The food is good for quick bbq. However it wasn’t great. This is your middle of the road bbq joint. This is good for a quick lunch or dinner.

I absolutely love this place! It is by far the best bbq I have EVER eaten!!! I love the turkey, the sausage, the brisket… And there’s awesome sides to choose from too. I can never order without getting some of their famous peach cobbler too. It’s amazing how quick they make the orders and the terrific service is such a rare thing these days. When I’m driving home, thinking I don’t want to cook dinner, the first place I think of is Rockin Q. I can trust that I’m going to get great service and that I’ll get through the drive thru quickly so that I can get home to my family and enjoy the Best BBQ in town! I only wish there was one on eighth street so I could enjoy it during my lunch hour also!

Very reasonable price, friendly and hardworking staff, one of the best barbecue place in Odessa, TX. We frequently eat here.

Great BBQ here! Has been voted best in our town several years in a row. Super friendly service and very prompt as well. This is my daughters favorite place to eat. They have out door seating which I love because here in Texas it stays warm most of the year. We take advantage of the seating and enjoy the nice warm days eating fresh BBQ and drinking sweet tea! Highly recommended by locals as well!

I have lived in Odessa for over two years and have never come here. Not sure why. This place is great! I had the pulled pork and chopped brisket. So so so so good.

Ok this place is SOGOOD! We were driving through — only here for one night. I had to have BBQ in TX! After reading the views and seeing how close it is to our hotel, we decided we’d try it. I called to order take out and they said I could only order take out for 10+ people but their drive thru is fast! Even better! Now the drive thru was a bit confusing — I had to drive around the building and had to back in because I’m not the best after I’ve already been 10 hrs in the car. The voice on the other side was friendly and helpful, though his accent was thick so a little difficult to understand. When I pulled up to pay, there was a very white guy who asked me a question in his thick Mexican accent — he was joking around. It was hilarious. So fun! PAnd the food was fabulous! A great experience for my daughter and me on our road trip!

People at my job love this place so I decided to give it a try. I don’t see why they happen to b so hooked on this place. Truth is the food is just ok. I was disappointed actually. The setting is nice. Compared to most restaurants in Odessa though this is one of the best. … Sad to say but it’s true

First of all, their ribs are very good. I especially love the all you can eat rib night on Thursdays. Tonight, I received excellent service by one of their employees who gave me a free ice cream that I wasn’t expecting. I only wish that I knew their name so I couldn’t mention it in this review.

Perfect. Passing through town and wanted some real BBQ. Unilocal doesn’t usually fail me in these situations. You could eat some by-the-interstate chain junk or something authentic. Maybe if you’re some sort of Texas barbecue nut you’ll find something to quibble about, but for anyone else it’s just what the doctor ordered: yummy real food in a real setting. Warning: ribs may be habit forming.

I think that most Texans hold BBQ to a certain(sometimes not achievable) standards. There are some places in Odessa that I just flat out do not like. A waste of money for some overpriced rubbery pieces of meat. But Rockin’ Q is NOT one of those places. I’ve lived here for 12 years and not once went by. I checked Unilocal for reviews and still decided to give it a try. I enjoyed it! We got take out — a 3 meat plate with ribs,(chopped) brisket and sausage with beans and potato salad for sides and peach cobbler for dessert. Everything was hot — and was still hot by the time we got home.(Adding this because of the reviews on cold food.) The food was decent — not the quality I was reading about. I highly enjoyed the potato salad. But let’s talk about that peach cobbler though. I want to drive back to the other side of town for some more because it was AMAZING. Not once, in my entire life, have I ever — and I mean EVER — had peach cobbler that I felt was GOOD. Hell, the peach cobbler alone is worth going back.

Food was okay. Wasn’t nasty but wasn’t great. Food was cold when we recieved it. Brisket was not tender to liking. Jalepeno sausage was ok. Pulled pork was delicious.

I have only been here twice and both times it was bad. I came here when they first opened and I didn’t get anything because to me they were way overpriced. Years later I decide to give them another chance since they have all you can eat ribs. So I order my food and waited and waited and waited. They served everyone around me but I guess they forgot about me. When I talked to the manager about it he didn’t even bother to try to make it up to me until after I told him I wanted my money back. If I want good BBQ I will just go to the new place in town.

Nice atmosphere! Order at the register from a decent menu. Didn’t wait long for my order which was served hot! The chopped beef sandwich was very good, flavorful and not sopping with sauce. The bun was warm and grilled too! I had the combo, which included a side and drink. There are a variety of side, I chose Mac n Cheese, which was also hot! I had the traditional tea, iced and sour!

Worst. BBQ. Ever! First time there… Last time there. Was in town with someone from Georgia and wanted to show them what Texas BBQ was all about, and I failed. Food was basic at best, and also not hot. Brisket was horrible, despite them saying it was the best thing on their menu. Condiments were not available. Service was good, so that’s why they get 1 star. But good was very very bad.

I haven’t eating here in years. Now I remember why. The barbeque is mediocre at best. Dry and I mean dry brisket that had to be oven baked. No smoke ring or bark. The ribs were all bone little meat. Like something you would get your dog at pet smart. The sausage was cold and bland. The sides were nothing special. I received old Mac and cheese and the beans were mainly canned tomatoes with a very little beans. Avoid this place and if you still go tell them to microwave the food before you get it. Way over priced and best served out of the dumpster.

I took my chance on the sweet tea but the previous reviewer is right, it was awful– wasn’t sweet at all and tasted like it was a week old. Smh. We got the sliced brisket and the sausage and they were ok, not the best but decent. My beans were kinda disappointing but the green beans and Mac and cheese were great. Not sure she gave me the right bbq sauce, it had an H on it and it was pretty watery. In the end I added sugar to the tea and used our own bbq sauce from the fridge and it was alright.

Best in the basin Lmao ! More like worst in Texas??? Never in my life had such terrible brisket… I Just spent 50 bucks on a family dinner main portion being brisket. The entire portion of brisket was tight as ive ever seen in a cut of brisket and not a single bit of juice, nor flavor, nor smoke ring. Would have had to have 2 gallons of water to eat one portion of that garbage. so that’s where it ended up … shit canned. Ribs were surprisingly decent. The chicken was Def dry and not smoked about as bad as the brisket. All the sides were mediocre and would have been more effective for me to to break out my can opener to some Bush’s beans, and ez mac .
Don’t waste your money on this sub par over priced so called BBQ joint. New comers to town I’d much recommend Jack Jordans even tho they aren’t too much better you will more than likely recieve a Little bit more quality/carefully smoked meat for your hard earned money . For those of you who call this place good, might ought to reevaluate your definition of good or may have never had the pleasure of tasting REALBBQ this ain’t it. Typical Odessa business practice, charge more, give less ! Advertising best in the basin … My ass! Shame on you rockin Q take that b/s down till you guys can back that statement up ! Get your shit together crooks!

If this is the best BBQ in town then I feel sorry the people of Odessa. The sausage was no better than grocery store sausage, the brisket was average at best, the beans were undercooked, the green beans were cold and the cobbler was bland. Very disappointed.

This place is awesome! Just visited for the first time and LOVEIT!!! Now I’ll admit I’m not the easiest to please either. The costumer service here is definitely above and beyond. The waitress/cashier was funny, cheery and very polite. She knew her menu and guided me to something that i loved. The food is just as good(I had a brisket and sausage sandwich). Cooked perfectly and the BBQ sauce… Mmmm mmm mmmm… This is one of my favorite new places.
