Kefa is an excellent place for coffee and sandwiches. I often get a medium cappuccino and it is always delicious, and it’s great that it is on the larger size of cappuccinos… Not the tiny ones like other places do. Also, the Egg, Spinach, and cheese sandwich is very tasty.

I’m trying to watch what I eat and stumble upon this place on Unilocal. I saw a lot of people got the brains breakfast sandwich yet the salmon one really stood out to me. Since I love salmon! But I decided to go for the brains breakfast because I always try their specialty. And my boyfriend got the salmon one. They both came out smaller than I expect especially the salmon one. But man! The brains breakfast really does have a lot of filling! It comes with bacon, spinach omelet and avocado. It took awhile to be made but I have no problem with that since it was really good! I initially didn’t think much of it since I just want to eat healthy but wow! It was better than I expected it! I love places that they use real eggs unlike say, fast food chains like Mcdonald that uses those fake ones(they make me puke). The place isn’t super big but comfortable with some canvas painting on the wall that you can purchase. I thought that was nice letting artist showcase their paintings that way. Overall I would come back for the sandwich again!

Breakfast while visiting Oakland is always challenging. Tried Kefa and glad I did. Wonderful coffee and a bagel sandwich made to order. Let’s face it, people go to large chain coffee shops not because they have exceptional coffee, but because they know what it will taste like. It is always a coin toss when you go to a mom and pop. It is great when it works out. If you want to pop-in somewhere for a quick cup of lousy coffee, go to Starbucks. But if you have a moment to soak up the locale while you wait a few for hand-made food(and to find a parking spot), try Kefa.

By far the best breakfast sandwiches ever made(any one of them). I’m hooked on their iced banana mochas, too. Sometimes there is a wait but it is more than worth it. Super nice staff.

Hands down my favorite breakfast sandwich in town. I recommend calling ahead because everything is made to order — which freakin rocks. The eggs are done perfectly and matched with the perfect amount of melty cheese. I’m a breakfast sandwich snob. These, my friends, are the best around. The woman working the counter makes a great latte too. I highly suggest you give it a go! You won’t be disappointed!

Got to say for the where its located the food is awesome. I had the baked salmon breakfast sandwich and it was great. Will definitely go back and try something else if not the same sandwich again.

Old-school comfortable vibes, just cool and nice and down-to-earth. Vegetarian sandwiches are awesome(can’t speak for any with meat) — simple and real food, meets comfort food. If they were $ 5 instead of $ 7 I’d be there every other day. A couple of outside tables– it’s right on the corner of an oddly-peaceful-for-basically-being-a-permanent-construction-zone neighborhood.

Mehhhh. Checked Unilocal right after landing in Oakland international airport and was starving so decided to come here. The coffee shop is tiny with only two workers, and about three tables available for customers. Sandwiches are made from scratch but take forever and a day since only one person manages the kitchen while the other person manages drinks up front and takes the money. Ordered the BRIAN’S BREAKFASTSANDWICH, LOXBAGEL, COFFEE, and SAUSAGEEGGANDCHEESESANDWICH. BRIAN’S BREAKFASTSANDWICH was probably the best out the bunch. Decent size and came with egg, bacon, spinach, and avocado. Bacon was extremely salty but everything else was good. 4 stars*** LOXBAGEL– pass… The bagel was hard as a rock and upon me biting into it it scratched the roof of my mouth. Smoked salmon wasn’t anything special and was a bit on the skimpy side. I guess ever since I went to Russ and Daughters in NYC it has been hard for me to find a good lox bagel at any other place. 1 star*** SAUSAGEEGGANDCHEESESANDWICH Basic sandwich which reminds me of McDonald’s egg and sausage mcmuffin. 3 stars**** Bathroom is through the kitchen door and is marked with an «employees only“sign Parking is limited to about four spaces on the side of the coffee house due to construction on the street.

Love the spinach/egg/cheese english muffin sandwich. I used to live around the corner from this place, and moved in 2011 about 30 minutes away. But I still come by here when I’m commuting on 880 to breakfast & a latte.

I ordered Brian’s breakfast sandwich(with no cheese) and a caramel mocha latte, both were really good. I love that they use fresh ingredients and hormone-free no MSG meats and advertise it. My man had the banana mocha — I typically don’t like banana anything but I took a sip and actually liked it. Would come back. Just fyi — parking is scarce.

Kefa serves up some awesome breakfast sandwiches. Came here on the weekend for a couple breakfast sandwiches and they were sooo delicioso! This is a good alternative from the whole brunch dining experience if your pockets are a little light. I waited over ten minutes for my sandwiches, because they make everything fresh. There is a sign that says they crack the egg, slice the deli meat to order so it takes longer. They welcome you to order in ahead of time to save yourself some time. I spent about 10 bucks for two sandwiches and it was well worth it. Vibe here is really chill, parking sucks and I didn’t get a chance to try the coffee but i think the banana mocha is popular. While waiting overheard like 4 people order it.

