Fries burnt and burger taste horrible got the BBQ cheddar bacon burger. Came here last year and burger wasn’t that horrible burger then was actual not good but not bad. Worst burger place I have tried in all of California. I know that sounds bad but damn for the price point you could go get hook burger. Smh burger took like 3−5min to make I guess that should have told me something

Maybe it was a fluke or something but I had a great meal at Smashburger. I have never been and I’m a huger burger person. I love the meat, the fat, and the bun. So you can make your own or order one of the pre-made ones. In addition, you can get it regular sized or get it larger as well. I ended up getting the Truffle Mushroom Swiss Burger, regular sized, made as is. A friend of mine got the SoCal Burger with a drink and the Buffalo Fries. The person taking our order was very friendly and even though he was reciting what he had to say off memory, he at least try to put some umph into it. We waited a short while for the foot and the waitress came with our burgers and fries. At first glance, I was like WTF why is this so small and it was like $ 8? So I was already a bit disappointed but then I took a bite. The truffle and fat from the beef just oozed and my taste buds went wild. I’m a huge fan of the truffle flavor so even though I didn’t smell it at first, I definitely tasted it. The patty itself felt overcooked. Very well done instead of what I’d expect it to be, which was around a medium well. The mushrooms were sliced thin and softened. The cheese was a bit hard still and didn’t ooze like the rest of the burger but the truffle flavor overtook this shortcoming. The Buffalo fries were mediocre. They had a very slight buffalo flavor but it had a larger taste of just seasoning salt. The fries are shoestring and I would say you had a good handful of fries to accompany your burger. Not necessary if you choose the right burger. My friend said his SoCal burger was OK. Nothing to fancy or great about it… All in all, I give this place 4 stars because I thoroughly enjoyed my burger. I am not sure of the rest of the stuff on the menu but if I come back, I will definitely get this burger again and possibly ask to get the patty cooked a bit less. The service was quick and friendly and the environment was relaxed and for some reason, didn’t have that fast food McDonald’s feel. The price is a bit steep because our two burgers, a buffalo fries, and a drink was around $ 20, but I would come back once in a while to get that burger again.

Went out with a couple friends who recommended this place. They only went there to get an order of smash fries. Those fries were amazing.

When I ordered I clarified that the no mayo was because of an allergy. As you can see from the receipt it was ordered correctly, but the other pic shows that the burger was slathered in mayo! Had to throw the entire burger away.

I am downgrading my star rating due to the misinformation I was given and the service. Since we had a good experience on our first visit, we decided in a return visit. We decided to join the Smashburger Club. The cashier informed us we could join after we ordered. So we ordered first. Not only did we not get points for that visit, we did not receive the $ 2 discount on your first order. We went to a different location and were informed that the $ 2 discount was only applicable on your first order when you joined. What a disappointment. I am wavering between 2 and 3 stars, but will take away 1 star only since I think the milkshakes are pretty awesome although pricey! Can’t say we will return anytime in the near future unless we are craving for a milkshake! We first discovered Smashburger in Scottsdale, Arizona. We loved the handmade chocolate shakes and thought wouldn’t it be great if they had one of these in LA. I know this place has been opened awhile, but I’ve been hesitant to try because of the less than positive reviews. I didn’t want to ruin the memories of the shake, burger and fries that we enjoyed so much. I was not disappointed, the shakes were still creamy and delicious. The burgers tasty and the fries hot and crisp. Everything is cooked to order so your food arrives hot. Don’t get me wrong… I like In N Out burgers, but often times they are so busy that your burger sits there getting cold waiting for the fries to be done. Nothing worse then a lukewarm burger. I agree the Smashed fries are a bit on the greasy side with the olive oil. Probably will go with regular fries next time. Some reviewers have complained about the price. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

Where’s the beef? My wife and I just got ripped off from Smash Burger. I have been here in the past and I was entirely happy. Now they are cheating their customers. I paid $ 5.59 for a Deluxe Big Smash with a burger patty no thicker than a McDonald’s Big Mac patty. When is a «gourmet burger» patty thin? I finished and I was still hungry. I paid an extra $ 1.29 for bacon on my burger and they gave me three pieces of bacon each less than an inch in length. Certainly not worth the bill which totaled over $ 26.00. A better value always is going to In-And-Out Burger. Smashburger management should be ashamed of fleecing their customers. I won’t be back and I will warn others not to waste their money.

I can’t help but compare any fast food burgers to In-N-Out. This burger was good. But it was more expensive and not as magical as INO. I was a bit confused by the menu as the first two burgers said they had exactly the same things on them for different prices. I did get the Rosemary garlic fries. They were good but too crunchy.

The shakes are super good, but I wasn’t impressed with the burgers. It reminds me of when I was a kid and wanted McDonalds and my mom would make me a hamburger at home. It tasted ok but it sure was as good as what you expected. The place is clean and service is good.

First time here. My friend and I ordered the SoCal Burger & Buffalo/Bleu Cheese chicken sandwich with a large order of the buffalo fries. Staff was amazing and friendly(the server recommended what she liked from the menu). Clean restaurant and nice ambiance. Downside: the food was not worth the price. The burger patty was very bland and reminded me of the quarter pound burger from McDonalds. The fried were very small and extremely salty too. On a brighter note, the chicken and the Bleu cheese used in the chicken sandwich was very tasty. Not a bad first visit, but won’t be back. Better off going to Fudruckers or In-N-Out.

Good burgers and chicken sandwiches made any way you’d like. Nothing over the top or fancy about them though. Comparable to the Habit. This place could be better if they had something to set them apart.

