We came here based on Unilocal reviews and we were trying to catch a reprieve from the traffic driving home from Monterey. They treated us like an annoyance as soon as we arrived. It took a while for them to take our order, but once they did, it arrived quickly. One problem, my order was incorrect. I ordered the sea bass and they brought me the other Sea Bass on the menu; the one drenched in butter. Being lactose intolerant, I had intentionally ordered the one in marinara. When I told him it was the wrong Sea Bass he looked at me incredulously and said, «but everyone orders this one.» I said, «except me.» Once I got the correct order I knew why they must have ordered the other one. This one tasted like it had been frozen for 10 years, used as a hockey puck a few dozen times and then thrown in the microwave and called dinner. The texture was like rubber. The two small pieces of fish were alongside 3 Brussels sprouts and a quarter of a potato, all for $ 28. WAY overpriced and underwhelming. I didn’t complain because I just wanted to get back on the road and go home. They offered us no coffee or to see their dessert menu and I wasn’t surprised. The service was terrible. The only reason I’m giving this 2 stars is because my family liked their pasta. Whatever you do, don’t get the fish and don’t go here if you expect decent service when you eat out.

Been here several times to dine in. I’m usually there closing the place as the last table. Being that my family is from Sicily and Southern Italy, I had high expectations. This place served them well. The lobster ravioli… oh emm gee! The steaks are prepared perfectly and the deserts are devine. Giuseppe was our waiter. He’s great, so funny and cheerful! I have never had a bad experience. I’m trying to become a regular but I live so far. Why, oh why, can’t you be closer to me Sicilia in bocca?! I need my fix!

It’s not that the food isn’t good or the service is bad, but when they suggest something and you say no you don’t want the combo appetizer. Then the app comes and they argue with you. I know what I ordered. They didn’t even try to make it right.

I’ve been here twice. The first time, I ordered a New York steak and got a 32oz steak, which was pretty interesting since I’ve never had one so big, but a good chunk of it was pure fat. The second time I went, I ordered the filet mignon. They butterfly cut it(who does that?) and served it to me well done, when I asked for medium. When I told the waiter that it was way overdone, he got all mad at me and even mocked me for thinking it wasn’t perfect, and walked away. I didn’t know if he was joking or what, but after about 5 minutes I told someone else that it was overdone and he took it back with an attitude. Finally a new steak was brought out and he made me cut it in front of him to make sure it wasn’t over cooked. This time it was medium rare, which is fine with me, so I didn’t make a big deal out of it. He then brought to-go boxes for the rest of our party and completely ignored me for a good 20 minutes. He knew I wanted to ask him for a to-go box as well, since I didn’t want to make everyone else wait for me, and he passive-aggressively ignored me since they messed up my order, and I said something about it. The food here is mediocre at best, but the attitude of these douchebags is why I will never go back. If you want good authentic Italian, go to Maurizio’s instead. Their food is better, and they don’t like complete assholes with sticks shoved up their asses.

Loved this place!!! Was drawn in by reading Unilocal reviews about free bruschetta appetizer. We made in just in time to beat the rush that filled this little place. It was awesome! Fresh pasta, super yummy fresh bread AND bruschetta! Can’t wait to return!

I was really hoping to love this place since I live near by and this would be a great date night go to. I’m sorry to say it was extremely disappointing. To begin, the restaurant is cute but really needs an update. We sat down in a two person table next to a wall that was constantly getting banged which made it really distracting and NOT romantic like you would expect from an Italian restaurant. Also, they had music playing that was constantly skipping… not pleasing at all when you are trying to enjoy your date night. Now to the good stuff, or should I say bad stuff! We began with complimentary bruschetta, very bland, had better. I ordered the risotto porcini, my boyfriend ordered the gnocchi and the eggplant parm for an appetizer. The eggplant parm was nothing special. The eggplant was unevenly cooked, some where burnt and others where raw in some parts. They covered it with a lot of cheese which lets me know the knew they messed up but instead of starting over they gave it to us. Classy move! Next, a waiter that was not ours came by to tell my bf to order something else because they had no more gnocchi… this was after 30 minutes of waiting, wtf? So, he forcefully had to order something he didn’t really want but the waiter told him to because he said it was good so he took his word for it. Finally the food came out. My dish looked like it tasted, awful. I didn’t take a picture but believe me! It tasted like dirty water, at times like eggs, it had one giant mushroom and two other little pieces and that was all it took to call it porcini risotto. It was overall lacking all the things a traditional risotto has, like the creamy rich texture with an al dente bite. What I had was mushy and bland at best. My bf’s dish looked nice(I think it was ravioli) and it was OK, nothing he would order again but it was the best of the worst meal we have had in a while. The service was OK, nothing I would tip more for. Sad to say I won’t be coming back, usually I give restaurants a second chance if the dishes where somewhat delightful and if it was busy which was not the case that day. I don’t know why the 4 stars but maybe people need to try the real thing and then come here to taste the difference. I have had home made Sicilian dishes from my bf’s Sicilian Nona on a regular basis and I can honestly say this restaurant is far from the amazing stuff she cooks up.

The Ribeye=perfectly cooked, Salmon=wonderfully crisp outside but still melted in your mouth with tenderness, finally Lemon truffle dessert=WOW! I ordered 2 togo… I will be going back, way before my next bday!

Consistently the delicious Italian food we have grown to love. The wine is delicious, the food is always fresh, and the service is always very attentive. The complementary bruschetta is always fantastic! Whether you are coming in for a simple pasta dish or an authentic entrée, this is the place to go!

