The selections here at this Northport candy shop seems to get smaller and smaller each year. Still it’s nice to come and get some vintage candies, chocolate, ice cream and other sweets. Prices are fairly low but, not much selection.

Harbor Trading has a pretty excellent selection of classic, old-​timey candies that are pretty fairly priced. There are better places to grab ice cream on Main Street, but their candy assortment is great. Really, my one quibble is the recent decline in service, most of the girls who run the counter are absent-​minded and aloof. The one young dude they recently hired is the most attentive, try to go in when he’s on shift.

This is a fun little candy and toy store, but it largely loses its appeal after middle school. There are fun novelty joke items, overpriced costume jewelry, and some fun candy– a nice mix of chocolately, fruity and minty. Even if it is a little tacky and young, it gets three stars for the decent candy selection, the pretty star lanterns hanging from the ceiling, and the super cool fun house mirror which never fails to amuse.
