Consistently good vietnamese food. I can’t comment on customer service since we usually take it to go.

To start, this was the first place that I tried BBH and I did think it was delicious! There were too many meat parts in it, but I thoroughly enjoyed the broth … lol.(non-adventurous eater here). To me, the taste is pretty similar to phở but more meaty. The spice level was perfect! Since eating here, I have tried BBH at other places and they were too spicy. This place had a reasonable spice level! My housemate thought the broth wasn’t flavorful enough, but boys will be boys… Though I enjoyed the food, the atmosphere was a mess!!! Our BBH took like 30 minutes to come out. And there was this party that had like 10 kids and the restaurant didn’t really know how to handle it… Both the noise and the amount of people ordering at once really threw them off, I think. The 10 people party was seated before us, but when we left, it seemed like not everyone had gotten their food yet. Taking into account that our own food took ages for us to get and then to eat, I would say this is probably not a great place for large parties or for people in a rush. I watched(and heard) the party get more and more disgruntled by the minute and then they were loudly complaining and then the kids broke something and then I don’t know if I want to come back. So traumatizing for me…

The only place I go to for Bun bo hue! Seriously the ! The broth is so flavorful and delicious I can’t help but to slurp it till theres nomore, even when I’m super full! So I always walk out not being able to breathe. Lol. The staff is very nice & friendly. I came in the day after I got my wisdom tooth pulled out and ordered phở with just noodles and soup, asked for scissors, lemon for my room temperature water and other things haha. & the server attended to my every need! He was probably thinking«ugh shes so picky«lol sorry! Their bo luc lac(shaken beef) is yummy as wellll. OH& I would never leave without getting a strawberry milk tea. Josephine would always make it perfect for me. Not too sweet, just perfect! Their menu isn’t very big, but I’m sure everything on there is good, so no need for a wide variety of options!

Bbh was ok. The beef meat was tender compared to an nam. The soup needs a little more spice. Oj was definitely fresh squeezed. The waitress needs to learn to take order. She was taking my order and walk away in the middle of me ordering. Didn’t even apologized and then said what did I want to order? If your not ready to get my order then don’t go to my table and take order. Then when I went over to the cashier to pay they gave me a lot of pennies in stead of dimes and nickels… WTH. Overall, the place was ok just needs better service.

I ordered the hot beef soup and spring rolls. The noodles in the soup were thicker than the phở noodles. I was hoping for phở noodles but oh well. It was very tasty though. The meat was a bit on the fatty side. I probably won’t go back since there are so many other places to try in the area. I enjoyed the spring rolls. You get 4 rolls and each one is a pretty good size, but the meat and shrimp in each are pretty small pieces.

I’ve been to BBH An Nam on multiple occasions and always got poor service and lack-luster BBH. The bowls here are larger, there’s more flavor & ingredients, plus the service is way nicer! When the employees heard that my co-worker loved huyet(pig’s blood cubes), they added extra pieces for her. She was definitely a happy camper. They also gave her extra samples of the chili sauce they were selling(she loves her dishes super spicy). She now makes her BF take the soup to-go when he visits her. :) The Goi Cuon was mostly lettuce and were just ok. I make those better myself.

The bun bo hue here is perfect. I prefer it over an nam and it’s closer and away from the traffic nightmare around the grand century area. The shrimp egg roll and café sua da are delicious as well. I love coming here, it’s cheap and in a great location!

So far I’ve had consistent bowls of phò here and the star is the tai, cross cut slices of tender quality beef. The broth is clean and tasty with lots o slivers of green onions… Get the soul chili on the side, spicy but flavorful… The fish sauce chicken wangs are good too… The BBH is on par here, meat is a bit chewy, but the flavors are here… Just dump everything in the bowl, mix it up and eat! Add some soul chili in there to kick it up a few notches and it’s all good!

Came here tonight since my mom was craving something spicy! She’s been here a couple times and says that the bun bo hue is as good as(if not better) than bun bo hue an nam. Unfortunately I don’t eat meat so I can’t judge for myself but I trust my mom’s judgement! I decided to get a milk tea since I didn’t want to sit there and watch my mom eat. I had a hard time deciding what kind of milk tea I wanted but decided to go with the standard jasmine milk tea. The gentlemen actually recommended the strawberry one so I figured why not! He said that there were actual strawberries in the strawberry milk tea and that it’s kinda like a jam. Holy cow! It exceeded my expectations! The tea was strong but milky, and the strawberry was sweet but just a tad tart. He was super nice and offered to remake the drink if I didn’t like it. You can forget tpumps or other places that sell watered down syrupy crap. The only thing I have to say is that my straw was too small and I couldn’t suck up the strawberries): other than that, I would definitely come back for that drink. A big thank you to that guy who made my drink!

