Great place for breakfast and kids friendly. We go here atleast once a month. The food is good. Service is not bad, but not exemplary either.

Food is very good but the restaurant is dirty. The light fixtures have an inch thick of dust, and the bathroom seems to not be checked in on throughout the day. Staff is wonderful though.

Best breakfast in the area, including surrounding towns. Perfect for bringing the kids. I’ve been here ~10 times. I’ve tried omelettes, French toast, pancakes, eggs. All were excellent. Haven’t tried the eggs benedict yet, but that’s next. I highly recommend the meat lovers omelette and the western omelette. They may sound routine, but they are spectacular: made with real eggs, perfectly browned, just the right meat to cheese ratio(i.e. not swimming in cheese), and comes with some of the best hash browns I’ve ever had. Try it!

Very average and WAY overpriced. I was disappointed and couldn’t believe that I spent $ 15 for that lunch. So not worth it in terms of quality or quantity.

This morning, friends and I arrived at Fresco and were welcomed by the warm, accommodating waitstaff. Around the table, we were each pleased with our respective orders of strawberry waffle, hash and eggs, buttermilk pancakes, and a veggie omelet(with a few side dishes here and there). It’s worth mentioning the raisin toast, which was exceptionally tasty. Also, the coffee has improved tremendously since an earlier dining experience, in which it had tasted weaker. Overall, the prices were reasonable for the quality of the food, and our party was content and well-fed. I’m very willing to go back for more breakfast and a pleasant dining experience at Fresco.

I’ve been to Fresco at least a dozen times in the past year. The food is good and very consistent. As far as atmosphere, it’s a diner… no more, no less. Their home fries are good(and I’m more of a hash brown person, so that says something) and the omelettes are respectable. I’ve never had any problems with service or keeping a full cup of coffee.

We went for breakfast/lunch today with my grown children, spouses and 2 grandchildren. The place was nice. The waitstaff were so friendly and nice, and very attentive. The food was very good, looked good and fresh. Sorry, but I can’t complain about anything… Our experience on this 1st visit was very positive. We will definitely be returning. The 1&2 star reviews overall sounded like people who normally have nothing positive to say about anything… period.

The coffee was watery and disgusting. I was very disappointed that I couldn’t order a smoked salmon Benedict because they only make hollandaise on weekends. Eggs did not come out the way they were ordered. Mediocre food.

This is my first review of many; I hope! My family and I are small town food connoisseurs. My parents are from Ireland and have trained me to enjoy every morsels as well as every atmosphere. Fresco in Needham is a great family restaurant. It is quite small, and on a busy Sunday you could have a wait. I would say that it’s worth the wait. The food is very fresh and the portions are the right size to fill my hungry Irish dad! I had the homemade corn beef hash and eggs and the highlight of any meal here is the homemade bread. On a nice day there is even outdoor seating! Enjoy!

Stopped here on my way to shoot a wedding. Found this place on Unilocal and had to try! Every person who worked here was welcoming and so nice! Ingredients were farm fresh in my veggie omelet and the bread seemed to be homemade, too! I’ve already recommended it to the people I know who live out this way!

I am really surprised by the negative ratings Fresco is getting. I live in Needham and this is my «Go To» restaurant when I have company when everyone just wants simple food like breakfast and burgers. My wife and I have probably had breakfast there 20 times and I have had lunch there just about as many with friends and have never had a bad meal. ATMOSPHERE: It’s essentially a breakfast and lunch diner. It is not dreadful but just run of the mill I suppose. I have never noticed cracked seats, etc so I am really surprised by that comment. If I wanted ambiance I would go to Not Your Average Joes or one of the other restaurants in downtown. SERVICE: Again, I have never had a problem getting waited on and the personnel have never made us wait for any extended time. Again, I am really surprised to read the negative comments regarding that. PRICE: Seems pretty typical for this kind of restaurant. You definitely get enough food and I have never left there hungry. FOOD: This is the reason I go. Breakfast has always met my expectations and I honestly don’t ever recall having a bad omelette and my wife has always been happy with her meal. Home fries are good and as I really don’t like onions, surprised by the comment that there were too many. For lunch, I LOVE the classic cheeseburger and steak fries which has never disappointed. I have numerous people comment that it is one of the best burgers they have ever had and when they come in town, suggest eating there again because it was so good. CONCLUSION: Maybe me, my wife, and my friends are simple folks who really don’t know what defines a great restaurant and a good meal? That said, I have had my fair share of restaurants and this is one I would highly recommend.

Went with some friends for lunch. I could not find a salad that sounded decent so I had an Omelette for lunch. Omlette was OK. Place is ugly– no atmosphere. No one there under 70, reminds me of a place in Florida. I will not return

Maybe one of the worst breakfasts i have ever had. Fruit salad was inedible. Avoid this place.

