Been there several times, the service and food is always very good. They are timely for to go orders.

I always hated sushi until I ate here. I hate seafood even though I eat it to be healthy. They have an amazing vegetarian selection. The food always tastes amazing and the service there is always wonderful! They actually know me by name, and once when I called in an order they called me back to see if I wanted mushrooms this time, I didn’t. They’re by far the best sushi in town.

I love Tsunami! My favorite roll out of any sushi spot lives here… The Executive Suite!(Tempura shrimp, avocado, cilantro and spicy sauce topped with tuna, lime slices, masago and scallions then drizzled with habanero and eel sauces) I don’t think i have met someone who has tried it and disapproved. My next favorite roll is The Honey Badger Roll(Inari tofu, mango, cilantro and lime juice topped with avocado, tempura crunchies, honey, teriyaki and sriracha), I don’t like tofu either so it is saying something! You can’t go wrong with Tsunami… well maybe your bank account will go negative but it’s worth it!

This is my favorite sushi place in Utah. Great sushi rolls as well as their other items on the menu. Nice restaurant and location. The server was so nice and friendly. The sushi is always fresh and delicious!

This place was pretty good but I think it’s overpriced for sushi. Our service was great but the wait was long. I tried the sunshine roll and the Don Juan and I would recommend the Don Juan of you enjoy fried rolls. Their Miso Soup was a little too fishy for me. I think they have good sushi but there was better and cheaper places to get it in SLC.

This place is a solid Utah 5. After being spoiled by living in Cali for 3 years, I didn’t expect much when it came to Asian cuisine. I was just here a few days ago, and it was a great place! The food was awesome, and our server was really cool. I wish I could remember her name, because she was very funny and attentive. I’d highly recommend this place

The sushi is pricey, but totally worth it to me. Every roll that I have had is excellent, the fish is always fresh and I love that they keep their specials menu rotating as well. The nigiri is also fresh, nothing really stand out or exotic, but over all a really great sushi house. For those who need a little more than just sushi, all their hot items are fantastic as well. The ribs are nummy! Along with their sushi — I love to go to Tsunami for their lunch menu. Very reasonably priced — you can get a filling and satisfying Japanese lunch for about $ 10. Service is always great. They are very accommodating and friendly whether we are there for date night of if we have the kids and baby. Parking is abundant in the area. Be sure to call for a reservation on busy weekends otherwise the wait will be long.(for dinner) For lunch — I have always been able to get in and out with no issue.

I love Tsunami! Every time I go, I sit at the booths and ask the chefs for recommendations. I have to say, the Executive is my favorite roll. I usually ask for the habanero dipping sauce to go with it as well, it just adds that«special touch».

Don’t get any basic rolls. It’s a waste of money but the more expensive rolls like the Aloha and Executive are really yummy! I just wish I would have known the spicy salmon was so basic. It was all rice. If I come back, I’d definitely just get all fun rolls. My fiancé got the Chicken Katsu which he didn’t rave about but Katsu is Katsu anywhere. His entrée however did come with vegetable tempura, rice and 2 pot stickers. And for 0.99 he also got Miso soup! Service was great! We got our food super quickly. Overall, the food was good. It wasn’t super terrific, but it wasn’t bad either.

DTH roll. Rib appetizer. Ramen. Ahi Salad. Just to name a few of my favorites. At one point I was eating at this place at least 2 times a week. I’ve slowed my roll(haha!) there but continue to visit often to reaquaint myself with the deliciousness that is Tsunami. This place has stayed consistent while IMHO quality at the Sugarhouse location has declined. A good favorite and solid offering.

One of the better Sushi places in the area with reasonable prices. Always supper busy at lunch. Ask the server about the hidden names of some of the rolls.

Is 0 stars possible? Sat at bar, ordered soup, Dr. Pepper, Enterprise Roll, Terriyaki Steak/noodles. Nothing came. 20 minutes later asked if we could get the soup and drink. 20 minutes later asked if we could get some food. Roll came immediately. 10 minutes later asked for a check. Check included all four items. 3 items came late with multiple requests and one item(the actual dinner plate) never came at all. I asked the server and he removed the dinner plate. Charged for a dinner that was half-assed and incomplete. They actually have good food. The service isn’t worth going back for and our dinner and a movie turned into nachos and a movie. Not a great evening. There also appears to be some conflict between the servers, kitchen staff, and sushi staff. Needless to say we didn’t tip, and mused about how the server will probably whine about how cheap Utahns are. We often overtip, not this time. Sorry buddy, and sorry Tsunami.