Solid 3 star food and experience. The bun bo hue here is above average. It’s way better than what you can get from a typical phở restaurant(well because it is their specialty) but still not better than Bun Bo Hue An Nam in San Jose IMO. Pros: –Soup actually has flavor. Spice level is not very strong — Nice portion of meat — Very accommodating when we asked to switch for thin noodles — Modern décor with fancy large spoons and fancy bowls — Food is served fast Cons: — Found myself drinking a lot of water and still thirsty after… msg loaded? — Poor service. They will not«see» you when you flag them down cause their mind is focused elsewhere — Restaurant layout can be improved(big plant probably should not be placed smack-dab in front of door) — Side veggies could be more fresh/fragrant — Bar seating looks more like you’re eating at a counter. I need to point out that the one big thing that stands out here MORE than the food is the service. Dear lord do I sense fear and chaos in all of the waiters eyes! They are soooo frantic and their nervous energy literally rubs off on you. I would suggest waiting a couple+ more months for them to get their operations refined before expecting a nice ambiance here.

Meh… :(when it was not as busy(a couple of months when they first open) it was pretty good but since its been open a while and now busy, its horrible. I dont think they can handle a full house as the wait for food was over 20 mins during lunch rush and everyone was all over the place. I noticed the quality of the broth was off and they now skimped on the meat and toppings. On top of that the bun bo hue didnt sit well with my stomach after nor did the phở with my friend. He complained he was in the restroom right after. I really liked this place in the beginning but now its whatever for me.

Best BBH in the South Bay. Great service, delicious food and it’s clean!!! They get pretty packed around noon but the wait isn’t too bad. My friends come from SF to get two orders to go so they can enjoy for the following day. BBH –5 stars Fried chicken and dry egg noodles — 4 stars phở — 4 stars Rice plates — 4.5 stars Service — 5 stars

Came by for lunch the other day and realized that it seems to be the same owners at Bun Bo Hue An Nam as I recognized one of the staff members! Interior of the restaurant is modern and the restrooms were clean. Surprisingly, the restaurant was pretty empty, even during the typical lunch rush! Started off with the Shrimp Mayonnaise Egg Rolls which were decent. They were obviously pre-made and taken out to the fryer as the interior was still slightly cold… :/The rolls were well fried and the interior of mayo and shrimp was definitely unique, seems like Walnut Shrimp… Moved on to the Bun Bo Hue which was merely okay. As other Unilocalers had mentioned, the broth and meats weren’t super flavorful like Bun Bo Hue An Nam… Noodles were decent and the topping of onions was tasty. Service was friendly and attentive by the staff. Credit Cards are accepted for purchases over $ 15. ~$ 18 after tax and tip for lunch…

Bun bo hue: A spicy bowl of flavors. The broth is beef and lemongrass based. It is served with thick long and slippery rice noodles with pig blood squares, slices of beef, vietnamese luncheon ham. I could be topped off with onions, cabbage, and bean sprouts. All of this for $ 9.50 a bowl. This is definitely the best place to get bun bo hue if it isn’t at your mom or aunt’s house. Other than the great food, the employees here are great as well. They here are hardworking and enthusiastic and makes sure you leave with a satisfying experience. It is located at a plaza and you could already smell the deliciousness from the parking lot. The ambiance inside is clean and modern. I am for sure coming back!

So glad there’s a BBH place close to home! Also sad that I moved to SD for school the year they opened… but when I am home, this is my go-to for bun bo hue. The broth is just the right amount of spicy, the meat portions are generous(good meat to noodle ratio for sure), and it’s not as oily as BBH at other restaurants. I have yet to try their rice plates, but one of these days I’m going to reject my BBH craving and try their bo luc lac! The food attracts me, but what keeps me coming back is the service. The owner and staff are friendly and attentive! They treat you like family, and I love that. As for the venue, it’s clean, modern and spacious. It’s located on the corner two stores down from Starbucks, and there shouldn’t be any issues finding parking. Can’t wait until I’m back in Milpitas so I can come back!

Pretty authentic tasting. People would say Bun Bo Hue An Nam is good, but I would definitely say I enjoyed this place more. More tasty. First time here, feels like the restaurant staff could’ve used more training. We sat for approximately 30 minutes and still didn’t get out waters. What made my husband and I mad was the fact that other tables coming AFTER us, received their order before we did. I would say a good 4 – 5 tables did. My husband brought it to their attention and we received our food w/in 10 minutes. Otherwise, it’s good! Try it out! We ordered the Spicy Beef Noodle. I ate for some of the fish paste and chili on the side. Meat: Noodle ratio was good. They definitely didn’t skimp on the meat. Everyone received their own bowl of veggies. Clear broth, not murky, which is EXACTLY what I like! Come try it here if you’re wanting some home tasting Bun Bo Hue.

