Disclaimer I’d like to give 3.5÷3.75 stars because it’s not quite 4. I’ve only been here once before for breakfast maybe two years ago and it was fantastic. I came in the other day with a friend and I specifically asked to sit in the outdoor area but we were told it was full due to being booked for a party. Every single party that came in after us was offered indoor or outdoor seating and seated outside if they chose it, so that was disappointing and weird. The food was great, came out fast and the waitress was very sweet and attentive! Great prices for what we got, only qualms with this were the seating, the fact that a lot of the wait staff seemed bored and repeatedly paced past us while we ate, and the music was very weird and sleepy. I’d expect something summery and beachy like Sugar Ray or Jimmy Buffet, but that’s just me! Can’t wait to go back and hopefully leave a better review.

Stopped here for breakfast this morning and what a pleasure it was. The waitstaff was very attentive and friendly. No wait, sat immediately in the back where it was clean and sunny. The food was great, fresh, and so many options to choose from. I’d love to come back one day for lunch! Outside there is town parking with meters. And one side note, this place is cash only.

Had a great late breakfast today with my daughter. Sat in the heated, enclosed back patio. She enjoyed her French toast and eggs as I did my eggs benedict. Great service, all staff was very friendly. Expensive but worth it!

Walked into this place this morning and they didn’t even acknowledge us! We were so upset about this that we decided to leave. Don’t think we’ll be going back there.

Amazing amazing amazing! Best food in the area, best breakfast I’ve had in all of Long Island! Scenery is beautiful, staff is always happy and friendly and fast! Best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had. Pancakes way better than IHOP or any other diner. If you want an amazing breakfast, don’t go to that hole in the wall Sweet mamas, don’t get those fake pancakes from ihop, come to Tims shipwreck diner, and I can guarantee it won’t be your last

Don’t normally post reviews, but, had the most enjoyable experience here!!! The food was amazing & our waitress, Jeannie, was outstanding! She went above & beyond in her service. Gave us a full tour and history of the place and even introduced us to the owner, Timmy(extremely nice guy!). Made us Texas folks feel right at home. Thank you so much!

The best place to get breakfast in Suffolk county, in my opinion. At many other places, when you order a side of bacon with your pancakes, you get 2 – 3 sad, floppy pieces of pig which look and smell like they just came out of a microwave. But here, you get a freaking mountain of crispy deliciousness, which smells and tastes incredible. The omlettes are fantastic, pancakes are just as good, and waffles are even better. The classic, diner style coffee is just the icing on the cake. My grandfather used to deliver milk to this place in the 40’s, and they’re still standing on almost 80 years later. There’s a reason that this establishment has survived and thrived as long as it has. A must-go breakfast joint for anyone who can make it.

Shipwreck is an old favorite of mine, definitely a contender for one of the best breakfasts in Northport! Their lunches are great as well, but more often than not I pop in for breakfast. They recently re-modeled the interior and the seating out back, which is very comfortable when the weather is nice. My favorite breakfasts include their french toast, any of their omelets, and especially Marion’s Homemade Blintzes. My go-to lunch is the California BLT, but heads up, it’s a whole lotta sandwich! Also, excellent coffee– very well balanced and not too bitter. But hey, that’s my taste. Service is always attentive and friendly, and the prices are always reasonable. Definitely the encapsulation of a great, hometown diner.

Went to Tims with my wife and 2yr old son. I ordered him chicken fingers and fries, lobster roll for myself and an omelet for my wife. The lobster roll was watery and had a fishy smell. The chicken fingers came out late and there was 2 different types on the plate, some looked crispy and the others looked plain. We decided to not say anything because we had to wait for his food, we cut into one of the chicken fingers and it was raw(pink throughout), we checked the others and they were the same. We told the waitress and she took them back band then the owner(after another long wait) brought more out. We had them wrap it up and we left, they didn’t discount an thing. Wouldn’t go back there if you paid me —

Food wise regarding taste this review would be an easy 4 however, other factors brought the rating down. Let’s stay with the food. I had the fish and chips special and as yummy as it was there were only 3 small pieces of fish. The fries were very good though. My wife and mother each enjoyed their food. Avocado turkey club and chicken salad sandwich respectively. My son’s kids menu grilled cheese was good too. Sticking with that. We asked that he be served first only to have his food arrive last. Also, his apple juice that came with the meal was only ½ a juice since they ran out of apple juice. My side salad was originally forgotten and came out later. The place is super small and cramped. The table for the 4 of us was barely able to accommodate us. It was very, very warm borderline hot inside. The heat was why we decided to sit inside rather than out. Finally, it was very strange. A waitress Jeanie I later heard her refer to herself as was rude to our waitress SEVERAL times. Perhaps our waitress was/is new but she seemed super short and rude to her. Also, Tim the cook(learned his name as people called to him) was seemingly nasty too. Moments after we arrived he was arguing with a man who I later saw him arguing with the same man outside when I went to feed my meter. Overall, I won’t return. The food was expensive and only good, not great. The service stunk and the place isn’t comfy.

We stopped at this cozy little diner after the Farmer’s Market on a beautiful Saturday morning. They were packed! We ended up just sitting at the little bar they have. We ordered a couple of mimosas which were great! Our server kept topping off our glasses with more champagne which we loved! The place was hopping! Every table was taken and there were people outside waiting to get in. Our server let us know that our orders were going to take a little bit due to a large party the kitchen had to get out before. No worries as long as the mimosas kept coming! Better her telling us in advance rather than us sitting there wondering where our food was. I ordered the all meat breakfast wrap with hollandaise sauce and breakfast potatoes. I really, really enjoyed it. It was very good. The hollandaise sauce was on point. It competed with some of the finer restaurants I have eaten at. Very impressed. My girlfriend ordered the salmon & avocado wrap. It was so-so. We should have expected the salmon to be sketchy for a small diner like this. But we gave it a go anyway. The salmon was extra fishy. The other ingredients were fresh but the salmon overpowered all the other flavors in the wrap. We would definitely not order this again. Every other dish that was sent out of the kitchen looked amazing. The waitresses were great. They gave us samples of a new beer they were starting to sell and our glasses always stayed full. We will definitely be back. Very, very good breakfast joint!

