one of the worst dining experiences my family has EVER had… the only reason I give it two stars is because the bruschetta was good and my husband’s meal was decent… first off we didn’t get the kids menu until we asked for it… our waitress took forever to take our order. when the kids food came out it was hot but dry not much sauce and not very flavorful I’m sorry but it’s not hard to make an alfredo sauce… my husband never got his 2nd beer either… when my meal FINALLY came out way after the kids meals, my vegetarian spaghetti was rubbery hardly any sauce probably the worst spaghetti I’ve ever tasted… I’ve had better home made leftovers! The waitress was kind and took it off the bill. We decided to ask for our bill at this point with the kids acting up(because we had been there SO long) but then she proceeded to have a full conversation at the bar with the bartender and a patron… I’ve never been so tempted to leave without paying at a restaurant EVER… i must also mention we are usually 20% tippers and for the first time left NOTIP… to top this all off it was Our FATHERSDAYDINNER! i cant help but think maybe the owners were out of town or something… the whole staff was more interested in talking at the bar than doing there jobs… SUPERDISSAPONTED i wasted my time and money here!

Where to begin. This place was outstanding! 3 courses for $ 20! Amazing service! Stephanie was a fun, professional and outgoing server. The foccasia bread was out of this world. Highly recommend!

Finally got around to trying Sorella. Loved it! It’s so refreshing to have a fabulous option for dining in the Newport area. They have an inviting menu; not too big. They have a great Happy Hour menu. The fried calamari was awesome! My hubby had the grilled asparagus with smoked prosciutto and a cooked egg, yummy! For dinner, it was the Fusilli Premavera and the Veal Parmesean. Finished with Tiramiso and chocolate torte with strawberry sauce. I highly recommend trying Sorella! You won’t be disappointed.

I have been anticipating eating here for months, and finally today was the day. I’m sorry to say the anticipation was better than the reality. First, I ordered a Lemon Drop martini, made with their house lemoncello, frankly it was watery and bitter. I had the calamari which was undercooked, the aoili was average and the marinara was tasteless. The pizza was almost burnt, very little sauce and with a scant amount of cheese. The service was lousy(even though it wasn’t busy). I sure wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!!!

I wanted to like this place. I have been looking forward to coming to this restaurant for a year now since we live out of town. There were two of us in our party. We were seated quickly and immediately put our drink orders in, appetizer, and main course. Our drinks came out quickly and then we sat for the next 30 minutes. Our waitress came by and asked, «Are you two waiting on something?» We said yes we are waiting on the food we ordered over 30 minutes ago. We proceeded to leave after that question. I understand the place was busy, but I believe they could have done better. Disappointed we couldn’t enjoy our anniversary dinner at a newer restaurant. Oh well, there is always Nana’s one block away that never disappoints when it comes to food, drinks, and service.

Several items on the menu not available. Calamari undercooked. Pasta overcooked. It’s off season so maybe they are off their game? Or not…

After reading mostly positive Unilocal reviews, we were excited to give this place a try! Boy, are we so glad we did! We chose the Sunday Supper deal, 3 courses for $ 20 each. The appetizer and entrée portions were huge(we had leftovers) and the flavors are incredible. The dessert portion was small, but honestly just enough to complete the meal. We enjoyed the focaccia bread, Caesar salad, Margherita pizza, lasagna, tiramisu amd the chocolate torte. Every bite was delicious! Our service was fast & friendly and kept our waters full without asking. We will definitely go back!

We stopped in to Sorella on a Sunday evening around 7 p.m. they were medium busy when we arrived and got busier while we were there. The atmosphere was very nice. We were greeted by a young lady and told we could sit anywhere we like almost immediately. As we picked out a table and sat down, before we could hardly open the drink menu a young man brought us water and menus and explained that in addition to the regular menu, they offered a special«Sunday Supper» He explained that for a $ 20 flat fee we could choose from the Sunday Supper menu… 1 starter, 1 entrée and 1 dessert. There were other side dishes for a very reasonable $ 2, $ 3 or $ 4. We had amazing focassia with EVO and balsamic with our great IPA’s before we had even decided on our meal. We did the Sunday Supper which was PLENTY of food! We both had the Caesar salad… Which we both commented was one of the best we had ever had. She had the lasagna and I had the tagliatelle with clams, red pepper flakes and a few other delectable ingredients. Both were unique and incredibly good. We had tiramisu and a little choc. Truffle slice with toffee and candied orange and other things. It was all amazing. I gave 5 stars… Which is like never for me! My only complaint at all was the temperature which was a bit cool. I am usually overheated when everyone else is comfy or cool and even I was cool. All in all… It was our first time there and we loved it. Great atmosphere, great food, great drink, clean and the service was the best! Our server. Chris… Was pleasant, attentive, knowledgeable, fun and always smiling! I left a large tip… Which is saying something! I fully believe a tip is earned and not just part of the deal! You chose your profession knowing full well that people expect and deserve great service for a great tip! That’s it! Period! Chris… You are the poster guy for great service. It was our first time in and we’ll be back many times! The owner of Sorella if its not you should be proud to have you!

