How cool is it that Martio’s has been in existence since 1958? We had a nice meal last evening… we started with the vegetable soup – our waiter informed us it is a relatively new item added in the last year or so. It was chock full of carrots, celery, tomato, white beans, bow tie pasta, with greens. Nicely flavored and not too salty. A bit bummed that we did not get the promised garlic bread with it(plain bread instead) but we made do and enjoyed it! We followed the soup with the traditional cheese pie. Martio’s does this right! Yummy. Nice balance of cheese to tomato and a relatively thin crust. It’s hard to stop at two slices, but we did and took the rest home. We always enjoy Martio’s…the décor, cool wooden booths, and tiffany lamps make it so warm and welcoming. Try it, you’ll like it!

My favorite pizza place in Rockland County!!! I LOVE the brick oven pizza.. The regular pizza is great too but i usually get the brick oven when I’m in the pizza mood. Otherwise I usually get the Baked Ziti. The side salad with mozzarella is always fresh and tasty. For desert I love the canolis! Yum. Been coming here for many many years. Staff is very friendly, only thing I would suggest is check and see if we need a refill every now and then. Food is always great!

What a gem! Great clean, family atmosphere! Great eggplant parm, great wood fired pizza, great regular pizza, etc., etc., etc. Just a great place. Very interesting on inside. I love the small beer glasses. Nanuet is lucky this place is here. I wish it wasn’t so busy! Employees are friendly and it is obvious they take pride in the food and where they work.

Good local pizza place – so nice to see it’s still thriving, amongst the new restaurants & new shops at Nanuet. It hasn’t changed much since the 70;s-80s — part of it’s charm. Good fresh food & a decent pizza pie.

Personal Brick Oven pie has gotta be the best around! Meatballs disappointing though — very«gluey» due to excessive filler — breadcrumbs, flour, etc. needs more meat and maybe more parsley and pamesan cheese — less bread like material!

Went here a while ago and there was absolutely no salt in the sauce on the pizza and pasta. It just doesn’t taste the same if you add it. It’s a shame because martios used to be great

Not impressed. Portion size too small for the price. Service was not friendly and slow. Pizza was horrible. It is a machine made pie. Real pizza does not come from a machine, it is made by hand. All of this Nanuet Hotel/Restaurant style thin crust crap is a joke. It is NOT pizza.

Good thin crust with a nice char at the outside crust. Nice price for an individual serving pizza.

I thought there was no good pizza in Rockland County until I found this place. They have brixkoven pizza which is one of the best Ive had. Also the menu is extensive. The subs are great, Ive tried the veal, chicken parm and the pepper and egg. All were fantastic. They use very good bread. No delivery but worth the ride.

Pizza served with a bunch of religious bull! Really do we need to read the ten commandments and other religious quotes in order to get a table. We ordered a couple of pies and a couple of sandwiches. The meatball parmesan sub was dry. I asked for some marinara and the waitress seemed put off. I got the feeling she just didn’t like us because she never brought me the sauce and for that matter didnt serve us for the rest of our dinner. By the way the Jesus i know would never seve a dry meatball sub. Someone should do penance for that mistake! Pizza was good. Service was bad. And the dose of religion was off putting. Will find alternatives in the future.

I came here for the first time three years ago, to take my wife out for a quick lunch break since Pfizer is just down the street from here(can’t expect a good lunch crowd on Fridays bc of this). I don’t recall having such a good thin crust pizza from a wood burning oven, it was a unique taste, earthy almost, added depth to the cheese and made the sauce taste even better, I could’ve easily eaten four slices but I stopped at three and chose to taste their baked ziti instead. I wasn’t a fan of the pasta, but I will definitely return for another slice next time I am in the area. Quick service with a friendly staff, can eat on the go or sit at a booth.

This is the pizza of my dreams. It was great when I was a teen, and it’s just as good now in my middle 50s. I make a point of eating pizza here whenever I can. After 12 years Down South, I have a lot of pizza to make up for!

I was traveling for business and this place popped up on Unilocal.I try to support small businesses whenever I can. The menu isn’t very big but when you do something right, keep doing it. My coworker and I ordered the same thing — a small pepperoni pizza and side salad. The food was very good. I like when you can tell that the salad was chopped by someone in the restaurant and didn’t get pulled out of a bag. The pizza was the right size and none of it went to waste. Service was quick and attentive but didn’t make us feel rushed. I’d go back here if I return to the area. I’d like to try some of their other Italian specialties. The place was full of locals and there are many other choices nearby. Skip the chains and support this place.

This is a review of our take out order: Ordered 2 personal pies from the wood burning oven and it was fantastic! Thin, crisp yet still chewy. Topping were in proper proportion and good quality. Staff was friendly and very helpful. I would love for this place to be my neighborhood joint Would love to have a meal there next time I’m in the hood

I have been coming to this pizza restaurant for 35 years. The Italian combo I ordered in 1980 taste like the combo I ordered today outstanding. A blond woman who owns it was a waitress back then and a great person. They used to have a rope and pulley system to open the door for those carrying out pies. Some updates are probably needed in the furniture but it might take away from the ambience. How about trying some nice local top craft beers? I’ll eat here till the day I die.

Yes I gave it five stars . Holly cow that’s good pizza. The ambiance is really nice . Really good service. great family atmosphere .the wait on a Saturday night long. Good places always have long waits . The place was packed . The pizza is so thin, crispy, toasty and deleeeeeliscious. This is what I call a pizza restaurant . Yes come here, have a beer and enjoy the pizza . .

As visitors from CA, we came in looking for an authentic NY/NJ pizza experience… while I can’t say this was the best pizza I’ve ever had, it was definitely pretty good! We ordered a large pizza with pepperoni, peppers, and mushrooms. We asked for half of it to be without cheese and with extra sauce, as my fiancé doesn’t eat cheese. They did a great job of fulfilling our request, making sure the cheese from one half didn’t run into the other half, and being generous with the extra sauce without negatively impacting the pizza flavor. The service was fast and friendly. The only downside is that this place only allows you to order a 16 inch large at lunch time — we would have liked to have the option of ordering a medium instead. Overall, a solid spot!

A homely pizza spot in Rockland for some brick oven(after 1pm or 5pm depending when you come) and other italian food. Managed to get the brick oven pizza, got the cheese since I wanted room for lasagna also. The pizza itself was only okay, thin slice that was extra hot and a little burnt at the bottom. The lasagna was good, served in a bowl, with flavorful garlic bread. Could have used more sauce. Service was excellent and I got my food pretty fast. Beer selection could be better though. Overall a nice place but just okay pizza.
