Arrived late on Wednesday night (February 3, 2016) and the owners were very accommodating in making sure we were taken care of with food and drinks. Visited again Thursday and Friday as we were staying in the neighborhood. Don’t tell my trainer, but I ate the world’s best homemade potato chips each time we visited! They were awesome! Next visit to Nokomis will definitely bring us back into Bayside! Food tab is around $ 10 per person and your bar tab will be whatever you make of it!

Service was friendly and fast, the food is wonderful. I ordered two appetizers, the crab balls and jalapeño popper dip. Burgers and fries. And if you Unilocal you get a free beer!!!.

It’s a funky little dive bar, which we like. The food was very good. I had blackened shrimp tacos and hubby had Friday special fish and chips. We both really enjoyed it. They have Woodchuck cider on draft which I was really happy about. The owner introduced himself to us and was very friendly.

I had never been here before, but stopped in for a quick bite to eat. Lisa, who waited on me, made me feel like a valued customer, and could not have been friendlier. I opted for the BLT, but when I chose the optional Avocado was told they were out of fresh avocado, but I could have the guacamole instead. I was skeptical, but OMG, it was heavenly!!! What a great place and the price is certainly right. Nothing fancy, but really a good little bar and restaurant, and you could tell that there are many regulars here. I loved it!

Great little bar and restaurant. Clean and cool atmosphere, good food, and cheap beer! If you are craving something fried or greasy this is the place to go. Owners were extremely friendly as well

We’ve driven past this little place many times, always aiming for someplace else for dinner. Tonight the «fish fry» sign drew us in. Fish was very good, fired nice, the home made French fries were awesome. Very busy, very noisy, but very friendly. Felt like I was at «cheers»! As others were served, everything looked good, and all the plates were emptied”

The place has changed hands since my first review, so it’s not relevant anymore. Different cook, different recipes. Wings are still good but not as good. The cod basket is gone, burger was overcooked the last time. Still a decent neighborhood place, and the service has improved, but I can’t get enthusiastic about it anymore.

This is great food in a dumpy looking bar. The place is tiny and the bathroom is gross, but the fish tacos… omg make it all worth it. They have this great slaw in the fish taco and they make the taco like a panini almost. It was very good. They have a variety of different foods and Tuesday is $ 2 taco Tuesday, which is why we went in. Unfortunately the only tacos eligible for $ 2 on Tuesday are the beef tacos. My husband had those and thoroughly enjoyed them. I had my fish tacos and paid full price, but thats ok. When I looked around most people seemed to be eating wings and burgers. I’m telling you… you need to try the fish tacos. The staff was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.

Stopped by for a Burger based on Paul’s recommendation. The Bay Side Burger ($ 7.99) was a ½ pound of quality beef cooked medium rare as requested. It was very good! Maybe the best in Venice. Paul kept me entertained, and the beer cold.
Bay Side Grill will be my go to place for burgers in Nokomis and/​or Venice.
What more could you want?

Local Gem. Great local place.
I like the review that says it has a salty vibe. A local place where the owners are on a first name basis with many of the patrons. There is a reason they have a cult following. Great bar food and the service is beyond good. It’s true, the wings are awesome, so are the sweet potato fries and italian beef.
First time I was there, the owners literally invited me to go crabbing with them and their family the next day. They are great people who care about their business and it shows.
Good place to see live music as well. They have a good stream of acts coming in and I’ve seen a few shows, all of which made the night better.
This is definitely a place to check out.

After living in Florida for a while this is the first place I’ve walked in and felt like a local. The bartender Paul has excellent people skills, the owners are very friendly, and the food is excellent! It’s bar food, yes, but they obviously take pride in what they serve their customers. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and I will be a regular as long as I live here!

Your basic neighborhood grille with a salty vibe. The wings are absolutely the best in town. On Wednesday they are .50 a piece. The fries and the sandwiches are a good bet as well with the Italian beef topping the list. The owners are very talkative and kind. The place can be empty or super packed and if so you will have a hard time finding a seat. The beers are priced great and always ice cold. Which is a major plus in my book.
