Ok this place is really good and better than any other italian place in myrtle beach. I got the carbonara and if was so creamy and delicious! I had no leftovers because it was so good! My companion got the lasagna and that was also wonderful! I’m returning here Everytime I go to myrtle beach! It is easy to miss and the parking lot is small though so park in the adjacent lot and you will be good!

I was greatly looking forward to a nice meal based on the reviews unfortunately disappointed in the food. The service and ambiance were exceptional. I had the Veal Lemone with a side of pasta. The Veal was tough and the pasta was overcooked, not aldente. The Veal had a nice lemon sauce which had a great flavor but the Veal was tough. Very disappointed. Prices were good, portions were generous. The salad was fresh and excellent house dressing. 2 stars for food, the service was 5.

I absolutely love this place. My girlfriend and I went here on our one year anniversary(which was New Year’s Eve). We thought it was going to be difficult to find a nice place to go on our anniversary because of the holiday, but they were able to accommodate us greatly. We went for lunch because she had to work that night, and let me just say their lunch prices are phenomenal for the quality of food you receive. It’s definitely an old school Italian joint, and being Italian, I had low expectations of what it would be like; however, this place exceeded my expectations in every way. We were seated right away, and our server, Tim, was just great. We took a little while deciding on wine because I love red and my girlfriend likes white, so he brought over some waters and gave us some recommendations for wine after reading us the daily specials. We were even able to sample a couple of wines before deciding on one. We ended up getting a great bottle of an Italian blended red wine — Badiola. I got the chicken marsala, and my girlfriend got the antipasto salad. Let me tell you both were extremely delicious. Everything tasted so fresh, like you were actually eating in Italy. The setup of the restaurant is kinda small but very intimate. There’s a small dining room and then the bar area with another small dining room around it. This is definitely a local place, but if you’re on vacation and want a nice romantic dinner with your significant other, I 100% recommend you go to Ciao. You probably need a reservation for dinner, but I would call also before lunch time just to make sure you can get a table.

Great food and excellent service. We both had the spaghetti with«mommas» meatballs and it was fantastic. We both thought that the meatballs were the best that we’ve had. She loved the leek soup as well. Our waiter Joshua was such a helpful and friendly soul and we enjoyed talking with him.

This is THE best Italian restaurant in Myrtle Beach. Joshua was our server and he provided my family and I with absolutely incredible service. Everything we ate was homemade, fresh, and delicious. Very reasonably priced for the quality of ingredients they’re using for their food. You’re crazy if you visit Myrtle Beach and DON’T come here. The marinara sauce reminded me of my nonna’s. My husband had veal parmigiana and said the veal quality was better than anything he has had in the Midwest(where beef is a major resource). The tiramisu and cannoli also reminded us of family recipes! I was beyond ecstatic with everything about Ciao! We will be back and recommend them to anyone.

Could not give it any lower didn’t get to sit down. Was told at the door only by reservation. Did not see that was the only way to get a seat on the web site or on Unilocal! Not sure if I will even bother going back. Tried to support local, Oh well guess they didn’t need my party of four.

Good genuine Italian food with friendly staff. Can get crowded though because it is a small restaurant and the people next to you can hear your conversation, since you are only two feet away from each other. Everything seemed fresh though and had lots of flavor.

The dishes were excellently prepared. The bread and pesto/olive oil dip was a great start. The salad’s produce was very fresh. For the main entrees 1) lasagna was outstanding, the meat was like butter and the sauce and cheese were the right proportions. 2) spaghetti carbonara’s pancetta added the right amount of smoke and the sauce was the perfect consistency 3) fettuccine Alfredo with chicken… you could smell the grilled chicken before the plate was on the table, and it tasted amazing. The cream sauce was superb as well. We were stuffed, so we took the tiramisu and crème brûlée cheesecake to go. Can’t wait to taste those.