I drive past kefa every morning, on my way to work. I’ve heard about their legendary«Brian’s Breakfast Sandwich» so a friend and I decided to finally check it out, on this rainy Sunday morning. Super chill vibe and the woman working the counter was very friendly. She got a kick out of my name actually being Brian. The reviews about the wait are correct. We waited 20 minutes for our sandwich, but honestly, I was in no hurry. Gave my friend and I some time to chit chat while we waited. This was probably one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had. It was loaded with all fresh ingredients such as a half an avocado on each half of the sandwich, perfectly scramble spinach omelette and real bacon, not the pre-cooked crap a lot of coffee shops offer. It was a bit on the pricey side…$ 9.95 for a breakfast sandwich, but otherwise it was amazing. Definitely a treat myself kind of breakfast sandwich.

Meh. I came here just the other day and I am not impressed with this café. I ordered the«banana mocha» that everyone is raving about, but mine had no taste of banana whatsoever. I was pretty disappointed. The barista working that day happened to forget to make my drink for a long time as well. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich which consisted of egg, cheese, and spinach. I should have known it would be bad when I wasn’t asked«what kind of cheese I wanted», or the fact that it didn’t even display what type of cheese was even in it on their menu. I didn’t like that the eggs were scrambled with the spinach either, I would have much preferred a poached egg with fresh spinach(which was what I was expecting.) Probably won’t make another trip here.

Finally got a chance to stop by and check this place out. I sent my friend by here a couple of months ago, and she raved about the salmon scramble. Kefa Coffee is small and quaint, but very inviting. I immediately knew what I wanted because I’ve seen the pictures on Instagram. I went with the infamous«Brian» breakfast sandwich. It was great. A little too much avocado for me(and I’m an avocado lover), but aside from that, it was delicious! Typically I eat like a bird, but I scarfed the whole thing down. Not only do I recommend this place, but I’ll definitely be back to something different!

Ridiculously overpriced. Not sure why this place is rated so highly. I ordered a bagel with egg, cheese, and spinach and it came out to be over $ 7.50… which is ludicrous. I was going to order a coffee, but after seeing some of the prices for them, I decided against it. The bagel was decent, but again, if I’m paying $ 7.50 for a bagel, it better blow my mind. Won’t be back again– unless they discount their items by at least $ 2.

Second time coming here, and I can definitely see it as the occasional«treat before school» tradition. for myself. hah. The coffee is decent($ 2 for a small). but the main thing is the friendly vibe and delicious breakfast sandwiches. I got the bacon egg and cheese sandwich. the bacon is ample, crunchy, and salty!(Maybe a bit too salty. but. so delicious). The egg is fluffy and the cheese is perfectly melted. I am so full after it. It does take a while for the sandwiches to be made, but there are plenty of pastries too. The people who work here are super friendly, and there’s free wifi for morning business. Right off the freeway, so it’s close to work! They do phone orders too!(Last time, that’s what I did).

Dear Kefa, I have one word for you… OMG.(wait is that three words? letters?) That Brian’s Breakfast Sandwich was the largest, monstrous breakfast sandwich I have ever seen and eaten. Hot, Juicy, Crispy Bacon, fluffy egg… just look at the picture. But why am I telling YOU this? You made it! And who is this Brian that you name such a wonderful breakfast sandwich after him. Who is he?! Is he hot, juicy and taste like bacon? i doubt that. You should just call it the OMG sandwich. Because that is probably what came out of my mouth when I saw it. It’s all such a blur to me. Delicious and warm. The only downside? We waited quite a long time for it to come out. On one hand I guess it is a good sign that it’s made fresh, but the wait was a bit too much. Also tried the Egg Salad Sandwich. Not bad. Pretty good. But next to the Brian… OMG Sandwich it never had a chance. The Banana Mocha. Just had to try it. It was ok. Fun to try it, taste good and interesting but it was probably a one time thing. I think the sandwich prices are too steep and the time it took for it to come out could have been better — other than that, compliments to that great breakfast sandwich. One of these days I’ll have to come by and try it out again and see if I still get the same reaction. Thanks for the experience and. OMG i keep staring at the picture of that sandwich… See ya again oh my Kefa. (for those wondering, it’s a small place, barely noticable if you miss the sign. Not good for groups, but not too hard to find parking nearby.) never tried this but. vote«useful» for«Brian’s Special» vote«cool» for«OMG Sandwich» just sounds better right? omg look at that picture