My husband took me here at 730pm on a Friday night. No wait. :D Were greeted and told to choose a table. We picked outside patio because it was a beautiful night. We were immediately greeted with a warm welcome. The staff were all extremely friendly and presented us with complimentary bruschetta. Delicious! They only serve beer and wine so as I looked at the wine list, I noticed that they offered imported Italian wine too. I tried the red blend and when they serve you it is the big wine glasses. Haha! It was so good I ordered 2 glasses worth. They have a variety of different items on the menu. My husband had the crab raviolis, which were very good. I choose the lobster linguini, but unfortunately they did not have lobster available(out of season). So I asked the waiter if he could recommend a prawn dish and if I could add garlic. He then explained to me that garlic doesn’t go well with any white sauces but can make prawn linguini with the same spicy marinara that my husband ordered. I went with his recommendation.(After all he knows better than I do!) It came out within 10 – 15 minutes. So fast! When the waiter brought out our entrees he asked if he could wait for me to take a bite to see if I approved or not. It was amazing!!! The noodles and prawns were so fresh. I always add hot sauce to everything, but no need. It was extremely flavorful. Over talking over a few glasses of wine we decided to look over the dessert menu. Ordered the café espresso gelato… to die for! It hit the spot! We definitely plan to go back and order the infamous ribeye. It smelt and looked delicious! It is probably 3 inches high and takes up an entire plate! You can definitely share! I have already recommended this little family owned gem to several people. We will be back sooner rather than later. ;)

Delicious food and good service, typical for an Italian restaurant in Italy(as opposed to in the USA). I lived in Rome for a year and have gone back to visit every few years. In Italy, meals are leisurely, wait staff is polite, but not necessarily overly friendly, the pasta is only lightly sauced, the protein portions are small, the food tends to be made to order and often takes a long time(by USA standards) to arrive. From my point of view, the food was fresh, excellent, well seasoned, good portions, prompt and as good as the best meals I’ve had in Italy. The service was great, helpful without being intrusive, and very friendly(including putting up with my no longer truly fluent Italian). If you want a great Italian meal, go there. I plan to go back as often as I can!

I have been sitting on this long overdue review, and need to get it out. First of all, we liked this little place, where when your here your family vibe. After my wife ordered a shrimp dish or should I say extra shrimp. You have to understand my wife loves shrimp, so when the dish came out with three(3) shrimps flailed in half to make six(6), she was none to happy. But this is not was not our first, second or third time there, so we pushed on with enjoying our meals. However we where seated at a table with a straight shot view from where my wife was seated into there tiny little kitchen. She stated that she could not eat another bite. I being a concerned hubby asked why and in a low voice whispered to mean that the chef wearing the glasses just scratched his backside underneath his clothes in the tiny little kitchen. I instantly became nauseous and we quickly paid for our meal and left for good. Sorry but to much family for my taste…

What You Will Find @ Sicilia In Bocca: 1) A cute little house with a great outdoor patio. 2) Complimentary bruschetta and bread. 3) A short wine by the glass list. 4) A server who will goad you into ordering your entrée with your drink because«We have a small kitchen!» 5) Speedily delivered Fried Calamari that wasn’t greasy and fresh tomato sauce for dipping. 6) Reasonably priced and well portioned al dente pasta. In record time, Hubby got his Spaghetti and Meatballs fix and I had the Linguine Puttanesca. My pasta was pretty salty with the capers, anchovies, black olives and tomatoes but not unexpected. I love garlic but in this dish it was nearly raw so I wish it had been cooked a bit longer. Our friends liked their dishes as well. 7) A casual, family friendly, local vibe.

Food was okay, but not in line with the prices. Waiters and their friends were noisy at the«family & friends table» next to the kitchen. And they went smoking by the back door, and left the door open(smoke into reataurant) and then carried the stink back in with them to our table. We will not be back. We’d much rather go spend this money at Ladera Grill, The Good Fork or Maurizio’s.

First off, you don’t come here for the service… You come here for the food. Now I do have to disagree with some other Unilocalers, truly the service isn’t nearly as terrible as several people have stated. But still give it a shot. The place feels very homey and the food is just wonderful!

I was greeted by a dog running around restaurant then at least a minute later a server smells of fresh cigarette smoke. The free bruschetta practically thrown on my table as the server seemed to want to return to his cigarette out back that he was smoking with the door opened. I don’t like raw tomatoes and if ASKED would have declined the dish this saving the waste. My spaghetti was not well drained so it water down the sauce which was actually quite good. That said, it’s not enough to return nor recommend this restaurant.

I was meeting a friend here for dinner and I Unilocaled a spot that was halfway between both of us. She’s in Watsonville and I’m in San Jose. Morgan Hill was perfect. This place is a cute little house that was converted into a restaurant and upon walking in I was happily greeted by our waiter. Inside, we were seated right next to the front window and like other reviewers mentioned, we were given two small slices of bruschetta and a small basket of bread. Since my friend doesn’t like tomatoes, I ate both slices while she helped herself to the basket of bread and butter. Let’s get to it shall we? Veal Saltimbocca: This came with the house salad and it was perfect. The spinach leaves were tossed in what tasted like an olive oil, lemon, salt, pepper, and balsamic vinaigrette. The portion was big enough for us to share. My actual plate had sliced potatoes, baby asparagus, and the veal wrapped prosciutto. The asparagus was on point– crunchy and tender. The potatoes were slightly salty and so was the veal. This is the only reason that I’m taking off one star. So was the house salad. Then again it could be me because I don’t put much salt on anything. The service however was impeccable. They truly made us feel at home here and for that alone I would want to come back.
