The Habit Burger Grill

Came here yesterday because we had two free coupons to try the Habit burger. When we walked in and checked out the awesome menu, we both decided to save the coupons for another day and order some of the other awesome items. I tried the Veggie burger with a side of fries. The burger was presented very beautiful on the plate and it was DELICIOUS! Best veggie burger I’ve ever had. The sourdough bread it was served on was amazing as well! They have a small «pepper bar» with banana peppers, sliced peppers and jalepenos to choose from which was the perfect addition to my burger! They also have 3 great freshly brewed teas as well as fresh strawberry limeade and the usual soda options. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves a good burger even a veggie burger! Also, this place is amazingly affordable! 2 filling burgers, 1 fries, and 1 drink for 19 and change.

This place is a well oiled machine! The workers are rocking! The food is delicious and pleasant upon the eyes! The restaurant is immaculate and the employees are working as a team! Will definitely return!

Tempura green beans excellent! Great food and excellent service. Alexa took our order and made some wonderful suggestions and since it was our first time visiting this was very helpful.

Think in and out but with more options and a flame grilled patty instead. The Santa Barbara is always a great way to go and the onion rings are epic!

Great burgers. Great protein options: beef, fish, veggie. Try the tempura green beans; I like them better than fries!

The good — fries were plentiful and hot. My friend ordered a Cobb Salad and it delicious.
Now for the bad, very bad. I ordered a double char with cheese. What I got was one, dried out patty with a slice of cold cheese, not melted. Naturally it cooled off what should have been a hot burger. And if there was any type of condiment, I didn’t taste or see it. I rarely eat burgers out but based on the reviews, I thought it was worth a try.
When we were nearly finished a young man came over, he may have been an assistant manager since it looked like another man was training staff and urging them to hustle the orders. I was asked how everything was and I said «It was just alright.» He asked why I said that. So I am a truth teller and let him know the issue. Also adding, that I have NEVER had a cold burger at In-​N-​Out Burger.
This young man whipped out a coupon, I think he had a pocket full, for a free CHARBURGER with cheese. Most places would have at least given me value for value paid if they wanted me to return. Maybe for the Cobb Salad, but I’ll either make my own burgers or go back to hot and delicious In-​N-​Out Burger.

I have fallen in love with the burgers here! Great staff, very very fast service, and the place is always clean. Prices are phenomenal.
Food is fresh and never greasy or wilted. Just an all around good looking plate.
Another great place for the kids and me. Food is served as soon as its off the grill. Location is super convenient too.
Can’t wait to eat here again. Cannot recommend this place highly enough to friends and family.

First timer at this extremely friendly place. I ordered a cob salad, which was impressive, large, fresh and tasty. Based on the reviews, I also ordered tempura green beans, served with ranch dressing. This side was a winner. My friend ordered the burger, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Great place.

Hit up Habit tonight for dinner because the husband is ALWAYS craving a hamburger. It was a great experience! What stood out to me was the staff was friendly and helpful and quick to bring out our food.
The restaurant is located in the target shopping center, so parking could get busier during the day. At 7pm we were able to find a spot but the parking lot was pretty full.
The food/​presentation somewhat reminds me of In N Out. I liked that the fries are thick but not greasy and the burger was a good size portion. I ordered a Charburger with no cheese, and it was delicious and very flavorful. They also have a pepper bar which I thought was kind of cute. Jalapeños, chili peppers, and pepperoncinis are available at the bar. I love this because I love spicy foods.
The restaurant was a little busy but there was a table available. The table hadn’t been cleaned off from the last person so it was a bit of a concern. All in all, it was a good experience and as long as it curbs my husbands cravings, I’m happy.

Food: burgers are really good here. They have a juicy charred savory flavor that is hard to resist. Today I tried their Santa Barbara Burger ($ 5.50 and 900 calories) that is a double cheeseburger with grilled onions and avocado on a grilled sourdough bread. It’s exactly what you would expect if a grilled cheese turned into a hamburger. Bread was crisp and buttery, avo was plentiful, cheese was melted perfectly over the juicy charred meat patty. Also comes w mayo and chopped lettuce. Fries were fried perfectly to a nice crisp and the perfect amount of salt. There were plenty to share w my wife. We also tried their strawberry shake ($ 3.80) that is made w real ice cream and comes w whip cream on top. This too was very good and a perfect finish to a meal. They have one size and it’s about the size of a medium Starbucks drink.
Service: outstanding! All of the employees had smiles on their faces and welcomed us as we walked in. We had our baby w us and they were trying to make her smile as well. When you order a burger, they tell you everything that is on it and make sure you are ok w their toppings. They brought out a high chair to us as well which was nice that they didn’t point in the direction of where they are and have us get it ourselves. Staff went around as people are and asked how everything was tasting which was also nice. Great customer service here! Keep it up!
Parking: it’s a shared lot and there is plenty of parking around the small strip of stores. We did go on a Tuesday night at 730, so it may be a different story on a weekend bc it is a large shared lot w Target.
Definitely will be back here for another burger and shake! Felt very satisfied spending my money here.

