I’m done with stews. I’ve heard their commercial nonstop on Pandora every other commercial, every 4 songs. If I ever go back to stews after this relentless ad campaign drilled into my skull, I’d be very surprised. Him and his father will come over… as if!

I have been a customer for over 45 years When i shopped there and spent 300.00 this week my son and i got sick on food which we ate from the buffet so the next day i emailed exactly what this review says and i never got a reply to date five days latter My wife called three hours after the email to hear bring your receipt and they will give a refund for the food from the buffet Now call me crazy this is not good customer service which i thought his signs boast around the store Well stew if a customer that has been loyal over 45 years isn’t worth it you lost one Practice what you preach

Overrated and overpriced. Coffee sits for hours. Tried the hazelnut, was surprised by how stale it was. Was so sour even adding tons of cream, honey and sugar it was sour as lemon and dark. Instant coffee is better. Got a pack of cranberry muffins, had mold in it only 3 days after I got it.

Last minute cake. Stews had me covered. I gave the baker a black and white print out. She walked over to her computer found the image in color printed it for me and asked if she could use this instead. That was so sweet. My son loved it. Cake was amazing a priced right.

I am a fan, however, I go there rarely as they have so little organic produce I find myself going to another store right after that. I like their dairy and cheese departments. And of course if you are a fish lover they have it all, fresh daily. My husband begs for their hot poppers which are outstanding!

I visit this place every time I’m around the area. Pros Organic foods Not a franchise The company produces their own brand juices, milk, food items Hot food and cold food bar They have fresh meat and fish Large selection of fancy cheeses Fresh produce Freshly squeezed OJ THEHAVETHEIROWNICECREAM! There’s a variety of flavors both Icecream and frozen yogurt. Get their vanilla cone. Cones are not original but the icecream definitely is. Super kid friendly Small farm for children to visit Greenhouse for flowers Cons There’s only one store! Definitely visiting again.

A Norwalk institution, Having been born and raised in Norwalk, I would come here and visit the farm and come in the Christmas time for the Christmas tree. The food and produce is always fresh and tastes great. Lines are usually long but the registers move pretty quick. It has every thing you could possible want and then some. From lobster to steak or dairy products you can find it here. The buffet is also excellent and so are the soups. No other place like it in the area. 5-stars all around.

Been coming here over 30 years as far back when it was Clover Farms. Has been a part of my family and friends just as long. Great farm animals outside to bring the kids to, and an ice cream and frozen yogurt Shoppe on the way in. Great variety of food and drink offerings around every corner as well. The store setup has an Ikea like floor plan with winding turns to make one long path, but also has numerous short cuts since it can be a long walk to get through the entire store. Midday they have free samples of some products and they also have a coffee shop and sushi stand inside along the way. The last two great things to mention are the animatronics along the way which are still amusing today. The Chiquita banana one is a classic. Lastly, the buffet at end is really worth checking out with a ton of options and good flavor. If you’re ever in Norwalk, check it out. You’ll be glad you did.

Stew Leonard’s is my favorite supermarket! My mom used to take me as a kid, and I had really fond memories of it. This is the Disneyland of grocery stores! Since we moved away, it had been over 20 years since I’d been to Connecticut. When we finally came for a visit, I knew I wanted to visit Stew Leonard’s. I was so excited and best of all, it totally held up to my memories! My memory of it wasn’t just inflated from being a kid. Stew Leonard’s is the World’s Largest Dairy Market. Outside, they feature live animals and inside is filled with lots of whimsical attractions everywhere you look like a singing, dancing Chiquita banana or little characters doing aerial trapeze acts overhead. It’s a treat for kids, but adults too! Many items are made in house and usually there’s samples everywhere. The products are awesome like fresh kettle corn and potato chips, freshly squeezed juice, and there’s plenty of hot, ready to go items including a dim sum bar! There’s an ice cream bar outside too and they often give free ice cream tokens to kids or excited adults ;). I was offered a free token when I visited for a free soft serve cone! Yum! The only down side is the prices are a little high; this isn’t somewhere you’d do your full shop, but it’s certainly a wonderful treat! Heads up: The layout is unusual. You follow the designated path around the store, but there are cut through, short cut paths if you look for them.

What’s not to love. Visiting from So Cal and stumbled on this gem. Awesome selection of fresh produce, baked goods made on site and animated singing animals. We need a Stew’a back in So Cal. The prices are very good too. It’s Chucky Cheese for grocery shopping adults.

Stew’s is great — it’s a CT institution. If you’ve never been to a Stew Leonard’s before, imagine it as the top floor of IKEA, but with dairy, produce, and groceries. If you’ve never been to Ikea, well… Stew’s is known for they’re fresh fruit, amazing dairy, and good selection of prepared foods. You walk in and there’s a place to get soft serve ice cream to your left, and coffee to the right. As you walk though the rest of the store, you get a chance to sample foods and enjoy fun little animatronics. You can never go wrong with anything from the bakery department or any of the meats. The butcher has some of the best meat you can buy in the area. My only gripe with this location is the size, it feels quite cramped. It’s billed as the largest dairy store, but in all honesty the aisles feel quite narrow and it’s difficult to navigate on a busy Sunday afternoon. I’d suggest going during the week.

