Absolutely terrible experience!!! If I could give zero stars I would. This lady who was responsible to seat guests was the absolute rudest little ^#%*+ that I have ever experienced. Maybe she had a bad day but certainly leave your problems at home and don’t be rude and evil to customers. Negative 5 stars for this location and experience.

I have since been back to the egg & I and it was much better. I do not recommend the eggs what-so-ever but my husband and I split the French toast & biscuits and gravy, both were great!

Good little gem in Odessa TX fresh food good service Eli was a great server he even handled a complaining customer behind me who came in 5 min till closing and didn’t know what to order and told her boyfriend I thought this was a burrito place lol really the egg and I where you get burrito de carne asada from that then she ask Eli is there like a Denny’s around here or do you have chicken fried something lol she finally orders French toast then really shows her colors by being on phone with boss via text and tells boyfriend I told my boss that’s what she’s there for to cover people who call off really lol no the boss is there to supervise and run the place not to cover employees who skipped out on work to sleep in and run around with her boyfriend or run around on her boyfriend lol well that was my interesting afternoon thought I would share it with you guys but if your in Odessa try this place.

Awesome place! Went on a Sunday morning and only waited about 5 – 7 minutes to be seated. Our waitress was the nicest! Always made sure we had everything we needed! Food was amazing. definitely recommend the Cambridge skillet. My boyfriend said it was one of the best breakfasts he’s had. Everything was really good and fresh tasting. Definitely give it a go!

Just your ordinary breakfast joint. Better than waffle house and worse than IHOP. It’ll do in a pinch but not worth the line I’ve seen out the door. What has happened to our food standards, we work hard for our money should we expected quality food when we sprnd our money.

Service was fast and friendly we ordered the French toast and two eggs over with bacon and it was excellent. Blueberry pancakes were very very good. Coffee was brought tothe table in a little pot. Coffee was OK but on the weak side.

I’ve been here twice and it was amazing both times. The service is great! The wait was shot 10 – 15 minutes both times, but we didn’t mind waiting. Very nice environment. And the food is even better. I definitely recommend it!

Ate here 8.11 and I had 4 egg whites, sour dough toast, and coffee. The water and the coffee were good. The eggs were done well, and the toast was good. The service was good. This delivers a consistent and tasty sit down breakfast.

My fiancé, future sister in law and I had the opportunity to eat here while attending a wedding in Texas last weekend and this place served up some of the best breakfast we have all ever had! I had the Wisconsin scramble and it was delicious to say the least. The restaurant itself was cozy and the service was quick and attentive. Breakfast is all of our favorite meals and all three different meals we ordered were fantastic. I would recommend this location for anyone staying in the Odessa/Midland area or staying at one of the 3 hotels located in the same plaza.

I ordered the Bacon Avocado Chicken sandwich & it was absolutely terrible. I asked for mayo instead of honey mustard & it was just piled on there. I went to take a bite & it was literally coming out the sides of the sandwich and falling in the table. Pretty gross. The avocado was more black than green and really mushy. The chicken was also very unappetizing. Needless to say, I didn’t eat it. I ended up ordering a side of wheat toast & eating that for my brunch. That was the best $ 10 toast I’ve ever had. I will not be returning.

First time being in Odessa and I have to say the breakfast and coffee were fantastic! Even though it was super busy I got seated in a timely fashion and was attended to quickly, no problems whatsoever. My food was delicious everything was on point. I highly recommend this place if your looking for breakfast while in Odessa.

Having visited The Egg & I at this location several times, I feel that perhaps the quality is hit and miss. The first time, it was excellent; I had the Parisian Benedict. The second time I had the Hiker’s Benedict, and it was not very good; the egg was overcooked, and the proportions were way off. The coffee is better than most places.(Warning: This rating may be exaggerated because of Odessa’s glut of food choices.)

Great service, large portions. I ordered the sausage omelet and they scrimped on the sausage. The pancakes are huge! Serves breakfast and lunch only. A wide variety of healthy choices.

Food was excellent and was served quickly even during the lunch rush. Waitress was a bit slow and distracted but otherwise pleasant. I’d give it 3.5 stars if that was possible but short of 4. Compared to the other dining options in Odessa it IS a 4 out of 5.

Not impressed. The fried potatoes were so bland. Grits were runny. Soda almost flat. Too pricey and disappointed. Won’t be back.

Food was delicious. Waitress was very friendly. This place is understaffed. They need to hire more employees. Overall experience was great.

First visit based on Unilocal reviews. Tried the egg white omelets. See photos. Prompt service and available table on Sun in Dec 2014. Courteous and friendly staff. Worth another visit. Omelets so large I would consider order one and split it with table partner. Depending on your table beverage; coffee, water, soft drink they leave a carafe at table so you refill on your own. Jelly provided at table but I want some peanut butter with toast which was provided. Lots of breads to choose from for your toast, just ask.

I have two issues with those who are complaining about the long wait at The Egg & I. First, if you have a wait, you are not going at the right time of day. I go to the Egg & I quite often… at 6 – 7 a.m. I never wait. In fact, my table is usually only one of 3 – 4 in the whole place. The service is great at the time and the food is usually top notch. I am taking away a star only because I have made special requests in the past which were not followed. But I’m not one to complain, so I usually pick off what I don’t want and go on about enjoying my food. Second, if you are complaining about the wait, you must be new to the Midland/Odessa area. If you plan on eating out at prime meal times, you better expect a wait wherever you go. This is a boom town in the middle of a boom. You will wait. If you want great breakfast food without a wait, go when they open at 6 a.m. during the work week, or at 7 a.m. on the weekends. I assure you, there won’t be a wait.

This was a great breakfast joint. Food was good compared to the price. Almost every dish involved eggs to some point so be ready for that. There is complementary coffee in the waiting area. The waitstaff was very friendly, and efficient. I had the french toast which was topped with cinnamon and sugar french toast which was delicious. The butter was flavorful but not too sweet.
