OK I’m impressed, I taste the love the chef puts into every bite of food. I had the meatball panini with the fingerling potatoes and wedge salad. Every detail, the homemade bread, meatballs, marinaa sauce, perfect amount of cheese and red onion. I asked for a side of marinara sauce to dip and he makes it from scratch! I so appreciate all the extra time and effort it takes to make good food. Thank you!

Mm we had a great lunch here! Spinach dip is the best we’ve ever had and their pizzas have so much flavor! Hubs got the new chicken and I had a custom with asparagus, spinach and chicken. Interesting combo but so delicious! We would definitely go back!

Awesome place with fresh pizzas! I recommend the Potato & Bacon and the Pesto pizzas. They’re really good, and they also have the dessert, which is the Campfire Pie which you should try at least once! Definitely worth your time. :)

We were just visiting the area to golf, and were jonesing for some pizza. Most places were closed on New Year’s Day, so we tried it because they were the only ones open, so bravo for that already. The staff were so nice, and our pizza came super quickly. Delicious thin New York style, some of the best crust I’ve ever had!!! The sauce is delicious too. Will return every time we’re in the area!

Great pizza! The wood-burning oven adds so much flavor it’s like you’re back in Italy! Phil the owner is fantastic! Ordered a fennel sausage and onion pizza with no onions and double sausage! And a mushroom pizza with prosciutto added! Ask for both pizzas to be a little well done and not cut!

Okay so I went in here because I was hungry and I need some food. The selections were good. However, I ordered a create your own pizza with chicken and bacon. i ordered it to-go which apparently isn’t understandable there. After I paid, I was told they don’t have chicken but I can have anything else I want. I got another meat and finally got my pizza about 5 minutes later. I just now opened it to find that it is only 3 slices. I paid $ 11.26 for this which included my $ 2.95 drink. When I pay that much for pizza I expect more than 3 slices. 3 stars because the food is really good even if it is way too expensive.

I don’t think I really understand what’s so great about this place. I had it on my bookmark for places to try for the longest time, and I finally tried it during my lunch. I just thought it was o-k. I honestly think it’s pricey for what it is, and it’s nothing special. Sure, Simi Valley and Moorpark aren’t the places you would be going to for the best food, but I feel like people lower their standards when it comes to food out here. To me, 4.5 stars for a restaurant would mean that the food is absolutely superb! I don’t think I’ll be coming back here for pizza, salad, or even ice cream.

Seriously SO good. One of the best pizzas I’ve had in a while! Better than most of the fancy places in LA. I made my own combination & am so happy they deliver! Thank you! This area NEEDS better food, like you. One point for the restaurant: I literally had 5 tiny pieces of pineapple on my pizza for a 1.00 up charge. Definitely ordering again. Yum!

Just ordered a small Loretta and a small BBQ Chicken pizza. Didn’t really mind the longish wait because I have heard raves. Sooooo disappointed. Over cooked, dry and seriously lacking toppings. The 5 pieces of chicken on the BBQ chicken(some pieces had no chicken at all) was so dry it was like leather. Totally not worth the $ 11.95 each. I’ve seen better frozen pizza. Here’s a tip. Drive to TO and go to Pieology. Cheaper and better by leaps and bounds.

I love Custom Pie and have been a dedicated fan of Phil(Owner) and his legit Pies. Wow truly great pies. Phil is a true pizza aficionado from the dough to the scratch made ingredients… 5 Star Pizza in Moorpark. Wood burning oven High quality ingredients Creative menu that churns out great pizza. They are also willing to be flexible and encourage interesting concepts, mixing and matching of components. Custom Pie is the Conejo Valley version of Pizzeria Mozza and one of the best Pies that I have ever had including Pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix. Now that’s rarified company in the Pizza world. The Dalia is a longtime favorite, The Sophia is really good, The Smoked Salmon with cured lox, cream cheese, capers and thinly sliced red onion is fantastic but not on the menu. Beg Phil to make it for you. Trust me… The desert pizza’s(Campfire) are also addicting and pure sugar nirvana.

Tried this place for the first time today and I’m hooked! Had the Mushroom Pizza and added pesto and it was SO good. The owner, Phil, was very friendly and was even open to my suggestions of getting cauliflower crust and oatmeal crust pizzas on the menu. Will definitely be back and want to try the sister store, Custom Melt, next door! :)