While visiting family in Needham, my brother, sister, mother, and I were looking for a lunch spot and decided to check out Fresco since it had many favorable reviews on Unilocal and Urban Spoon. We were pretty disappointed. Ambiance: 1 out of 5 Fresco has some nice outdoor seating. Each table comfortably seats approximately 5 people and has an umbrella. The inside of the restaurant, however, is pretty dingy. There are tall booths with cracked fabric seats. The kitchen is situated in back of the restaurant and is open, the view of which takes away from the experience more than it adds. It seemed that the employees were kind of just hanging out there. Food: 1.5 out of 5 Salmon Omelet: 0.5 out of 5 My sister ordered the salmon omelet and the eggs were overcooked and rubbery brown. The salmon looked all right. She left 75% of her food. Grilled Chicken Sandwich: 2 out of 5 The chicken was all right and the honey mustard dressing was good. My sister pointed to the tomato, which was a pale pink color, and said«tomatoes are not supposed to look like that.» Overall, the sandwich was just okay. Onion Rings: 2 out of 5 We ordered a serving of onion rings for the table and they were tasted like one of the lower-grade frozen-to-fryer onion ring varieties. Chicken Gyro: 0 out of 5 My brother ordered this and repeatedly said that it was the«worst gyro» he had ever had. Spanakopita: No rating My mother ordered this and did voice an opinion about it. She did say that based off of the reviews of Fresco, she was expecting something«different.» Fresco failed to meet our expectations and I would not return. This joint would be a prime candidate for Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant overhaul show, «Kitchen Nightmares.»

Having lived in Needham at one point, I frequented Fresco for solo breakfasts. Always delicious, never disappointing. Prices are great, servers are friendly. While I no longer live nearby I still work in the area and drop in here for lunch with friends often. I stick with the breakfast foods, so I can’t speak to the rest of the menu, but one particular friend is in love with the lentil soup. The one draw back to this place is when school is out, or has a half day. It’s location, as well as low prices, make it attractive to the younger crowd. There can be A LOT of kids, and as a result a dramatic increase in the noise level.

This place sucks. Service is consistently awful. Food bad too. Today we walked out after being seated by a hostess who muttered our servers name and insincerely wished us a nice meal after dumping us. We then waited and waited and waited and no server appeared. They all seemed to be hanging out by the kitchen not doing much. Never going back. Only reason we went today was we were starving and no other breakfast place was open. PS: We were there in Jan, but while posting another review I realized this review hadn’t been finished.

Good basic menu at good price. Not the place for Starbucks coffee, but they do a good job with eggs, bagels and lox.

Cute little breakfast place in Needham. I came here with my friend right after she picked me up after getting off a red-eye from the West Coast. We both got two eggs, home fries and toast, for less than $ 5. The food hit the spot after such a long flight, and the price is almost unbeatable. Service was quick and friendly as well. I would definitely be back to try other things on the menu if I lived in the area.

I can see how families might like this place — good spot to bring the gang for some kid-friendly breakfast/lunch fare w/out worrying about making a mess. It’s just not for me, that’s all. Based on the crowds, though, I don’t think they’ll miss my business. So, based on the Unilocal reviews, my husband and I tried Fresco for breakfast one day. We weren’t terribly impressed. The food was okay. The inside has a certain filth factor… now, mind you — I can handle a certain degree of filth if the food makes up for it. It didn’t make up for it here. It wasn’t terrible, but I don’t think we’d race back. Wanting to give Fresco another try, I ordered the greek salad w/grilled chicken(per another Unilocal review) to go for lunch one day. Definitely not the best greek salad I’ve ever had in my life. Nowhere near the best, actually. Here’s what it included: shallow to-go carton with a bottom layer of iceberg lettuce, a couple cherry tomatoes(these were good), a few olives(again, good), 3 – 4 bad cucumber slices(I know — I hadn’t experienced a bad cuke until today, but these were terrible — ruined the already bad salad, actually… they were dried out with a funny taste), 1 block of feta w/oregano(good), and some warm(nuked) pita bread. Nothing special — nothing I’d order again. Again, there’s always a crowd(typically families and/or teenagers), so they appeal to a certain audience. Just not for me.

Best greek salad with chicken that I’ve ever had in my life! I love this place… the large chunk of feta cheese and oregano is amazing on top of this incredibly fresh and crisp salad. It’s a big portion, and I chow down! Seriously worth a try. The chicken is warm and fresh and grilled to perfection. Mmm, mmm!!! But call ahead because it takes 15 minutes or so to wait for take-out.
