The UPS Store

Terrible customer service. They’ve lost a box of mine in the past, and today attempted to charge $ 2.18 for a piece of tape. I have a business account with this company and am terminating because of this store.

You’ll notice several UPS stores have closed and for good reason. They are franchises run by generally inept small business owners who as revenues diminish try to wring top dollar out of remaining customers. My nearest UPS store is on 96^th and Broadway and my few experiences there have been horrible. So I decided to walk another 5 blocks to this store. I brought the lampshade I wanted to ship as it is large and hoped that I didn’t have to drag a large box home, pack and drag it back. I asked for a 24″ square box (listed as standard on the UPS site). I was later to discover they sold me a 26+” box. I was then told that the total for box and packing would be $ 40 and change! Box was $ 17 and the packing charge was $ 23.00!!!
Bought the box, dragged it home, packed it myself in 2 minutes (extremely light, non fragile contents) and printed out a label on the UPS website. Brought it down to the doorman for UPS pickup. Net cost $ 17.
Everyone is entitled to be fairly paid for their effort. This was absurd.
I’m giving the store 2 stars because they were capable of selling me a box (although the wrong size).

location (there are a bunch within walking distance) is always a little bit cluttered with packages from customers inside. is OK, staff are friendly and efficiently carried out his job. but there’s always but before you mail anything check out the prices at Post office First I find UPS is expressive.

totally good experience – brought our package in, the woman weighed it, told us the amount, and then later chose the box and packed it up, which then arrived safe and sound. Considering what can go wrong at these places, it was worth the cab ride up.

Yes, that is what a friend says about my passport photo. Alas, I wish i could blame that on the photographer. I purchased said photo at this UPS store. The guy behind the counter was friendly and efficiently carried out his job. He showed remarkable patience with some middle-​aged woman who was whining about needing a box of a certain size. I wanted to tell her, «If you need it to be so damn specific, go make the bloody box and stop making this poor guy miserable.»
The employee and I both checked out this smoking hot woman who came in to drop off an envelope. Hey now.

Always quick and always helpful people working here. Yes, it’s a UPS, but it’s a really consistent one.