The Habit burger is such an awesome restaurant! What I love most about them is how quick they are so if you’re always in a hurry like myself this is a good spot.
I tried the new portobello mushroom with Swiss burger on sourdough bread-​it was delicious!!! The bread had a hint of garlic that just made each bite even better than the last. And those fries. Wow! I absolutely love them! They’re definitely fresh, well flavored and simply hmm… perfect. My friend had a char burger which is basically a cheeseburger and onion rings that she couldn’t have enough of. They have a pepper bar there too so if you like an extra kick they have jalapeños, banana peppers and one other type I couldn’t recognize. They also have different dressings but their ranch is amazingggg!
The Habit is such an awesome place to go to especially if you’re on a budget-doesn’t hurt your pocket at all!

I had heard great things about Habit from some friends I the past, so I was very excited when this location opened up very close to home. I’ve been several times now and each time has been a great experience. The line is long but quick, however it could be faster if the cashiers didn’t pause in the ordering process to call out your order to the cooks. Perhaps that’s a tradition from the restaurants beginnings or something, but it’s really just an opportunity to get your order messed up. Luckily that hasn’t happened yet, but it’s still a step that can and should be skipped.
The food is excellent. Burgers cooked to order, really good meat, produce, buns, sides, and drinks. I’ve gotten the bacon char burger several times and it is super good. The fries are nice and crispy too.
The seating is comfortable an spacious, an they’ve also got enclosed outdoor seating which is nice too. I’ve had their food both at the restaurant and as takeout, and both experiences are great.

Yeah for The Habit coming to Oceanside!
This location is just as great as the ones I have been to in LA and OC, they hire a fantastic staff and the food is consistently great.
Clean and modern store, plenty of seating and not too full when we came for an early lunch.
My favorite here is the Ahi sandwich or the cobb salad sub ahi for the chicken.
Both super fresh, good quality and fair portions for the price.
Kids meals are generous, my husband loves the burgers, we all like the fries, great addition to the area, glad they are doing so well and expanding all over!

Santa Barbara Cobb salad was amazingly delicious. It took a bit longer than the burgers but was fresh and delish. If you’re looking for a lighter meal this might not be the option for you. It was pretty hearty packed with cheese, bacon, avocado.
My date ordered a burger and it was juicy and meaty. I would go into more detail but he only let me have one bite :(
We also ordered the fried green beans with ranch dressing. They were great! The batter was light and not too greasy. The green beans I side still had a nice crunch to them. The ranch was the epitome of ranch flavor. Creamy and savory. It may have been made in house, it was that good.
Service was upbeat and friendly. I hope the whole chain is like this cause they’re popping up every where!

I love the habit!
From the interior to the burgers this place is like the «Panda Express» for Hamburgers. You walk in and it’s a take out or sit down kind of restaurant, where the food is prepared a bit better than McDonald’s but a little bit less high end than Slater’s. I ordered the teriyaki char burger and to my amazement came to find out all the char burgers came with grilled onions. I hate onions so I ordered without. I got the teriyaki char burger with cheese; the burger was small. Filled good with pineapple though and lettuce and mayo/​ketchup. The burger was good, and the fries even better.
The portions were a bit normal. No «over flowing» fry buckets here. But it’s just enough to get you full. The sweet potatoe fries are a must try! I ordered regular and wished I should’ve gotten the sweet ones instead! My boyfriend got the BBQ bacon and said it was also the best thing ever.
This place is great. Not too expensive either, about $ 6.50 for the first combo, and $ 8 total for my burger with fries and a drink.

I love Habit Burger! I was first introduced to the hamburger chain in LA (the one next to LAX) and loved it! I was so excited they opened one close by to me. I finally had time to stop by and grab a burger yesterday.
I ordered:
— Teri Char (burger with grilled pineapple, grilled onions, teriyaki sauce)
— tempura’d green beans
Total: under $ 7.00
They have a pepper bar near the counter, that also offers lemons and limes. I asked for ranch and they were more than happy to give me one. Friendly service, checking on tables if they want refills and what not (surprising because it’s an «order at the counter» kind place). When I was finished and standing up to throw away my tray, an employee offered to take it and toss it for me. I’ve had their onion rings and sweet potato fries before and both are good! Love this burger chain!
