Outstanding Service: Patient with answering able to answer questions RE ingredients in meals, no problem with making substitutions on on sides. Seamless coordination with bus staff, food delivered quickly & at same time, very attentive to offering drinks but not annoyingly so. I went with my parents, aunt & uncle. As I started to order our server asked if we wanted separate checks which was the 1st clue that she was really observant & proactive. Later when she heard my uncle say he wished he ordered some sautéed mushrooms. 5 minutes later they were on the table. They weren’t even on the menu as a side dish but they were mixed in some else’s side dish. She also heard my mom mention my aunt’s birthday just passed & mine’s coming up so our desserts came with candles – a cute touch topping off really pleasant, attentive & simply outstanding service(that’s a huge compliment coming from a former waitress with high standards). Food: Bread served with butter and a dish of oil dip. It’s yummy & u can have have as much as u like but you definitely wanted to save room for dessert! I got the Escargot appetizer & within minutes of its arrival my uncle & dad ordered their own that was delivered in a jiffy. I had the seared scallops & bamboo rice which were amazing! Everybody was delighted with their dinners even my notoriously picky mom. My dad got the whole snapper & it was quite literally whole and he thoroughly enjoyed it. I made him take the picture & turn it away from me bc I didn’t really like it staring at me. I didn’t really have room for dessert but when I coconut custard pie with salted caramel sauce I couldn’t resist. Not just ordering it either, I dove right in before I took a picture! Lot of laughter about that considering I was taking pics of everyone else’s food before letting them eat it! Misc. Tips when sitting outside: If you’re sitting outside & worried it’s going to rain, close ur weather app and trust the staff – they’ll move u inside with plenty of time to spare. And if u want to sit in the rain, they’ve got an umbrella for the table. The view to the beach is unobstructed so u can enjoy the spectacular sunsets from ur table. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing them there before – last night was overcast so no real sunset to see which is a great excuse to go back soon :-)

Don’t come for the food, but do come for the view. Beautiful facility, we came knowing it was Jazz night on the lawn. Food is mediocre, no specials on music nights but you don’t pay the $ 15 to park if you eat here. Service is also nothing to write home about. Do not expect the corporate feel of a Ritz here, still very family owned, musty smell of old Naples. Great bar to watch the sunset, hang on beach. Restrooms stink for the restaurant, it’s outside and small. instead, go inside and use the one in the lobby area.

I don’t understand the bad ratings! My wife and I went there with a couple of friends, we had a table outside and properly the best view in Naples! The service was amazing and the food fantastic! Seriously a perfect evening

This place has a WONDERFUL view of the beach and sunset, my goodness! My husband and I made reservations for outside, that they somehow messed up, but it was fixed. The grilled Caesar salad was amazing. We were pretty satisfied with the food. He ordered steak, I ordered grouper. The waiter knew just about everything with the menu. ONE downfall: The food took longer then expected to arrive at our table. It’s so nice to go around 7pm. I think it’s the best time to go

We chose this place for the view and I am pretty sure that is what we paid for; because we received a great view, but mediocre food at a five star price. I ordered the 7oz fillet with fingerling potatoes, my sweetheart order the strip with shrimp. Zero season to the meat, an amateur grill master could have done the same on a weekend cookout. Broke my rule and didn’t Unilocal before we came to eat. Won’t make that mistake again.

Great view but the food and service was meh. Overpriced for dry filet and overcooked lobster. Stone crabs were also disappointing. Best things were the risotto and piña colada.

Amazing view of the beach. Amazing sunset. Best Oceanside view in Naples! Hands down. Good service. Decent food. Excellent lobster trail. Good lamb shank. Not the best filet or pasta. Paying for the view and absolutely worth it. Enjoy!

LESSON #1). ALWAYS read Unilocal before going to a restaurant. I picked HB’s for Valentines dinner because of an article I read online saying it was one of the most romantic restaurants in Naples. Don’t believe everything you read online… and Unilocal is real from real people(most of the time). This restaurant was like the cafeteria at an old folks home. Really not romantic. The food was sub par. The ribeye tasted like something I would eat at a backyard Bbq. The only thing that tasted decent were the scallops. I’ll never go back

My wife and I had been to HBs on the Gulf about 8 years earlier and really enjoyed it. So, when we were back in Naples a few weeks ago, we decide to have a sunset dinner there. We thought we should make reservations as the last time we were there, it was packed and we had to wait awhile for a table. When we got there for our 7:30 reservation, we noticed very few people there. In fact, there were only 3 other tables occupied. We were seated and only saw one more party seated for the hour and a half we were there. The décor was 1990s. The staff seemed friendly but it was difficult to understand their accents. The menu selections was limited(5 or 6 dishes) and averaged about $ 30. Our cocktails were ok. However when the food arrived, both our dinners tasted very bland. We were very disappointed. I would definitely not return and could not recommend this place to anyone.

To change an outstanding menu just for the sake of change was really stupid! That doesnt mean its better. Bring back the old menu. Felt like a steak this evening your only option is a 12oz ny strip. For heaven sake bring back your amazing filet mignon. New menu is filled with wordy ingredients with no substance! My husband ordered short ribs they came in a bowl and were sooo tuff he had to ask for a sharp knife and kept tipping his bowl over trying to cut it! Awful!!! Bring back the old menu. Chips and hummas were a lovely starter but they stopped that too! Bargh! Not coming back!

One of my go-to places when in Naples. We come for the view although the food is also good. This is one of the few restaurants on the gulf in Naples and the only one that I know of in the city of Naples. It’s roughly a mile from the pier. You are pretty much right on the beach when dining. Large outdoor area and also an air conditioned indoor area. The menu is not too large but the food is always good, not great, but good. As can be expected, the price is high, but then again we’re in Naples and somebody has to pay for the view.

Oh yes… Hb’s on the Gulf… I liked it. We came, we saw, we ate, we drank, we left. To sum it up. Went to check out the glorious sunset from on the patio deck, got there in the nick of time, as this place loaded up with the people wanting to do the same thing. Ordered the Conch Fritters and a Long Island and waited until 7:33…whished I hadn’t forgot my sunglasses, if you sit outside, they’re a must, as there is no cover or shade, regardless a good time was had by all, and after the thunderous(kidding really) clapping as the sun slipped beneath the horizon we were off… never to return again… haha… I don’t know, it was a bit pricey for me, but I liked the atmosphere, and they had a band that was gearing up to play in their main area. I’d go back. :-)

Located at the Naples Beach Hotel. It’s nothing fancy, but a nice spot to chill and enjoy the scenic view. Came here for what we thought was going to be a light lunch by ordering some appetizers. Little did we know the portions were going to be gigantic. The 4 chicken quesadillas were enormous and oozing with cheddar cheese. The fried calamari was served with a unique marinara remoulade sauce. I poured it all over the calamari and even started dipping the quesadillas in it. Washed everything down with a Red Stripe and watched a dolphin diving in the Gulf of Mexico from our table. You almost felt like it was staged like in the movie Funny Farm with the deer, «cue the dolphin». It’s not fine dining as you are seated on a deck on patio furniture, but it’s hard to beat the surroundings. Make it a destination if you’re an out of towner and checkout the sunset bar next door for a piña colada. It is open to the public, so you do not need to be a guest at the hotel.
