So, chef owner? Usually doesn’t get better than that, and they didn’t disappoint. It was our first time there after a referral from a friend and it was all he said it was. My bother was Executive Chef at Tavern on the Green in NYC and a number of other high end NYC restaurants so I know food pretty well. I could immediately tell from the style of menu choices, that we were in for a great meal. Anna our server was wonderful. Attentive without being overbearing. Great sense of humor too! All our plates were presented beautifully, and cooked to chefs recommendation on temperature. The special Buffalo rib eye was perfect! Grouper the freshest. Highly recommend it. We’ll definitely be back.

Waited over two hours for our entrees. When asked about the delay, waiter said it was coming. Once it finally appeared, tuna was a mediocre cut at best, chicken was warm, grouper was good. When we spoke to the manager, she blamed the waiter and said he should have told her. Probably won’t return, given the other choices in the Naples area. The LMK and I returned to Alexander’s for dinner Saturday evening(Feb. 6, 2016) with two friends. In the past we had agreed it was a perfectly pleasant restaurant, particularly if one sits outside. However, the last several times weather had forced us inside. When seated we were presented with the wine list and though we had eaten here several times in the past it floored me with the restaurant’s mark-up on its pedestrian wines. I know, I know, this is a universal practice in the food and beverage industry but not a wise one when your menu’s wines are readily available at Costco and/or Sam’s for a fraction of Alexander’s price. But, discussing Alexander’s wine policies is not the reason for this review. Read on… The LMK ordered«Butterfish(Sea Bass?)» and was perfectly pleased with it – however, the portion was very small. I opted for a salad and two appetizers, in lieu of an entrée. The Caesar salad was good and included an anchovy(just one, but, most restaurants no longer offer anchovies); the salad was large and I shared some with the LMK. Next up was the escargot and this is where the adventure began… The escargot’s bowl was very hot(think nuclear) but strangely the snails and sauce were lukewarm, tepid, if you will. After eating a couple of mollusks(Google it) I gathered my plate and bowl and found our waitress. She said she thought the order had come out too fast and would get me another. Very quickly Alexander’s second gastropod attempt arrived and, unbelievably, it replicated the identical problem as before. Reluctantly, at the LMK’s insistence(«Shut up and eat ‘em!»), I ate them. Our waitress stopped by to see if the second order was satisfactory. As it was not, I convinced her to stick her finger in the sauce to gauge its temperature and she immediately said she would remove the appetizer from our bill(even though I had eaten all of them). This was the correct thing for the restaurant to do. My second appetizer, mussels, arrived and was consumed without incident. I must say, however, I much prefer Bleu Provence’s version of this dish(more ‘garlicky’) but it was piping hot and good. And to end the evening, the restaurant’s computer was down and had to resort to the old fashion mechanical credit card machine to accept our payment! I would be remiss, however, if I did not mention the high level of service, attention and professionalism our waitress, Lisa(I think), exhibited. We, as diners, expect this but often are disappointed. Kudos to Lisa(I think)! Note to the restaurant’s owners: PLEASECONSIDERGETTING A LIQUORLICENSE!

When you are looking for an intimate dinner with your best friend or a special celebration, Alexander’s is the restaurant to reserve. Quiet and professionally attended, I don’t know what else you can ask for. Strongly recommend dining outside where the garden is romantic and well maintained. We travel down from Maine and this is an automatic reservation for us and it should be for you too. Can’t wait to return.

Great Food, great service and a nice atmosphere. I returned to Naples for the first time in two years and couldn’t wait to go to Alexander’s where I had had my favorite restaurant meal of all time on my previous trip. We sat in the courtyard and the weather was just perfect. Our server Bridgette and back waiter Sam were great. Being the Saturday night of Easter weekend we had to wait a little while for our entrees but we had some good wine so we were content until they arrived. I was a little nervous that due to the large crowd the seafood risotto would not be as good as I remembered it but it was just as good, if not better. This dish is just fantastic with the fresh seafood cooked perfectly and the risotto done just right. Family members who I dined with raved about their entrees as well. Don’t miss Alexander’s when in Naples!

Food and service always top notch. Specials are great along with doing all of their seafood and fish dishes well. Outdoor dinning is great.

I had the worst dining experience tonight at Alexander’s. It was my first time and my last time at this restaurant I had ordered the Irish Organic Salmon. When asked why«Irish» the waiter told me it was because they were grown in Ireland. The manager later corrected her saying it was just a name. I ordered my salmon well done. It was served raw. They took it back to cook it more. The problem is they cooked everything else on the plate. So I got my salmon cooked well done but also got burnt potatoes. The salmon was very fishy. So I never finished my entrée. The rest of the meals served to the table were cold. The waitress was sarcastic and condescending The worst part was the attitude of the manager. Mistakes happen. A simple apology would have gone a long way. But she never came over to the table. Instead she chose to give us dirty looks from afar. When we got up to leave she rushed to the back of the restaurant to get out of sight so we could not speak to her. I spoke to one of the head waiters on the way out and expressed my frustration with the manager. He did not apologize either. He just said«ok». I guess«I am sorry’ is not in the vocabulary of the staff of Alexander’s. I cannot believe the business acumen of this manager. I hope she is related to Alexander. There can be no other reason why she would be working here. Do not waste your time or money here. There are so many better restaurants in Naples with good food and people who value their customers. No good

Nice place. Good food. Good atmosphere. Good people. Gas station beer list. They need to discover craft beer if they want to serve anyone under 70.