BBH noodle just recently opened and usually BBH spots aren’t around this area often. So I’m glad the family who owns this restaurant decided to switch things up and plop one of the tastiest BBH noodle houses in the Bay Area! After visiting this place I could say their broth is one of the tastiest that I’ve tried around San Jose. They give a great portion of meat in the noodle dish, along with a heaping side of veggies(which I totally looooove!!) and the broth isn’t too spicy either! I also had a chance to try two of the eye catching appetizers on the menu: the fish sauce glazed fried chicken wings, and the ship+mayonnaise stuffed egg rolls. The eggs rolls reminded me of honey walnut shrimp dish stuffed inside an egg roll shell, without the sweetness of the walnut.(2 for $ 5 though…) the eggs rolls were good but I probably wouldn’t order it again… As for the fish sauce glazed wings, they were delicious! These I would definitely order again, but I wish a piece or 2 more wings would be provided in the appetizer for that price. Service was great! One the of employees(I’m guessing one of the owners or someone related to the owners of this family restaurant) was taking a lunch break but still was paying attention to the floor to help out and calling his co workers to come help us out! Great customer service from beginning to end. I definitely will be back, see you soon BBH Noodle!

Food was good. Service wasn’t. Ordered the bun bo hue which was very tasty. Good sauces and everything. Downfall is that every table was packed, but only two employees. Water was never refilled. Took awhile to flag someone down as well. Giving them 4 stars because of the delicious food. Each bowl is $ 9.5 as well which is pricey compared to the OC but I guess that’s the regular price for Milpitas. Anyway, the broth was good. Beef blood, spices, diff types of meat, etc. all delicious. Just bad service and the floors weren’t as clean as well. Honestly, I was so thirsty and they never came by to refill my water. I couldn’t even flag them down.

«Third Time’s a Charm?» What does that even mean? Well in this case, it means that this particular restaurant, is proving to be better than the previous two that were forced to close their doors! Better? I’d have to say YES! We ordered the Shaken Beef Rice Plate, BBQ Chicken Rice Plate, and the Baked Seafood Rice. The two servers we had were very friendly, and the food came out reasonable quick. Shaken Beef Rice Plate: This dish came with their seasoned rice, which was SCREAMING! But the beef could have been a little more tender. BBQ Chicken Rice Plate: The chicken was cooked and seasoned to perfection! Slightly charred on the outside, and perfectly textured inside, and juicier than juice itself!!! Baked Seafood Rice: A pretty simple looking dish, but everything thrown in here was very fresh and tasty! Side note: The first server didn’t know the menu too well, but Rocky is your go-to guy! I’m guessing he might be the manager/owner. He was very helpful. But, I’d say they should probably invest in Comcast or DirecTV. If you have a flatscreen mounted, put it to use! :) Conclusion: Good service, good food, moderate prices. Yes, I would definitely come back to try their Bun Bo Hue(#4: Spicy Beef Noodle Soup). This is their signature dish! Hence the name, «BBH Noodle!»

Before I wrote this review, I gave it many tries and now I am a fan! First Experience: My family and I(plus boyfriend) came here on their first week of grand opening. Of course, things won’t always be smooth. The place looked clean and only had about 2 other tables filled. We had a table of 7 people and we ordered 4 bowls of BBH, an order of the BBQ Beef Rice Plate, and Phở Dac Biet. I shared my BBH with my boyfriend since we were both still full. The soup smelled great and presentation was nice. It looked plentiful, hot, and fresh. Unfortunately, the soup was a little bland and the bun was super soft! That is a big no-no for me! I love al dente bun and I think that is what makes a big part of BBH. The soup was not as flavorful as BBH An Nam. However, my grandma gave me some of her BBQ Beef to try and that was really good! The meat was tender and well seasoned. It went perfectly with the al dente rice and fish sauce. That day, I left feeling a bit disappointed and thought it can never compared to An Nam. All Experiences After: I came back 4 times afterwards with friends and my boyfriend. Each time, it got better and better! The bun became al dente. The soup was more flavorful! Someone even came up to me on my second visit and asked me how the bun was. I don’t know if they recognized me from Unilocal or they were simply just asking everyone, but there was definite improvement. On the third visit, I tried their Hu Tieu Bo Vien and that was very light, fresh, and flavorful. Overall: Their BBH is doesn’t fail to satisfy my BBH cravings. I learned to substitute the beef in BBH with Tai. Makes it even better! Although in my eyes, they can never compare to An Nam, they do come close. With the distance in consideration, I would definitely choose to come here over An Nam on most days.
