Not sure why this place isn’t higher rated. Great casual dinner spot. My kids love the food too. I love eating outside here. Good spot for a beer and burger on a weekend.

Food was good, not great. $ 17 for five pieces of ravioli? Way over priced. Cheesy décor, soda fountain machine in middle of restaurant. Servers were nice.

Lunch is better(sandwiches) than dinner. Don’t go during prime times I.e. Weekend dinner. Only two servers… Painful to watch them struggle to keep up. They have to turn people away because they can’t properly turn tables. You can’t even get mad about slow service when you see the 2 waiters running everything themselves(busing /bar tending /serving.

My fiancé and I have come here a few times and it has been great. We will continue to come here. We’ve sat outside to enjoy the weather and MH’s down town charm. I’m a fan of the Panini $ 12.99. The sandwich’s ingredients are fresh. My fiancé has ordered different pastas and she’s liked all(Lobster and prawn Mafalda $ 18.99& Linguini Fisherman $ 15.99). This is not a fancy place, more low key and relaxed. The dish’s presentation will be above average and you could tell they put some effort in it. On one occasion I ordered a glass of wine and it tasted old, not fresh. I will ask the waiter next time how long the bottle has been opened on the desired wine. This place is not really cheap but the food is good. My only complaint is the waiter(older lady), she definitely needs to smile more. Overall, I recommend this place.

One of my most favorite places for lunch. I think that their sandwiches and potato wedge fries are incredible. So so so yummy!

Portions are great. Food is slightly above average. Prices are very fair. Everything about this place is slightly above average and that is what keeps it in the monthly lineup of places we eat. There are doing a good job without going over the top. It is very consistent. Desserts are from costco though. Save your money and go to the gelato place across the street.

This is my second visit in two and a half years. Today the food was better than average and even better than ToTo’s and Mama Mia’s. I had the lazania, ribbs, and other items.

I give this restaurant 3 stars. The both the food and decorations/atmosphere of this restaurants were just ok, not great. We went on Monday night after realizing that Maurizio’s was unfortunately closed. We headed down the street to Ricatoni’s hoping to find homestyle Italian food. Unfortunately we were not impressed and will not be coming back. My mom had the Surf and Turf. The dish was ok, nothing special or exciting in flavors to remember the dish by. The lobster was juicy. The steak was nice and soft. My brother had a similar dish of the Lbster and left feeling hungry. While the lobster was good, it lacked in many ways to satisfy his appetite. My dad had the Coffee Crusted Steak and said while the steak was juicy, he could barely taste the coffee flavor that was promised. I myself had the Primavera Pasta. I left the restaurant craving more as well. The sauce was salty and tasted straight out of the can. While I liked the combination of veggies in it, it was not enough for any more stars. Our server was attentive and very nice. The décor is boring and looks old.

Came here with my family and boyfriend for a quick dinner. We sat inside because it was quite a hot day, unfortunately they had their doors open and it was pretty warm inside too… This also allowed for multiple flies to buzz around the restaurant as we ate… ew. I ordered the salmon with risotto and it was GREAT. The risotto, SUPRISINGLY, was some of the best I have had in a long time. GREATFLAVOR! The service was nice and attentive as well and made for an enjoyable experience. next time though, try to keep the flies away.

Bourbon won’t kill it, so I’ll just have to will it I won’t drink the Kool-Aid, try not to be afraid You say you can see all the goodness inside me, dear me Say that you want me, for all that I can be I listen to Billy Joel I watch Flashdance again I’m going to get through Walt Whitman I’m going to be in bed by ten — Camera Obscura, «„I Missed Your Party“» Part III of Sidney Reviews Pizza — Morgan Hill Edition I have been completely digging, as I have all of their albums, the new Camera Obscura collection«Desire Lines». The same dreamy, melancholy motif with amazingly infectious pop hooks and melodies. Pitchfork has the definitive take on the band and this album: «For more than a decade, the Glaswegian indie-pop band Camera Obscura have made consistency a virtue. Their songs stick to comfortingly familiar forms, and every single one is about love. Not many bands could build a devoted indie following by plowing such a narrow, unflashy vintage row. But not many bands have a singer like Tracyanne Campbell, whose plainly beautiful voice is sluiced through a series of refined lilts, catches, and gulps that have come to trigger a nearly Pavlovian adoration in fans. This constant musical sweetness is balanced by Campbell’s eye for the dark clouds reflected in every silvery lake, and even her most starry-eyed love songs tend to be shot through with presentiments of doom.» what does this have to do with Ricatoni’s? Consistency. Just like one minute from a CD of «Let’s Get Out Of This Country» or «My Maudlin Career» or «Desire Lines» instantly tell you this is a Camera Obscura set, my visits to this restaurant for steaming plates of pasta or excellent pizzas has never failed to satisfy me. And like Camera Obscura does not break new ground on «Desire Lines», Ricatoni’s just does straight ahead basic Italian with no fuss or flair but gets it right every single time. The interior is a bit off with a remodeled bar sharing space with a soda machine but if you need ambiance you can always sit outside on a lovely evening and enjoy Downtown Morgan Hill. Ricatoni’s will have specials on the menu to take advantage of local, seasonal produce(currently they have an artichoke salad and rhubarb coppetta listed) but I like the old favorites like chicken parmigiana with juicy chicken breasts coated in bread and sauce combined with an overflowing pile of fresh veggies. Combine that with some of the local wines they offer(Creekview Sauvingon Blanc Santa Clara Valley –Yeah! The Winery That Shall Not Be Named/Clos La Chance Zinfandel — Yuck!!!) and you have yourself an excellent meal at a very good price. Service is good and efficient if not overly chatty. One of my favorites in Downtown Morgan Hill! Recommended! Camera Obscura«Desire Lines»: Highly Recommended!!!