Items ordered: Bacon cheeseburger combo regular size with smashfries $ 11 I’ve been curious about this place for a little while. I go to Loose Teas whenever I get a chance. I visited Loose Teas around dinner so I thought I’d try this burger place. I would give this place 2 ½ stars, but since there’s no half stars, I lean more toward 2 stars. My main thing was the price. My meal came out to 11 bucks tax included. For this price I would much rather get Fatburger, or 2 meals at In N’ Out, or 4 famous stars for that matter. I ordered the Bacon Cheesburger combo with Smashfries which means they toss the fries in olive oil, rosemary, and garlic. I ordered Dine-in, so they brought it out in a metal basket and wrapper. Presentation was nice, they served it open faced so you can season it and the toppings don’t get soggy. They serve it on an egg bread bun which I prefer over a sesame seed bun. The burger patty is a little bit underwhelming… for 11 bucks I think the burger should be bigger. The fries are almost cut as thin as shoestring potatoes, and they are crispy which is good. I was curious about the smashfries, so I tried it. I recommend just ordering regular fries. I don’t think it added much flavor, but it sure did add more oil. So overall the burger was just meh. Nothing special.

Do you ever have that feeling that their best is barely up to your idea of average? I totally had that idea when I came to this smashburger with the munchkin. We came here since we were in the neighborhood and the munchkin was covetous of a milkshake. So we got here and discovered that the parking is nigh impossible. We had to park on the backside(a rear door would have been awesome) and trudged through the rain to get to the front of this place. Once inside we put in our order and grabbed one of the pub height tables. The munchkin always loves to sit up as high as we can. So after the sticker shock on a couple of burgers and shakes(over $ 30 including one being a kids meal!), we were served our grub. The munchkin got her hamburger and ate maybe ¼ of it. I was able to choke down my burger without too much pain, just had wished it was juicer and not seemingly so fast foodie, if that makes sense. I have always felt that cooking with love and appreciation of the grub is a huge step up from whatever else that can be. However here, well I didn’t feel that at all. There was no love of the food, it was just stuff to toss out to a covetous public needing something to ingest. Heck even the fries were mediocre it seemed to me. Our shakes however were quite tasty. But when is a properly made shake not tasty? Well we both enjoyed ours. This was the only saving grace here. The shakes lifted this place up from the bottom of the barrel. Granted not very high past that, but some. So if you want a good shake and a shoddy burger, well this is your spot.

I came here for lunch on Friday and it was pretty quiet which is nice. Overall, I would say the SoCal burger(I would guess this burger is only served in Southern California, but who knows) and sweet potato fries are decent but for the price, I can’t say that it’s totally worth it since there are a lot of good burger places with similar pricing. What I did like is that the place is clean and service was good overall. I wouldn’t come back though since I don’t think you get a high quality burger for the money you spend.

I’ll give this place two stars strictly because the staff and service are top notch. The food to be quite honest is just not very good. I had the BBQ Bacon Burger and it really wasn’t even as good as a McDonald’s cheeseburger. The burger patty is tasteless and rail thin given the price you are paying. I also had the sweet potato fries which were soggy and quite salty. I’m not a very picky or critical person when it comes to burgers, but I would avoid this place if you’re looking for anything resembling a restaurant style burger. McDonald’s is just down the street and their Big Mac is a better burger.

First time trying smash burger and I do have some expectation since it’s a burger. What can go wrong with a burger? To be fair, the Classic Burger that I ordered is ok, nothing bad about it and nothing amazing. But if I were to compare other burger places that I’ve been, this is my least favorite. Burger doesn’t have enough sauce in it, taste pretty blend. Oh, and I’m not a fan of the fries too. Not crispy enough and I don’t really like the herbs taste.

I got the Avocado, bacon burger. It was good, the burger patty tasted fresh and had good seasoning. The bacon was thick and crisp, and the avocado was very fresh. I liked the sauce that was also on the burger. I did not like the whole wheat bun though, wish it came with different style bun, something softer. I also got the fries with the olive oil and herbs, good choice went well with ranch. THEYSERVECOKE products so I was happy to see that I could enjoy my burger with a classic coke! Good customer service! Overall, yeah I am a fan

Another great Smashburger location! We always stop when we see a new location, as I can be sure that they hire an excellent staff and the food will be good every time! Food takes a bit, but is made to order. Love their salads and veggie burger, I usually get both which is way too much, but both are so good! My husband loves their burgers, kids meals are generous as well and fires are great. Prices and portions more than fair, quality is good, really all around great burger chain, glad to see them doing so well and expanding all over, well deserved!

I never heard of Smashburger and needed a quick bite and a quick lunch. From the outside it looked like a good choice to I’ll give it a try. When you walk in you noticed there are tables in your path to place your order at the counter. If you’re planning on dinning in you should sit somewhere else because if the lines are long people are gonna be standing around you. I’ve never been here before so I got the classic Smashburger, smash fries, and a drink which they give you an option for a class cup or a regular to go cup. The Smashburger I thought it was ok, it was good and tasty but I haven’t eaten anything the whole day so my hunger may have decrease my pickyness a bit. The smash fries were those seasoned fries with lots of herbs. My complaint about the fries is they are really thin, maybe thinner than In N Out’s, and they over do it with the seasoning. When I say they’re over doing it they are really over doing it. The taste of the herbs were so strong ketchup couldn’t even save it. I didn’t even finish my fries and just toss them out, don’t want to force feed myself. The highlight of this place was differently the service. The cashier was friendly, courteous, and informative. The cooks and table service were fast, when I finished washing my hands I already gotten my food out from the kitchen. So kudos to the staff here.