Tsunami is a pretty average sushi restaurant in my opinion. I wont say that I was let down, but rather, I was left wanting more from my dining experience. One thing I will say is that the service 5 stars for sure. Our server was so helpful and really on top of her game which made for a great night. The menu is huge with a lot to choose from, almost too much to choose from in my opinion! When you have 4 pages of menu and an extra page of special items, it proves to be quite the challenge come time to order. We ended up getting a few different rolls ranging from your typical ones to the their specialty rolls. Nothing was gross, but nothing was great. I will add that some of the fish tasted a bit too fishy. when fish that tastes fishy, that usually means it’s not super fresh. Tsunami is similar to other sushi chains in Utah with typical prices and average sushi selections.

Great food, great service. You can tell that the staff is very well trained, and the chef’s take pride in their work. I always recommend tsunami to friends and family. I loved their steak with tempura veggies, delicious!

Great sushi Fantastic recommendations(the Sean Connery was fab!) Service was fast and accommodating as we were catching a movie less than an hour after arriving. Got the rewards/value card so will see how that goes. Will definitely return to sugarhouse location soon!

It was just alright. I guess sushi is sushi really. I had heard so many good things about this place my expectations were really high. I’ve actually had better sushi at several other places around town. The ambience was just ok as well Good but not fantastic. 3 stars

«We are creating our own health and lack of it through industrial agriculture, with its carcinogenic pesticides, insecticides, fumigants, preservatives, etc. We eat out at restaurants that care not about our health.» I eat here because I’ve seen the owners feed their young kids here, regularly. It has the design of an upscale national chain but they feed their own family here on any given day of the week and at any of their three locations. I’ve also heard that their kids have FATALLY severe food allergies. To me, this says that they have to keep a close eye on their ingredients and let nothing that is low quality or unhealthy slip through. That also means that if they say their food is «something”-free, then ITREALLYIS. I have members in my family who are gluten-free and allergic to peanuts, soy, eggs, etc. When we don’t feel like cooking at home(which is often the only choice for most families living with severe food allergies) we come here. And their prices are very reasonable for the quality that’s offered. Make sure you communicate to your server if you have any food allergies. These guys aren’t like the cheap restaurants who will just say whatever you want to hear to make you happy. We’ve experienced those restaurants before and gotten sick after our meals. Here, they take food allergies very seriously. Your food-allergy plate goes through 3 quality checkpoints before being served on your table. I know because I’ve asked. On one dining occasion, we thought they had made a mistake with one of our entrees but the manager explained their process to us. Sure enough, we didn’t get sick after eating there, so their process is solid. Tsunami is one level away from Disney when it comes to preparing and serving food for food-allergy customers. If you’ve ever dined in a Disney specialty restaurant, then you know that’s a high standard to live by. No, they’re not on par with Disney because at Narcoossee’s, the chef will come to your table and explain how your allergy-free meal will be EXACTLY prepared… but, they also don’t cost as much as Narcoossee’s either. ;) Bottom line, we feel safe eating here. And the food is really tasty, win-win!

Over priced for the same thing I can get at any sushi place in the valley. It was good food tho, I just have a hard time giving credit to a restaurant that can’t handle a group of 12 people. We had a birthday dinner here, and I think about 12 people. But it took over 1 hour and 25 minutes to get out food. I get that it is a big group and there are complications with dividing checks, but that should hinder the ability to serve food in a decent amount of time. I may give them another chance, on a Sunday afternoon, when there a likely to be few customer in there, and when I am eating by my self. But sadly the service guaranteed that I will never bring another large group to this place.

If you are looking for a group setting with lots of Asian options and great service… Tsunami is the place. To start, they accept reservations on Open Table. When you arrive they offer Valet right in front of the restaurant. The host greeted us and took us to our table immediately. So far I was impressed. The table was comfortable without being crowded for our group. The waitstaff was courteous and accommodated everyone’s taste and uniqueness. Then there’s the food… within 10 minutes we had appetizers and then the sushi rolls and entrees were rolling out. The salads were fresh, the Korean Short Ribs were so tender and tasty which brought out the flavor, and the sushi and the wasabi was so fresh and melted into the soy sauce. Overall, my experience was great, and I highly recommend Tsunami for a tasty Japanese treat.