This is a store I would always take the kids to when they were younger but my husband and I went the other night and what a disappointment. Still 21⁄2 hours till closing but they were pulling in the rugs. There was a man outside throwing the pears into a box, throwing! The bathrooms were so dirty and I did say something and was told that would be taken care of but a half hour later still dirty. Pulled a number at the deli, # 31 just as the deli man called out # 18! Bad produce, 5 packs of rotting strawberries, I’ll stop there. I called the next day to ask if it would be worth while to complain, nope. The girl said they just cater to a low end side of the public??? meaning they don’t want organic and they want their food cheap. There is nothing cheap about Stew’s. Miss the singing dogs and no Hoedown??? SAD. Good Bye Fairfield

Stew– why have you changed your milk? You’re a dairy store with fresh milk brought in each day– it just doesn’t taste good! And why did you change your fro yo and ice cream at the stand — just not too good anymore. And beware of the rotisserie chickens– we got a sick one we had to return before we all got sick. And I wish Mrs. Leonard was still doing the baking because back 20 years ago, I was a stupid young kid, but I knew what good baking was. And it’s just not good anymore. Stews, you’ll be around forever so you can take these knocks. I am glad to see your great generosity of samples, which I know for fact is the one thing that brings people in(hint: visiting old CT friend from California). But too bad the quality isn’t what it was 20 years ago.

I like this place. just wish they had better prices. .I know it’s a little more affluent area. but come on. We were in the area for something else. don’t get down this way too often. .so we went in to do a quick browse of the place. Didn’t really get anything but checked stuff out. Only ended up getting some small pkg of berries. .surprisingly they were priced well. but found out why… within 1 ½ days later berries were spoiled!!! Waaaay to far to return small pkg of berries!!! Very disappointing!!! Maybe it was an odd occurance. but either way I spent $ & wasn’t able to eat more than a ¼ of four small pkgs of berries!!! NOTGOOD!!! I expected better from here! On the way out we got some ice cream. .was delish.

Truth be told, I am just slightly biased from many, many, many trips here throughout my childhood. It was always a special treat when Mom decided to take us grocery shopping at Stew’s instead of Stop & Shop. This is not just a grocery store(ahem, correction: «The World’s Largest Dairy Store!») but rather a most fun and engaging shopping experience. There is entertainment at every corner(more so for the little ones, but adults can appreciate the quirky song-and-dance puppets too!), delicious specialty products, and samples galore! Last week, while visiting my parents, I brought my toddler daughter here(more to entertain her than to really do any substantial grocery shopping). She was enchanted within seconds!(And she certainly was pleased as punch with all the samples, especially from the bakery). I mean, what toddler wouldn’t love a shopping trip where you can see mechanical monkeys swing through the air, musical juice boxes sing songs on stage, the Chiquita banana do a little song and dance, and say hello to Daisy the cow. Kids also get a kick out of seeing the behind-the-scenes views into different departments, including the bakery and dairy departments. There is so much to love about Stew’s at any time of year. For years we bought our Christmas trees at Stew’s, and this remains one of my family’s top places to stock up for summer barbecue essentials. Oh, and the ice cream station is year round. DELICIOUS. Prices at Stew’s aren’t any better than regular grocery stores, but there are excellent Stew’s specialties to try. The bakery is really great — lots of tasty treats, cookies, and cakes; I always crave their chocolate chip cookies when I’m home! Ice cream, fresh lemonade and iced tea(and my brother’s favorite, their green tea iced tea), the meat department — all outstanding. A word to the wise about the samples: come at lunch time on a weekday. They are plentiful!

Love love this market! It’s not your typical supermarket and it may not carry all your cooking essentials, but it’s worth a stop on your errand run. Their products are always fresh and you’ll definitely come across something new with every visit. My new crave is there chocolate drizzled rice cakes which is my go to when I’m in the mood for a sweet treat! Also, something eye catchy and worthy of a try is their pumpkin ginger frozen yogurt bites — absolutely to die for; they are simply amazing! The staff is super helpful and willingly to give you samples — make sure you go on an empty stomach ;). Oh, and your children will love you if you bring them along. There’s a small farm out front, a mini milk factory inside, animated shows as you shop, and so much more that I bet they’ll be begging you to come every time you say you’re going to «Stew Leonards!»

Stew Leonard’s is definitely the pioneer when it comes to all in one grocery stores. The Norwalk location is absolutely fabulous. This Stew Leonard’s sales a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. The produce, baked goods and seafoods are extremely fresh. In addition, the shopping experience is absolutely entertaining. I have to say that it never gets old to the kids… even the ones that are only young at heart!!!