My husband and I came in on a Monday night. We had Caesar salads that were large enough to split but we had them for a meal. Very good but we didn’t really care for the cheese crisps on top. Tasted like cheddar and parm mixed together and was rather sweet tasting. We also had roasted brussel sprouts that were delicious. The menu was a little small compared to what we were looking for but on that note we will definitely be back.

We’re from Seattle and came into Nye Beach for a weekend getaway. We heard somewhere that Thursday is $ 10 pizza nights at Sorella’s, and it sure was. The pizza is 14″ so it’s pretty large. Holy. Crap. This may be some of the best pizza I’ve had in my life, no joke. And that’s including top notch pizza at nice Italian restaurants. Despite being a carnivore, my favorite ended up(strangely) being the eggplant Parmesan pizza. The eggplant was like an amazing French fry — crispy on the outside and it literalllllly melted in my mouth. Second favorite was the bacon pizza, which I was skeptical of because i don’t usually like pears or red onions and fancy cheeses on my pizza but DAMN that was good. Artichoke pizza isn’t bad either. But seriously — get the eggplant pizza. You won’t regret it!!!

This is my favorite place for the most delicious chicken scaloppini. Delicious! Now I have been here twice eat-in and three times take out. I hate the one painted cinderblock wall. At these prices, I want the other side of the room! I have found the staff to be rather snobby on every visit and frankly this place should not be at all snobby but that is just my take. It is pricey but good quality.

After a long week at work we decided to treat ourselves to a nice dinner. My wife recommend this place since she’s been here before. We started with a Caesar salad which was way over dressed. I order the ribeye and my wife orders the pork shank. My ribeye was luke warm, the pad of butter on top wouldn’t even melt. I asked for medium rare and I for medium well. The steak had no seasoning, and I mean nothing. For $ 27 I figured a nice cut of meat, but I was wrong. My wife pork was also very bland and the Brussels were undercooked. So after a very disappointing meal we asked to have our leftovers boxed up with the remaining salad he took away. The waiter came back to inform us he threw away our salad and there was not a manager available so he couldn’t help and«Take it out of his tip.» Needless to say this is the first and last time we are eating at Sorella.

Haven’t had something I don’t like at Sorella, but their pesto lasagna is my favorite followed by their calamari and the pizza! They make a great mixed drink as well and I love the atmosphere.

We decided to go for dinner because we wanted Italian and had read some of the recent reviews. We are so glad we ventured out in the fog. Phik was charming and gave us some great suggestions. We had Caesar salads which were well dressed and topped with delightful crisp cheese bits. We then had the pesto lasagna and bucatini carbonara. Both were fantastic and very satisfying. We got«to go» boxes and had the chocolate torte with hazelnut crust. What a way to finish a fantastic meal.

Loved this storefront Italian in the heart of Nye Beach. Ate here twice in a row, great food and a great value with friendly service. The first night we had an excelllent arugula salad, a few thin tasty hard salami slices and a nice grated parmesan mixed into a very generous serving of arugula. We split an outstandingly tender and delicious chicken scallopini served on a bed of lovely creamy polenta, really excellent. Add a wonderful bottle of Gavi(a steal at $ 24) and it was darn close to a five star meal, at prices not much more than a fancy sandwich. Ate with friends the second night, who loved it too(lamb shanks, and heirloom tomatoes capresi). Décor is fairly minimal, pastel walls and Italian poster art. Oh, what the hell — adding great prices to the excellent food, let’s call it five stars!

Very good. We split an order of Calamari. It was prepared well. We preferred the peppercini aioli sauce over the marinara. Both came with the dish. The marinara was a thick tomato paste consistency and taste. We then split a large Caesar salad. Interesting preparation. We liked it. The thing that was different was the addition of crumbled baked cheddar cheese. They still included the requisite Parmesan cheese :) Next, we split an order of the Rigatoni with pork ragu. Very good. We also added an order of roasted mushrooms. We’d eat here again. We’d try the ziti next time.

This is a strong 4 stars. I guess they just opened and they are working out the few minor bugs they have. Judging based on just the food — it’s excellent. They had a game hen the other night that was fantastic and my wife loved the pasta and salad. The Caesar salad I had was excellent, as was the service by a very friendly and attentive young lady that looks straight into your eyes with a soft soul and smiles. She seemed happy and eager to make others happy as well. The place is loud. The concrete floor and high ceilings made for a bit of an echo chamber(especially with the child which we found out was named Ezra because the parents allowed him to run around like a banshee INSIDE the restaurant as others were trying to enjoy — not the restaurant’s fault — but a definite entitlement family. Got into a Prius that was parked illegally in front of a red zone for convenience — and had an always annoying«Baby On Board» placard in the back window — SHEESH! Ok I’m done venting — back on the restaurant!). The noise can be an issue for a quiet dinner conversation, but I’m sure they will get it worked out. A definite recommendation to try it for the service and food. Low key, good food and a warm smile go a long ways towards a good future.

We were seated quickly. The restaurant was noisy. Waiter came within minutes. Our food took a long time to get out. The waiter told us that our order was coming right out, it is being played now, 10 minutes later no food. When the food came, pizza was a little black, ziti was a little over cooked and the calamari was soggy. Food was over priced. If you want bread, oil and vinegar you will pay extra for that.
