Worst Philly CheeseSteak EVER… OK, maybe not worst ever, but definitely not good! They should at least change the name, to something that doesn’t shame what is my favorite sandwich ever. I have had Philly’s all across the country, and this is definitely one of the worst. It was dry, the bread sucked, the cheese whiz was bad, the mushrooms were weird… nothing was good about this Philly… The guy at the counter was nice, but not nice enough to necessitate another star… Anyways, if your looking for a Philly Cheesesteak, steer clear of here!

Decent food but we waited for 15 minutes. Its also expensive for what the sandwiches are.

Not very good, and kind of expensive. I can see going there after a long night of drinking on Brady Street, but other than that, I would never eat here. I ordered the burger that they call«Best in Milwaukee» the other day. It took 20 minutes to make(and it wasn’t during their busy hour), and it failed to even come close to living up to its name. The place across the street, Jacks, has much better burgers. The only other time I’ve been there, I had a run of the mill Philly Cheese steak that failed to impress. If you like waiting a long time for overpriced food that really isn’t all that good, come to Philly Way.

If I could do no stars I would. I’m not sure how a place called THEPHILLYWAY, uses CANNEDRED pepper, CANNED mushrooms, and over cooked, under carmelized onions that sit on a flat top turning to mush. This isn’t a Philly cheese steak. The meat is tough, the veggies NOTFRESH, but canned. They claim to slice their own meat, and claim to be the best. NEVER eat here, if you know anything about food, it should always be cooked fresh. Philly way, get your sh*t together fools. You make Philly cheese stakes look shameful.

Good food, but the employees are too high to get the orders correct! Make sure you check your orders, especially on take out and delivery!

Wow. I have been to chubby’s a million times and even have a review of it here. This was a terrible cheese steak. No flavor found anywhere and I’m almost certain the beef was raw. Second worst cheese steak I’ve ever had. The fries, while warm and crispy were cheap and had no seasoning at all. I’m honestly nauseous.

This has become my favorite drunk food restaurant. They are always nice here and are not offended if you come in hammered. The cost is reasonable and the quality is incredible. I love their philly cheese steak with cheese whiz. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Went here today for the first time. It was all of 2 mins from the job. It was good! I got the Works with Cajun fries, I would suggest a combo of some sort.

«Meh. I’ve experienced better» is exactly the way that I would describe Philly Way. Was it convenient? Not really to my location, I was in Downtown Milwaukee for a conference, and had two hours to kill for lunch, so rather than waiting in a crowded Downtown restaurant, we drove up to Brady street. It was dead, so I guess that part was good. The ordering process was a bit of a cluster. They were out of mushrooms(even though they are a standard ingredient on one of their sandwiches.) They were out of french fries. They were out of at least four of their beverage choices. The sandwich was just okay. It didn’t really have much flavor. It worked in a pinch. While we were finishing up our meal, another customer came in and was able to order fries(some must’ve JUST been delivered miraculously.) It would’ve been nice to have been offered some, or given some because we had tried to order them less than 20 minutes earlier and were told they were ‘out.‘ Guys, you can get a better philly cheesesteak at Jersey Mike’s. That should say it all.

Disappointing at best. It literally didn’t taste like anything. I chewed air flavored beef. The bread was obviously cheap and dry. The cheese didn’t offer any help. Yikes, the food was soooooo icky. The décor was better left off the walls as it was sort of tacky. The only bright spot was that the staff was very nice… That certainly won’t make me come pay $ 8 for a flavorless sandwich.

First and foremost, the cheese steaks are alright… I honestly wasn’t blown away by them at all… but then again, it’s a cheese steak. However, I was intrigued by the fact that they claim to have the City’s Best Steak Burger. I tried it out and they are NOT kidding around. I’m not sure that that burger is, but the patty is fantastic, the bun is perfect, and the compliment of white american cheese and onions is incredible. The fries are bland, but with the burger being this good… I couldn’t care less about the fries.

It’s a shame that I cannot give them NOSTARS! If you are a big fan of unseasoned beef, cheap bread, and cardboard fries then I have the place for you! Granted, it’s not as rat infested and filthy as the 2nd street location but the service is equally as rude! You want to eat someplace that is actually good? Go next door to the Greek joint and order from a guy who knows the value of good food and customer service.

I waited a while before going to allow them to work out the kinks and finally went today. I go to Chubby’s occasionally and I really like it so I figured I’d like a cheese steak from Philly Way. When I walked in the cook was at a table munching away on a sandwich. When I ordered a cheesesteak and cheese fries(just to try them out) the cook took his time to return to the kitchen and gave me a dirty look when he did. I guess I interrupted his break by coming in at 6pm when nobody else was there on a Sunday. He moved very slowly and it took a long time to complete the order. The sandwich was done before the fries which makes no sense since the steak takes longer to cook than fries. When I got my order home the sandwich looked pretty disgusting with the wrapper soaked in grease and I could not see any cheese. I guess the cook forgot to add the cheese to my cheese steak. The meat was not flavorful at all. The fries were not very good either. I did not finish eating them. They seem to be cheap fries and were not crispy at all. An despite having cheese all over the fries they just had not flavor. I think I’ll stick with other food options in the area and steer clear of Philly Way. Basic sub sandwiches, hot dogs and Greek food is just steps away. And if I really want a cheese steak I can head down to another spot I know that I like. There I know the staff is on top of it, they are always busy and I’ve been happy with the food. And they deliver as well. If you are out late and are really craving a cheese steak, just order from Chubby’s. I expect plenty of late night customers stumble into Philly Way thinking a hot cheese steak has to be better than a cold sub. If you really want something hot go to the Dogg Haus down the street or Apollo Café which both have much better ratings than Philly Way. Chubby’s also has better ratings. Perhaps I’ll give Philly Way a try again once I see the Unilocal reviews improve. Give it a try yourself and see if you like it. Maybe they will improve and you can post a better review. I know the owner has been doing this for a while, but I’ve read he is hostile to bad reviewers instead of looking at the problems and fixing them. Let’s hope he fixes it using his experience and gets it right.