We had lunch earlier this week. Soft shell crab entrée was sublime. Bisque and crabmeat sliders were perfection. Wonderful service. Reminded us that we should come more often. Setting is magical and we love that the staff has been the same over the years. Our favorite spot in north naples.

Enjoyed the outside patio with a group of friends for lunch. Crisp salads were just the ticket in the afternoon heat. Portobello/tomato/radicchio in balsamic. Mmm. The steak slices with Gorgonzola crumbles was a happy arrival, as was the ahi tuna. Another welcomed dish was sautéed corvina over bismati rice. Chased by glasses of Wente Chardonay — lunch was superb for all.

Eclectic menu with a comfortable ambiance. I had a lamb shank that was delicious. My wife had Grouper that she described as terrific. Wine choices were broad. The setting was inside; although, there is a courtyard dining area. Service was great. Was a bit disturbed by some banging out back or upstairs though. Was told it was a back door that was being opened and closed for some reason. If it wasn’t for that disturbance I would have given it another ½ star(if possible). Will give this place another«go see» next season. Would like to try for lunch on the courtyard. Also, there is a small bar area I noticed on the way out.

We dined at Alexander’s delightful restaurant numerous times during the season in January and February 2014. The service was superb and the food was delectable. The lamb was a favorite, tender and perfectly cooked. Dining al fresco in the beautiful courtyard in the January is truly a treat. We’ll definitely be back for more.

No. Just say no. Poor food quality(tough ribeye(or was it a ribeye, as advertised?), frozen yellowtail, banal salad) and poor service(supercilious and slow). At $ 30 per entrée prices. And you can’t see your food because of the low lighting on the patio. This place appears to be mired in the past, where possibly they had higher standards. But now — ripe for Restaurant Impossible.

We’ve gone to Alexander’s for years. Went there tonight and the snooty greeter turned us away saying they had no tables, when in fact they were at most half full. We think it’s because we weren’t dressed in old person blazers. Unfortunate that a great restaurant has gone down the tubes. We’ll instead go to any one of the dozens of excellent restaurants within a mile of their location. Sad.

Party of four enjoyed a fantastic meal. Food was delicious and well presented by a friendly wait staff. No complaints from this group of happy diners. All special orders were accepted and delivered flawlessly. Will definitely make this a regular place to go for a great dining experience.

Gone there a lot but it has gotten to be the same old, same old. Lovely outside dining but the chef isn’t very exciting. Flavor profile is just medium which is probably just fine with the many older folks who frequent the place(that’s us!). Still we like a little more pizazz with the flavor. Good but only good… not a lot of finesse.

Very pleasant upscale restaurant with good food. Excellent ambiance with indoor and outdoor seating(outdoor is better). A popular spot during the season in Naples with an interesting, eclectic menu. Service was excellent even though they were jammed to the rafters even the bar was full with diners, not drinkers. Good spot to take friends because it is not too loud to have a conversation in pleasant surroundings. Easy to get to with lots of parking it is a surprising little gem — the only thing missing is a water view.

This cute little restaurant that is really a little hidden gem gets only 3⁄5 because of my inept ordering skills. So technically, it could be considered my fault. Oh well. I’m the one writing… The mushroom and goat cheese with phyllo dough appetizer was flaky, creamy, and delicious. But with those ingredients, what wouldn’t be? Seriously. For my main, I ordered the mussels. They were a bit fishier tasting than any I’d ever had, but the real issue was the lack of broth. There was about 3 tablespoons of liquid, which I thought was weird. Maybe it’s a preference thing, but there isn’t anything much better than dipping really good bread into that buttery creamy broth. Except there was none. Sads. Dessert was alright — we had the mini key lime pie(can’t go wrong there), the Greek yogurt healthy option(I wanted my parents and grandma to try it for the first time), and the Snickers pie(didn’t taste anything like Snickers, but I was told it was alright). If you go — don’t let the health menu scare you off — we ordered two options from it and they might have been the best things we ate — the Greek yogurt previously mentioned and the butterfish with mango chutney. My mom got the butterfish and I probably ate more of her food than my own. It was SO good. To recap: order off the health menu. Butterfish is a yes, as is the Greek yogurt. Plus you can leave with a really smug sense of self-control while still getting to eat yummy and satisfying foods.
