The rumor I heard is that André is a former waiter at Peter Lugar’s in New York and that André’s is knock-off of Peter Lugar’s. Knock-off or not, André’s is an excellent old-school steakhouse. And, yes, it’s eerily similar to Peter Lugar’s, from the décor to the service(Thank you, Jim!) and, most importantly, the food. The Porterhouse for Three was enough for four. We asked for and received a medium-rare steak. The meat had a beautifully crispy charred crust on it that was perfect. And Schlag on ANYTHING for dessert is heavenly. We’ll be back, again, for sure.

If you want to get the Peter Lugar experience less the 1,200 mile or so car ride from Naples try Andre’s! It’s old school here, not the new fangled ‚“chainey” way of Ruth’s Chris or capital grill. Stick with the basics, Andre’s salad, creamed spinach, steak for two or three(porterhouse). I suggest medium rare and leave it at that! Hit a happy hour somewhere else on your way there if you want a «deal». Andre’s is for a steak fix. Not exactly easy on the wallet here but if you have ever been to Lugers in Brooklyn you’ll appreciate the local guy giving you the«experience«without the shlep.

I can see how people could rate this a two star experience, as well as a four star experience. I’m going right down the middle with three stars. This place was quite literally 40 feet from my hotel room door, so even with the so-so reviews, I’m a lover of steak, and it was just way too conveniently located to pass up. If you happen to be a regular here, they lay it on pretty thick. I saw the waitstaff and owner falling all over themselves for one of their regulars, and even kissing the lady’s hand. So, if you come here often, I can see how you may bump them to a four star rating. I, however, am not a regular, but the service was still above average. I asked my waiter which steak he would recommend, and of course he said all of them were exquisite, but he recommended a cowboy steak, which he explained was a boneless ribeye. I went with the waiter’s recommendation on the steak, and added a lobster tail. I also added steamed asparagus, the sides are an additional charge, none come with the steak. They had some sort of toasted beer that I cannot remember the name of, but it was good, and I ordered three of them. When my steak arrived, it was cut for me, which I guess is their thing. The server put several pieces of the steak on my plate, and dished up some asparagus for me. I don’t mind paying good money for steak, but this steak did not taste aged. It was cooked to perfection, but it fell well short of other establishments. The lobster tail was fair, but there was nothing spectacular about the asparagus, and I wondered why I had paid ten dollars for it. The service was good, the ambience was ok, but for the price, I expect a better steak.

I am really not a huge fan of this steakhouse. I would honestly prefer to dine at main stream restaurant, such as Ruth-Chris, for the quality and price that you would be served here.

For the price, this place was garbage. From the service, to the value, to the quality. The dingy décor, cold steak, bob fm playing in the background, them trying to charge $ 12.50 for a glass of Berenger, the server never checking back on us, and a fatty $ 80 piece of steak are just a few of the things that make me wonder how this place remains open. There are so many other great steak houses in Naples that to waste an evening at this one is sacrilege.

I have gone to Peter Lugers, Smith & Wolensky and other great steakhouses; this is NOT one of them! Very disappointed, decided to go because previous reviews compared this establishment to those previously mentioned, all lies. Place is dark & dated. The meat is supposed to be aged, did not taste like it was. The menu is as pricey as those steakhouses but the quality is not there. Service however was very good and attentive but overall just a local steakhouse who basically is way overpriced.

Top-flight steak experience, absolutely on a par with Peter Luger’s in Brooklyn, NY. Dry aged steaks cooked to perfection, served with Old World savior-faire, classic accompaniments, and excellent attention to detail. We started with salads: I had the wedge, which is served with crumbled blue cheese, onions, tomatoes, a thick blue cheese dressing and lardons, which are what one would expect from a high-end French restaurant.(Lardons are diced, thick cut bacon.) My fiancée had the Andre Salad, which is a chopped salad that employs their signature steak sauce in the dressing. It, too, was delicious. The«steak for two» was a generous, dry aged Porterhouse almost two inches thick! We ordered it medium rare, and it was perfection. It is served crackling hot, replete with spattering butter, and already cut off the bone. The elegant Hungarian waiter propped the platter on a small inverted plate, gave the steak one final braise of hot butter before serving a few slices on to each diner’s plate with a one-handed fork-spoon combo. We shared a side dish of creamed spinach, which is generously seasoned with nutmeg. It was just what you would expect: thick and tangy. We split an order of apple strudel«mit Schlagobers»(whipped cream), and it was excellent, too! My only quibble is with the kitschy«art» and the absence of white table cloths. I know they are reproducing Luger’s «chop house» ambience, but we are in Florida, after all, and $ 80 for a steak for two should afford the diner a tad more comfort than a booth at Denny’s. We will make a point of visiting Andre’s on every future trip to Naples.