On vacation in myrtle beach. I’ve been asking around for a good Italian restaurant. I was told that Caio was really good. So we tried it out My wife had the fresh mozzarella and tomatoes. She was told that they made it in house. Even though it was good it just didn’t seem home made. Usually fresh mozzarella is much softer this wasn’t. Then for an appetizer she had the mussels. The sauce was great and the mussels were seasoned perfectly. My 7 year old had the chicken fingers and fries. Fries were fine and the chicken fingers were made fresh(not frozen) which would have been great if they hadn’t over cooked them. Finally my meal, I ordered the baked clams for an appetizer. They can out very lite in color which meant either they don’t have a salamander or they just took it out way to early. Either way the clams tasted good but the seasoning and the sauce didn’t have it. For my entrée I had veal Parmesan and spaghetti. As soon as the waitress put it down I knew I was in trouble. I could see that the veal was over cooked(wasn’t pan seared but dropped in oil) and instead of complaining I figured that I should try it first. Usually if the veal is of good quality meaning not using the(leg of the veal) you should be able to cut though the veal with your fork. In this case using a knife was difficult. Anyway the sauce was good as well as the spaghetti both cooked perfectly. The deserts were good as well and so was the espresso and Capp. The waitress was great very attentive and always came back to check on us and by the way I never did complain. Maybe the head chef wasn’t there so I left it alone. Would I go back yes but to try something different.

Another great recommendation from Unilocal.Went for lunch the other day and loved it so much came back again for dinner. I was undecided at lunch and our waiter Ben recommended the walnut and spinach ravioli. I was reluctant because I am not a big fan of dishes using walnuts, Ben assured me that I would like it or he would get me something else. It was something I would’ve never ordered and am so glad that I trusted his judgement. It was a creamy tomato sauce and was delicious. My parents has it for dinner this evening and also loved it. Tonight I tried the lobster ravioli with shrimp and it was also delicious. Creamy tomato sauce with garlic and pieces of shrimp. Our waitress tonight, Emily was really friendly and we enjoyed talking to her. She was very helpful with the wine selection and made our our evening even better. Kudos to this place for their wonderful wait staff! Will definitely be back to try more dishes!

Really good homemade sauces. I ordered the Ciao Chicken. Three pieces of breaded chicken with lots of cheese, roasted red peppers, grilled zucchini, and tons of marina. The chicken, veal, seafood dishes comes with side of spaghetti. Pasta dished don’t. The manicotti was well prepared, lots of cheese. Salads are huge, really fresh ingredients. Fresh bread with butter but try the oil dip! Very small. Either make reservations or go before 6!

Caio was nicely decorated and felt like a step into an authentic Italian restaurant. The food was short of a slice of heaven. I had the chicken Caio. The serving was large with three pieces of chicken breast. The fresh vegetables and herbs really made the sauce extraordinary. We were given a referral by our hotel concierge. We arrived to the restaurant around 5 on a Friday night. What seemed slow paced and quiet soon turned to a very busy little spot. My recommendation is to make reservations, my party barely got seated to due to the reservations. It’s worth calling ahead to make sure you get seated.

I come from an Italian family with many superb cooks, so my palate is really hard to please when eating Italian. However, Ciao’s cuisine is to die for!!! Walnut Spinich ravioli– outstanding, a must try if you don’t mind a heavy cream sauce. I can eat just bread and the sauce myself. Chicken Parmigiana– really good too and a huge portion, so be hungry. Same goes for the Chicken Ciao. Lasagna — very tasty, almost as good as my grandmothers homemade. It’s a smaller portion, which is perfect if you grab an appetizer. This was our second time eating there and it’s a great place. Make reservations if you can. Sorry, we didn’t have room for desert, but I’m sure it’s outstanding too.

Being spoiled by creativity and true flavors of Italian food from NJ-NY area, this place is average. One of the dishes we ordered, was veal marsala which did not get ANY salt. The rest… ok!

I’ve been here several times, very very tasty and good service. The last time we visited the food was a little over salted and too much sauce over everything BUT it was still good :) Mushroom ravioli is great but I always add shrimp or chicken Bread is deadly… meaning you won’t want to put it down! Go early because place is tight and it gets very busy during dinner

Really, really good. The parking lot is terrible. The space isn’t that big. You kind of have to wrestle for a reservation. This place had put up a lot of obstacles. But it was worthwhile when we finally went. Our server was professional and prompt without being overbearing. The bread was nice and the potato & leek soup was great. The entrees were ridiculous. Normally a place gives you too much pasta. And they did. But the seafood quantity was almost too much, and that isn’t a bad thing. –1 for not removing the obviously unopened mussel. That’s a quality control thing, and chances are I wouldn’t have noticed it if it wasn’t there. But the parking lot is still terrible. I’d still go back.