I stopped in here for a quick lunch on an impromptu drive out to the north fork of Long Island. The space inside is quaint, like you would imagine a classic diner to be, but they boast a large amount of outdoor seating(with umbrellas and a water feature) out back. I chose to sit outside as the weather was perfect. Sam was my server and she was attentive and as sweet as can be explaining to me that the diner was happy to serve me but they were closing their kitchen only a few minutes after I was seated. I ordered a fish sandwich(which was HUGE) — the fish that day was flounder — and a glass of pinot grigio. The wine came in an adorable glass complete with homemade artwork on the side and a straw. The sandwich was extremely tasty — fried but not super heavy and the fish was very flavorful. I noticed a Unilocal deal if I checked in to the establishment, which I did, so I received 20% off my order — and if that wasn’t already good enough, I also received a free jar of homemade jelly, to boot. This place is a winner in my book. Sure it’s no frills, but the food is tasty, the service is warm and friendly and it’s in a quaint little town. Be sure to stop here on your next trip to Northport.

Food was really good but the service was horrendous! Our waitress did not say one kind word, made us feel like we were a bother to serve, and did not ask once how our food was. Our order was ready in plain sight and she walked by it to loudly announce she had to ‘pee’ and for everybody to hold on… If you want to go here take your order to go.

This is by far one of the best and unique diners on Long Island with a cozy vintage interior and ambience that makes you feel like you are one of the locals I haven’t been here in 2 years till today since I moved out of state and wanted to come back here with my family for brunch. On my arrival I was able to get a table with a very short wait period which was nice. I got coffee which was really good I must have had 3 cups and I got sausage, bacon, cheddar omelette with homefries which was delicious. They give good portions especially for a big guy like me. If you are looking for a quick breakfast in and out really fast don’t go here… If you are looking to go here with friends or family and take a seat relax enjoy some good food and don’t get rushed out like your typical NY diner you will love this place Pros: Great breakfast food Good portions Friendly laid back staff Very cool ambience In a town that is right on the water and you can walk to the park Cons: It can be slow… so for impatient people who aren’t looking to kick back and enjoy good food, good people, and good times I’d go somewhere else I will definitely come back here and recommend it to others

Diner /breakfast /lunch. Great little«hole in the wall» diner in Northport village, Tim’s has been here forever. Coffee was hot but merely ok — I’ve had better which sucks because the food was very good diner fare with some decent specials tossed in. Service was ok — a little pokey but nothing to cry over. Menu selection was standard with good specials in addition to the usual suspects. The décor is sort of what you would expect(and sort of what you hope to see) in a small village diner: eclectic, quirky, nautical and all of that. Prices were average. I would hit it again. Parking on the street.

I unfortunately have to drop my review to 1 Unilocal, because just minutes ago, I was attacked on Unilocal by someone named«Janet». It’s quite sad, I used to love this place but now they have resorted to mafia intimidation tactics and unfortunately for them, I can’t be scared off. Avoid shipwreck Diner at all costs!

WTF. Specials posted. They don’t jive. Waitresses don’t give a hoot. they’re more interested in the food they got stashed behind the counter(which somehow looks so much better than anything they serve the customers). This place is a Shipwreck for sure!

Been coming here for years now and this place always gets better. The owner is passionate about this place and is always looking for new ways to make your dining experience the best it can be. Recently the Food Network came in to freshen up the place and added a few new plates. I had the wreck-less wrap whichever a salmon, egg wrap and avacado. It was very interesting and tasty if you like fish. My wife had corn beef has and two eggs. The hash was chunky and made fresh she loved every bite. The atmosphere is great we try to get down here on nice cool summer mornings and sit out back on the patio. They are dog friendly and the server even brought our dog a bowl of water without us having to ask. They only take cash no cards but it’s not the end of the world there is an ATM on the premises.

I met a few family members here for breakfast, before a funeral. 5 of us suddenly turned into 15. They had a back area outside that could easily accommodate us. The waitstaff was very friendly and efficient. I had the corn beef hash. It’s not your average canned dog food stuff. This was fresh and delicious. It came with eggs and potatoes. Everyone in our party was very satisfied with breakfast and I am extremely appreciative of their service. When in the area, there is no question about where I’d go.

Best breakfast spot in Northport. This place is an institution, especially to those who remember it as «Otto’s». The food is awesome, the service is great, and the price is fair. The only downside to this place is the long wait time. The restaurant isn’t that large so the place is usually jammed. If you can be patient, it’s well worth the wait.

I was expecting a lot better, first I’ve passed this place hundreds of time and finally made it in. It’s a small little diner, very clean, great service, and unique looking. I stopped in for breakfast, and ordered eggs over, with homes fries, bacon, rye toast and coffee. Food arrived and never saw such a small portion. The eggs were tiny,(very little whites), the home fries look ed like two teaspoons full and the bacon looked like deep fried skinny worms. All lacking flavor and thrown together on the plate. Rye toast was pre buttered and fine. I finished asked for the check and the coffee was not part of the breakfast special but an additional 2.00 charge. I was very disappointed in the quality of breakfast and the cost. Won’t be going back.