Even though this is a cheese steak place, my buddy told me that they had amazing burgers. Being a burger guy, I had to try it out. It took a long time to cook, but it was great. It was greasy, juicy, and covered in melted cheese. They throw in fries and for 7 bucks or so it was a great deal. Loved it. But this is a cheese steak place, so that should be their forte. Right? Sadly it’s not. Last weekend I went there and got take out on the way home from a roller derby bout. I dunno if quality control declines after 10pm or what. The cheesesteak was alright, but they kinda skimped on what they called«the works.» The fries are 3 bucks extra for those crinkle fries you got in the high school lunch line. Maybe not as soggy, but they weren’t salted and were still basically still white in color. Shouldn’t they be golden? I don’t remember those coming with the burger, so maybe they switched it up since last time I was there, I’m not sure. So for 12 bucks I got a mediocre cheesesteak and garbage fries. Why are they charging for fries for the cheesesteak but not the burger? That’s beyond me. I’d been to the one in Walker’s Point, and it was much better. I’ll go back to that one, but if I return to the Brady Street location, it’s gonna be for the burger, not their«signature» sandwich. Meh.

Now I thought I’d give this Philly Way a chance against the other spot in Walker’s Point because it is rather new. 1. Location can’t beat it. 2. Nice and clean — total opposite from the Walker’s Point restaurant. 3. Friendly staff But the food was just okay. Nothing jumped out at me and said hey when you finish you will want to eat here again. It was hot and fresh… a lot of onions… it was just bland. Fries were Mickey D’s like which was good. But for $ 10 I wanted more. Still waiting for a good cheesesteak in Milwaukee.

Was drunk, walked in since me and my friend were sick of the Greek food next door. Big Mistake. First off the prices are RIDICULOUS. $ 7 for a cheese steak, what is this chicago? I opted for the«cheaper» chilli cheese dogs + fries. Had better, was lukewarm. Then the wait time, we waited at least 10 minutes + for my friend’s steak burger to finish, come on now, this is a fast food joint. Third, they REFUSED to provide me with tap water. Are you serious? Talk about price gouging, there was a sink right behind the cashier and he refused to give me some tap water. What kind of business establishment is this owner trying to run?! You are not a 5 star restaurant, you are a drunk munchie place. This is probably the worst bang for your buck on all of brady st. No wonder no one comes here during the day time, its a freaking rip off. They took my drunk money once, but never shall I step foot in here again!

My husband and I got take out the other night. We both ordered the basic cheesesteak, and it was very good. The sandwich was too big for me to finish, I would have been happier with a half sanwich and small side option. The only complaint would be how loud it is inside. The girls taking our order could barely hear us over the loud chopping in the kitchen area.

Heard about this place opening up and was kinda excited for it to happen. I work down in Walker’s Point near the original, but sadly have never gone in, so this opening up ½blk from my house was amazing news. It’s nice that there’s now gonna be a new fast option for food on those crazy nights on Brady besides subs, pizza, or Greek, but receiving my bill today was a little eye-opening. I ordered a basic cheesesteak w/wiz and an order of basic no-frills fries and with tax my bill came to over $ 10, no drink. Now, I’m not from Philly so I’m no expert but it was kinda strange to see the cheese put on the bottom of the sandwich instead of the top to soak thru the meat, instead I had a clump of dry meat with undercooked onions and then the gooey/greasy cheese. Rounding up to the nearest dollar my sandwich was $ 7 and my fries were $ 3. Was it worth it? IDK, you’ll hafta try it. I think next time I’ll just stick with the sandwich and get my sides somewhere else…

Want a taste of Philly with less crime and less Will Smith? This place has Eagles memorabilia on the wall, steak sizzling on the grill, and enough cheeze whiz to drown a herd of moose. This place is new(It’s two days old) so they are working out some kinks. The ordering is a little wonky, the service is a little slow, and there’s a little bit of confusion on everyone’s part. The workers were friendly and my order was correct, so they’ve at least got that. Service wasn’t completely terrible, it’s just not a selling point(yet). The food however, was delish. The bread is perfect. It can stand up to the meaty onslaught of steak. It can survive a drenching of cheeze whiz, onions and mushrooms. It’s chewy and moist, but still has some crunch. The steak was properly cooked and juicy. The onions were good, but I could have used a little more caramelization. The mushrooms were unremarkable rubbery bits from a can that weren’t worth the extra $ 0.75. Overall, it was a hearty, good tasting sandwich. I can see this giving Apollo a run for the drunk crowd on the weekends. (Couple side notes: No napkins on the tables? Weird. They’re only at the front desk. Also, you leave your trash on the table and they come and buss it. I still feel weird doing this at restaurants but I guess it’s a thing? No biggie, but it’s awkward if you don’t know.)
