Simply the best! Best people, best sandwiches, and best prices. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for a sub. Chicken parm is fantastic, and steak and chee is amazing as well.

Best subs around PERIOD!!! Large Chicken Parm has been my go to since high school(10 years ago) and it still tastes just as good now as it did then! Steak and Cheese is also great and a close second to the chicken parm. If you are in the Needham Newton area and looking for a good sub Mighty Subs is a must! OR if you are on rt 128 near exit 19 Needham/Newton anytime between 6am-4pm and hungry get off highway and get a sub here!

You won’t find a better sandwich shop with in 10 miles. A large can serve 4 people. Great great great.

Great sandwiches and fast efficient service. But I really don’t like the huge sheets of paper used to wrap sandwhiches! Seems like they could use a lighter grade and about two thirds the size or less.

«Our small is their large» is a perfect description of this place; my small was more than 12 inches. Beyond the size, they use great quality ingredients, I was in and out during lunch hour in less than 4 minutes, and they do a lunch special for under $ 8 including chips and a drink! I just started a new job next door, and this place is all anyone ever talks about, now I see why!

Poor service but good food. I came in during work one day the guy at the cash register had a bad attitude and refused to serve me breakfast even though it was before the time they stated breakfast was closed.

I grew up in Needham and remember Mighty Subs being in the same location, with the same hours, for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately, I was always in school or working and never around to eat there. Fast forward to now. I work in HR(Recruiting specifically) for a huge global company that doesn’t require me to go to an office every day. This works out well for me because I don’t particularly like wearing pants. Working from home is great, although I do enjoy leaving the house to grab some take out and get some fresh air(I wear pants when I leave the house). It finally occurred to me that I now have the luxury of being able to eat at Mighty Subs. It’s almost like I’ve been waiting 30 years for this opportunity. Well let me tell you — it was worth the wait. Mighty Subs motto is, «Our small is their large.» This statement is actually 100% accurate. Their small is 10″ and their large is 20″. You’re probably assuming that they don’t stuff their subs so the extra length is just extra bread. Well, that assumption is completely wrong(they pack both length and girth). So now you’re probably assuming that they charge double. Nope, you’re wrong again. Smalls range from 6 to 7 dollars; larges are 10 to 11 dollars. As some other reviewers have said, you truly do not need a large for one person. I only get larges because it means I don’t have to make dinner later. Taking one down in one sitting will absolutely lead to a food coma. I’m speaking from experience. I rotate between the Italian, Chicken Parm, and Steak Works. The Steak Works is my favorite, hands down. Mighty Subs also offers breakfast until 11am. I haven’t tried it yet, but will update this review once I do so. The whole point of working from home is so I don’t have to leave the house in the morning, so I’m facing somewhat of a paradox. The lines can be long around noon, but don’t worry, they move insanely fast. If you get a cold sub it will be ready in 1 – 2 minutes. Hot subs are only a 5 – 10 minute wait. They also accept all 4 credit cards, so feel free to whip out your hipster Discover card. The hours are 5:30am to 4:00pm. If you see a guy who looks like he just woke up, feel free to say hi to me.

This place is known for its large subs. After all their slogan is «our small is their large.» What I hadn’t known until last year, was that this is also a pretty good breakfast joint. Years of driving by and I never had a clue. It’s simple breakfast fare, a convenient place to score some bacon and homefries and the like. Extremely reasonable prices. Solid.

Place is great. Subs are HUGE and well worth the price. Small is 10″ and large is 20″. Had small Buffalo Chicken Cutlet and it was awesome. Couldn’t finish it as I was stuffed and now have a great snack tonight. Bathroom is kinda iffy since you have to walk thru kitchen but was clean for it’s current condition. Will definitely eat here again

Found this place on Unilocal while I was in the area looking for a quick takeout lunch. Got the large steak works sub which easily fed 2 people with a leftover portion for the next day too. Called ahead as suggested by other reviewers, but still waited in line to pay(just saved the time waiting for the food). There were cookies you could buy at the front. The location is at the border of Newton and Needham near the highway exist which was convenient. Small, diner-esque environment with 1 long table for communal seating, plus some additional tables. The walls have photos of the panoramic views of various Boston sports stadiums. Friendly staff.

I can’t add much to most of the other reviews of Mighty Subs, but I can definitely confirm that what you read below is spot on. Their subs are ginormous. Don’t fool yourself into thinking you can handle a large. I’m pretty sure the Nathans hotdog eating contest champ would have a hard time putting away a large here, but if you want leftovers for dinner, go for it. Their meatball sub is delicious as is their steak and cheese. Haven’t tried any others yet, but I will be soon. Oh, and the service is very quick and friendly, even during the lunch rush. For me, that’s the true test of a takeout place, the look on the face of the counter person in the middle of the lunch rush. Smiles all the way, that’s really all you need to know. Now get your butt over there and order one of their massive subs, you won’t regret it.