Wow… the high ratings on Unilocal are puzzling to me. I give one star for the service-in spite of the grim looking woman who was helping our waiter. If I could negative stars for food, I would. I was turned off right away because when we walked in, there was a strong odor of cleaning products — like the stinky kind they clean public bathrooms with. Kudos for cleaning the place but P-U! We got up from our table inside and moved outside but alas, the odor wafted outside too. Total turn off. Our server was nice enough. He checked on us often, making sure we had plenty of bread and that our water glasses were always full. Good thing he kept the bread basket full because that was about the only thing that we got that was edible. And we were starving. Everything was pretty bland and tasted kind of like it came out of a freezer. I’ll be nice and leave it at that. We ordered pasta, sandwiches — none of it was very good. I’m never ever eating here again.

If I were to come up with a motto for this place, it would be, «allergic to seasoning.» Staff was fine. Bread seemed fresh. I ordered a French Dip, and it was blaaaaaand, so so bland. How do you make a bland French Dip? I asked for the«Risotto» on the side. little did I know it was veggie risotto. Oh well, I tried it anyway… and *that* was bland, too! How?! My wife ordered a panini & minestrone(I think it was minestrone…). She’s pregnant and nearly everything tastes fantastic to her, but this stuff was no-go. On top of it all, it was an *expensive* lunch. A shame, it seems like a nice enough place.

Your experience will vary greatly depending on what you order. Our server told us that all the pastas and desserts are homemade. My boyfriend ordered the meat lasagna and it was rich, delicious and tasted homemade. It had plenty of bubbly cheese on top and comes in a huge portion. I ordered another pasta dish, the lobster and prawn mafalda with scallions in a white wine sauce. It was SO very bland, and I could hardly taste any white wine, scallions, or seasoning. It was a bleak, watery cream sauce and the pasta was overdone, not al dente. The crab cakes appetizer was good; I’d recommend that. The bread is also served fresh and warm. Something about the ambiance is a little depressing — i think it’s the fluorescent lighting and the lack of people(we had an early dinner). The outdoor patio is a better choice if it’s nice outside. Prices are quite reasonable, service is friendly. It’s not a bad experience, it’s just not a memorable one. A-OK.

After a couple of disappointing trips to our local Italian place in Gilroy, the hubby and I decided to try this place out. We’ve become regulars. The food is very good, the service is good and the prices are good. I’m not quite sure why some people gave it less than 3 stars. The prawn and lobster mafalda is yummy! So far I’ve had the following: Prawn and Lobster Mafalda, Tri Tip, Chianti Chicken, Lasagna(both meat and vegetarian), Pasta Primavera and the Eggplant Parmigiana. They make everything from scratch. I love the food here. I’ve also been here for brunch and it was delicious! I’ve tried every other Italian place in Gilroy and Morgan Hill and this is my favorite. I do wish they had Italian sodas though!

Fam went here between soccer games — all the food was great. Service great too. I had the Rueben, very tasty, yumbleishness marble rye, grilled veggies on the side. Plus, we had 4 hours to kill so we took over the middle of the restaurant while my daughters did their homework. The waiters didn’t care and kept our water and coffee filled the whole time. If I was in the area again, I’d go back for the ‘rami. One can never get enough of red, pickled meat. Ya feel me?

I went to edit my review and all that came up was this new form. I guess after few days the review got«filtered». I have yet to make sense of the filtering process as both good and poor reviews were included. I still would not return until there is a defined change. The female manager should be more willing to work with customers and the cooking staff needs to keep the ingredients fresh. I will return if this restaurant does better, I want this restaurant to succeed. Morgan Hill needs to have all of its restaurants show well.

The food is well made here. Actually smaller portion than expected. The could use some interior design tips. I don’t like the atmosphere. I think I’ll get it to go next time.

On my last visit here we had excellent, attentive service. We sat outside(where there is ample seating) and were attended to just as if we were inside. One of my favorite items is the berry apple salad: salad greens with green apples, toasted almonds, dried cranberries, fresh strawberries, berry vinaigrette and crumbled Gorgonzola cheese. Excellent! On my last visit I also had the panini: a generously portioned sandwich of Italian bread stuffed with mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, prosciutto, chicken breast, fresh basil and roasted red peppers. Yum! There is also a good variety of pastas on the menu as well as other sandwiches and salads. There is a diverse selection for everyone. Berry/apple salad: $ 9.99 Panini: $ 9.99 Lunch date outside with the spouse on a beautiful day: priceless

Warning! Check your drink to make sure there isn’t some disgusting piece of garbage in it! My first visit here was hell. Aside from the fact that I found a big brown mushroom-looking object in my iced tea(our server claimed that it was a piece of paper towel left from when the glasses were dried — NOWAY! I’ve seen better looking paper in the garbage), the staff did not make me feel welcomed at all. They saw my party and I come in. The girl who was in charge of seating us passed us multiple times and never once asked if we wanted to order to go or if she could help us in any way. After waiting for someone to offer a table for 5 minutes, I eventually asked guy drying the glasses behind the counter HOW we can get seated. He directed me to the same girl that was passing us by and ignoring us this whole time. Poor service and UNSANITARY place to eat.