If you like Peter Lugar’s in Brooklyn… you will equally like Andre’s…Bruno, the waiter cum chef, is superb… steak sauce delicious. salads fresh and crisp… filet mignon done perfectly… décor feels like Williamsburg section of Brooklyn… in one the less in a strip mall(everything in FL is) next to a podiatrist… parking easy… and convenient if your feet hurt.

My husband and I bit the bullet and went out on Valentines Day. We were thrilled to get a last minute 5:00 reservation for Andre’s, which we had been wanting to try. We should have stayed home! There is zero ambience, our waiter HERMAN seemed very annoyed that he was working and having to serve us. He even made a rude comment when I dropped my fork on the floor. Yes HERMAN, we heard you. My husband and I do not drink but had a bottle of Voss water and the owner Andre himself made a comment to try and not to get to drunk! Now to the food, mediocre at best! Everything is al a carte, which we knew, but absolutely don’t mind if the food is worth it. We started with the tomato and onion salad, which was nothing remarkable. The steak was just okay, at $ 54.95! For the sides we had the creamed spinach and mushrooms and both were barely warm and again unremarkable. Andre’s appears to me to be a restaurant that caters to regulars. We got the impression that even though we are year round residents we were treated like tourists that they will never see again. Shame on them.

On a recent trip to Andre’s over valentines day, my wife and I had an extremely disappointing experience. We arrived soon after they opened but were met with staff that was surly, food that was mediocre, cold and extremely over priced and an owner who’s opinion of himself is second to none. If he put as much effort into his food as he does with his witty banter to customers that borders on outright rudeness this would be some place. With such a wonderful and vibrant food scene as exists in Naples, it is some kind of miracle that this place has any customers at all. I wouldn’t return here for a free meal.

Very unremarkable, very expensive, everything a la carte, steak just okay, potatoes soggy, would never go back, place is old and dated, looks like a German beer ambience at all, and it was my birthday too.

This was our go-to steak house in Naples for over 10 years. My husband grew up in NYC and always enjoyed Peter Lugers. We were excited to find an exact replica here. Unfortunately, the last three times we ate at Andre’s the quality of the steak was far below prime. We always order the porterhouse for four. Each of the last three visits the cut was very thin and therefore too easily overcooked. The meat was dry and chewy. Not at all like the thick juicy meat we have come to love and expect. Though we still dream about Peter Lugers and continue to eat there every visit to NYC, we will no longer waste our money at Andre’s. We now eat our weekly steak dinner at Fleming’s. They aren’t like Peter Lugers but at least we consistently get a prime piece of meat that is cooked properly.

Used to go here a lot as a kid with my grandparents. Haven’t been in about three years now. Obviously expensive(it’s a steak house), but probably my second favorite steak house of all time(second only to one of the top ranked steak houses in the U.S. in Houston, TX). If you are looking for a quality meal that involves some red meat in the Naples, FL area, this is the only place to go. Also, Andre is a great dude(hoping he is still alive, and if not, *was).

Over rated big time. Steak for two was like B. Side dishes worse, German potatoes were like sad frozen hashbrowns. Outback steak house would have been a better dinner and half the price. Save your money.

This is my favorite steakhouse in Naples. The porterhouse for 2 is what i order when visiting here. It is dry aged beef modeled after the famous Peter Luger’s Steakhouse in New York. I bring all my customers visiting from Europe who request a great American steak. Tonight we had the porterhouse for 2, baked pototoe with sour cream butter salt and peper, and the cream spinach. You can’t go wrong here. The service and hospitality is awsome. Rhe steak comes out on a sizzling platter. Don’t miss this place when you are in town!

This place is awesome. The Porter House for 3 was worth every dollar– buttery goodness that just melts in your mouth. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great steak with some cool old school atmosphere!

Great service. If you like Peter Lugers in NYC then this is right up your alley. Filet was cooked perfectly, lamb was amazing. Pricey for wine by the glass and in general. Atmosphere dark and old.

Once was enough. Service was slow, butter came out but we waited quite a while for bread. Andre, the owner even asked«where’s the bread? Food was mediocre, T-bone for two was greasy, chewy and medium rare as requested, in parts, but well-done in others. German potatoes were non-descript. Ambiance was from the 70’s even though they opened in the 90’s. Did Andre take over a defunct German restaurant and keep the décor?

Welcome to 1970. Décor was old. Plates and glasses with owner name on it. Owner greets in shorts, too much jewelry and smells of smoke and cologne. Probably a very nice gentleman, but 1st impression not good. Food was ok. All four of our steaks were not prepared properly. Crispy potatoes were a soggy mess and mushrooms and asparagus were meh. Nice wine list, been there done that. Will never go back.