I get a wicked craving for traditional style subs more often than not and until having visited Mighty Subs had not found a place in Massachusetts. Will definitely be returning for lunch! A 10″ sub for $ 6? You can’t beat that. Especially when the ingredients are fresh and delicious, not to mention prepared by a very kind staff.

Subs are huuuuuge, and very good. You can deign that information without even eating there — just drive down Needham street and see the throngs of blue and white collar warriors walking out of this place with these massive subs. And how can you tell the quality is on point without eating there? Their hours are 6am-4pm M-F. A place that can afford to be closed nights and weekends must be good right?! I found out the reason the office park and hard hat crowds treat this place as their cafeteria — quality and quantity at a reasonable price. I got the small which really was the size of «their large» as their motto says. $ 8, that’s fine for a take-out lunch IMO. The large 24-inch subs were $ 11, and most of the guys got two meals out of them(and these aren’t the lanky kale-salad lunch types, these guys can toss back a big mid-day meal). The steak bomb was shredded steak with veggies and cheese, I was satisfied. I picked up food for 12 guys in my office so I saw a variety of their offerings; chicken parm looked on point, I could smell the pastrami through the bag, and the cold cuts looked fresh. Everyone at lunch was satisfied and we plan on doing more Mighty Sub lunches in the future. I put the 12 sub order in an hour ahead and they had the thing ready packaged up and labeled to make it easy to dole out. Awesome. I would like to dine-in there to get that sub shop feel. They had a decent amount of seating in booths and at a long 20 seat table in the middle of the shop. The staff were real friendly hometown types making small talk with their regulars as they yelled out orders in the open kitchen.

What a gem. This is a landmark place in the Needham-Newton area. Their large sub is double the size of anywhere else without compromising the quality. I have been going here for over 25 years. It’s a must go! The homemade chicken cutlets for either the chicken cutlet or chicken parm subs are the best! I usually go with the chicken cutlet with lettuce, tomato, mayo and pickles. Heavenly. The make a mighty fine cheesesteak. Be on the look out for their lunch specials. You can usually get a small«sub of the day» with chips and soda for a special price. If you’re an early riser, get on in there for breakfast. Great food, large portions = happiness!

After reading the positive Unilocal reviews, I couldn’t help but check the place out, considering I was working in the area. I’ve been to quite a few dive bars in my life; and I’ve never thought it was possible, but this place is actually quite comparable to a dive bar. The ambiance is something out of a horror flick. There are a few booths and right down the center is a worn cafeteria style table. There were some muffins left over from breakfast looked especially appetizing as they sat in their baking pans within a grotesquely old display cabinet. The meal I ordered, a buffalo chicken sub, was four pieces of deep fried chicken, two stacked on each side of the sub roll, with only the top piece lightly coated in some type of buffalo sauce. Topped off with lettuce. The blu cheese was some cheap and quite frankly, awful, salad dressing packet blue cheese. Literally. A salad dressing packet which wrapped into my sub for me to dress over the sandwich. 2 stars for alright service.

I could tell just by driving by Mighty Subs that this housed a good sandwich. What I didn’t know was how great their food truly is. I needed a dolly to carry out the three large meatball parms that I ordered. HUGE! You cannot beat the price for the size sandwich that they make you. Typically busy at lunch, yet they fly through the line. Everyone who works there is personable and polite. This is a huge change for me since moving to New England from the South. Nothing irks me more than handing over my hard-earned money to a rude person behind the counter. I’ve noticed that lots of people in New England«keep it real» by acting tough and being rude. So, I make note of that and NEVER return to those establishments. This is why I go to Mighty Subs constantly. Nice attitudes go a very long way with me. I admit, my love for their meatball parm has kept me from branching out to other items on their menu, but dang! It’s good. Keep up the great work Mighty Subs! I shall see you soon!

So if you’re like me and slave away in the huge Needham office park right next to Mighty Subs, this is THE place you go for a traditional grinder and a bag of chips lunch. Just a no frills, old school grinder joint that can make you every type of sub/grinder under the sun. Don’t let the long lines scare you off, I was in a line 10 deep and literally in under 5 minutes I was able to grab a seat and crush the small steak works I ordered. Just to echo their motto and every other review on this page; you only need a small if you’re eating by yourself, a large is really made for two people. No fancy toppings or exotic creations going on over here; you get all your favorites like a steak works, buffalo chicken, chicken cutlet, cheeseburger and cold cuts, all fresh ingredients, on fresh baked bread with everything of course being a really generous portion. A small grinder, a bag of chips and a drink only sets you back $ 10. Pretty solid deal in my book.
