good but I was a little disappointed in the latter. Overall I think it’s good but overpriced for what you get, which is roughly the sandwich, a pickle, a bag of chips and a soda for about $ 10. Two visits was enough to satisfy my curiosity.

It’s my first time here. Decided to try a gluten free Turkey Cuban sandwich and a cup of the soup of the day. Broccoli and cheddar, my favorite. This is a tiny little sandwich and soup Resturant. I think would be a great place to bring kids who love their grilled cheese and the even have a PB&J(grilled) sandwich! Yummy I will have to come back and try it out. Next time I will bring my son. He just loves his grilled cheese. I noticed they also have hand scooped ice cream sandwich! But now that I had to get out to my car for you not to mark which sandwich was gluten free. I had to return to the store. To ask why my sandwich was not marked as I asked when I ordered. I guess it was funny or something because it wasn’t marked. Seriously. Make me sick and we will see who is laughing

Have been driving by the place for a while now, thought I would give it a try! I went with the Spicy Buffalo Turkey and wow… it was awesome and definitely was one if the best grilled cheeses I have had. Definitely will be returning for another

I was really hoping for a yummy grilled cheese place with interesting flavors but this fell short. The presentation was REALLY lacking. Most home made grill cheeses look much better than places that received. And the flavor was just not there. I had the Hawaiian my husband had the Turkey Cuban(and he also has tried the classic). My husband said when you add the special sauce or jalapeño jelly it makes it yummy but he still said he could take it or leave it. I added jalapeño jelly and it made it a little yummier but it was still just ok to me. Definitely not worth the money in my opinion. It’s a bummer because I can imagine a grilled cheese place that was really good and special unfortunately this was not it. Even if some one else was buying I’d probably try and get them to go somewhere else.

$ 9.24 for a Ham & Swiss grilled cheese and an iced tea. I think for that much this better rock my world. Not so much. I can appreciate that the GF bread was pretty good… If it really was GF. They didn’t charge me extra. And the sandwich tasted good. I’m just left feeling like it was a nice snack. The Siracha sauce they have is also GF and really yummy. Overall though the Iced Tea tasted like water and the sandwich would be great for children. But would you pay $ 9.24 for a sandwich & watered down drink for your kids?

In dire need of filling our bellies the morning after the fourth of July my sister and I headed to the Melty Way for the first time. I got the Ruben in a combo and it was satisfactory although the cheese was a little too chewy. I had no complaints about my side salad and my sis liked her artichoke melt. The inside has lots of art and is a nice touch, kind of trippy actually. I don’t know if I’ll go here again but I’m glad I tried it.

Utterly Flavorless Grilled Cheese. I ordered the Classic Grilled Cheese. The bread was thick, the cheese was somewhat gooey. The problem was that it had no flavor whatsoever… perhaps this is a Utah thing but I expect a grilled cheese to be savory. I had high hopes for Melty Way after reading about it and seeing their ads, but I did not have a good experience. The restaurant was not busy at noon… surprising. I was also surprised that both ketchup bottles were empty at 11:58PM.

What cheesy brilliance. While I could not eat here everyday, nor even every week if I want to keep my waistline, having a «gourmet» grilled cheese on a lunch break was a fun out of the ordinary for my coworkers and I. We each tried a different sandwich(Tuna Melt special, The Italian, and Jalapeño Popper), and proceeded to share with each other around the table. The Tuna Melt was by far the best sandwich of the 3, and it is unfortunate that it is not on the regular menu. We found the Italian to be quite bland, despite it’s pesto-goodness, and my Jalapeño Popper was just like the microwave snack(as the name implies). What impressed me most was Melty Way’s commitment to keeping things local. The bread is from StoneGround bakery, all of the cheese comes from a local cheese maker, and the root beer in my coworker’s float is from Wasatch. Even the art on the wall was done by a collection of local artist’s in honor of Movember & Sons.

I was in the area of Fort Union today and decided to try this little spot. I have heard about it and have wanted to try it for a while. In this review, I debated back and forth to give it 3 or 4 stars. It’s good, but I’m not sure that I would take the drive from downtown Salt Lake to eat here again… and, I’m not sure that if I was in the area again I would choose this place over the competition in the immediate area(I am a fan of five guys burgers, after all). So, with all that said up front, here is my review. I ordered the tomato bacon grilled cheese(with aged cheddar). Three ingredients that I love. At a new place, I always order the bacon to determine the worth of the restaurant. If the bacon is the typical fast food flappy thin and tasteless, then it gets poor reviews. If it is thick and tasty(like the Park Café) it is wonderful. Unfortunately, Meltyway’s bacon was more like the fast food burger joints. This is probably the reason why it is getting 3 instead of 4 stars… bacon improvement is needed. As far as the cheese and the grilling(which is what this place is all about) they do a fantastic job. The cheese is perfectly melted and the bread is perfectly grilled. I don’t really understand the variety of sauces available but I was with my 7 year old nephew and he enjoyed dipping his kids grilled cheese into ketchup. Maybe it is similar to tomato soup. One issue I had with the kids grilled cheese was that they use American cheese instead of cheddar. I’m sure I could have asked to substitute it but I didn’t think of that at the time. So, in sum… this is a decent place. I love the art on the wall. They do the cheese very well. But some things are just not up to my particular taste buds.