I came here for a Unilocal Event and thoroughly enjoyed myself. We were served a selection of foods including two or three salads, four pizzas and finally a dessert pizza. My favorites were the grilled asparagus salad, though it could have used a little more of the fresh cheese on top, and the dessert pizza(«campfire» pizza) they served at the end. The one entrée pizza I tried was the margarita because the other options were spicy or had garlic, and the margarita was good. It’s not my typical choice in pizzas but what it did was make me want to try a truly custom pie next time. I could tell that their ingredients were fresh and flavorful and I want to return to have something more to my tastes made by their chefs. The dessert pizza used their regular dough, baked and then smothered in chocolate and piled with mini marshmallows. Toasted in the oven, the marshmallows were perfect and the chocolate had a good flavor(I’ve been to other pizza shops that use Hershey’s syrup on their dessert pizzas. Gross!) Anyway this Smore’s styled pizza was fantastic and I would come here again if I’m in the area, just to eat that. I got a chance to speak to the owner and he was a very cool guy. He listened to my comments and took them to heart. My table had been sort of off in a corner and we hadn’t felt the service was totally spot on(we weren’t offered all of the things the other tables were) and the owner made sure to let me know that he would make it up to me next time I visit. Overall cozy atmosphere and tasty pizza. I would recommend this and look forward to my next opportunity to eat here. PS the crust is pretty solid — thick and chewy almost like a sourdough of sorts. High quality start for an overall great product.

We were invited here on a Unilocal event and it quite tasty. Let me just say, I am not a pizza person(crazy I know!) but I did enjoy the pizza I had here. We were able to try the wedge salad, the asparagus, and the mix salad. The wedge salad and mix salad was tasty but a bit heavy handed on the cheese. If you like cheese, then no problem. Otherwise, I highly recommend the asparagus salad instead! Super tasty and cooked to perfection! I tried a number of pizza but the best one I would recommend is the El Diablo(if you like spicy). I also tried the smore pizza for dessert and that was quite amazing too! Nothing can go wrong when you put ice cream, nutella, and chocolate swirly on a pizza dough! Make sure you bring friends when you come here though cause it’s pretty filling! May return for the El Diablo!

My review is based on the food, décor and cleanliness. Not on the service. The reason for that is I was here for a special event. So service was obviously top notch for that. Moving onto the food and everything else:) I started off with the Iceberg wedge. The lettuce was pretty fresh. Blue cheese dressing was quite tasty and the bacon was tasty. Can’t ever go wrong with bacon:) Next I was able to try many different pizzas. I will go through them all. First I tried the Margarita pizza. It was what you’d expect from any usual Margarita pizza. But I have to say the crust on this pizza was very tasty and very fresh. The dough is well made and definitely something I noticed right away. El Diablo pizza. This was by far my favorite. WOW what flavor this pizza has. The spicy taste of the marinara to the sweet savory taste of the italian salami. This is a must have pizza if you enjoy spicy food and pizza. It’s not overbearing with spice at all so don’t be afraid. Overall this place is a good little spot for pizza no doubt about it. The owner is nice and and has great recipes. The place is very clean and the décor is modern. They could use some more TV’s but at least they have one. I would definitely recommend this place if you’d like a much better tasting pizza than your average dominos etc. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is due to the place needing a bit more TV’s and that it’s still just pizza. Nothing really stood out greatly that impressed me so much that I had to tell everyone about this place. But like I said. The dough is definitely one thing that stood out. So it definitely gets 5 stars in my mind for the dough. Food: Above average Décor: Above average Staff/Customer service: N/A Cleanliness: VERY clean. Bathrooms: N/A I did not use the bathroom.

We ordered two pizzas, not baked by the owner, and the end results were different enough to warrant an updated review. The first slice of each pizza was OK, but the pizza crusts quickly turned rock-hard. No one at the table really wanted to eat an additional slice, and half of our party was not pizza snobs. It just wasn’t good. Caputo pizzeria flour is intended to be used with very high heat baking temperatures; 905 °F and under two minutes. This is symptomatic of baking this particular type of flour at lower temperatures and longer times. They really need to switch to a high gluten or bread flour that is more in keeping with the style that they’re trying to make; Calipolitan. The toppings were placed very sloppily. They both had too much cheese and it wasn’t melted enough so that it just became a single, solid object.

This is one of the best pizza places and one of my favorites. It is located in a little strip mall near Custom Melt, which is owned by the same people, and down the street from Moorpark College. You can either take it to go or sit down and eat there. If you sit down, they will bring you menus and take your order at the table. The restaurant is small and it can get crowded. There are few tables outside as well. The wood fired pizzas are fantastic with a perfectly crisp crust. The dough is perfect and makes a great base for all of the pizzas. My favorite is the sausage pizza. I love the fresh mozzarella on pizza. It really makes a difference in the taste. The menu also includes some great salads. I am partial to the mixed greens. I think that the shaved carrots are a nice touch and the balsamic vinaigrette is one of the best that I have ever tasted. The desserts are to die for and include tiramisu and gelato, both of which are super delicious. I have yet to try the Campfire Pie but it looks pretty good. The restaurant is very clean and well kept. The drink area is well maintained. The employees are all super friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make sure that you are having a nice meal. Parking is plentiful in the adjacent lot. I highly recommend the pizza at Custom Pie! You will not be disappointed.
