Having been fans of the original cupping room at the farm, we were thrilled to have another AFC around. Conveniently located next to the Old Saybrook train station, this makes a comfy place to wait for a friend’s arrival or grab a hot cup of coffee and eats for our train trip. Warm and welcoming with wifi available, too!

Well, I visited Ashlawn Farm Coffee, again, this past weekend and they were out of the sausage, biscuit and egg sandwich, AGAIN. Please make more; my daughter looks so forward to this when we visit. Thank you in advance for doing so.

Came here for some coffee and pastry, while a bit on the pricier side, the ambiance and amazing coffee make it well worth the cost!

Best coffee in town! I always try to stop by when I’m home from school. Ashlawn has authentic coffee and they make a number of great specialty drinks. My go-to is iced coffee but I’ve had lattes, cappuccinos, and some of their specialty drinks. They’re consistently good! Service is always warm and friendly even when they’re incredibly busy. I appreciate how attentive the staff is. Very clean and cozy and a great place to meet up with friends.

An oasis in an unexpected location. Tucked into a strip mall conveniently located at the train station this place is like steeping into all the good things about a farm(barn wood, good food, coffee smells) with none of the bad parts… Chill staff, good quality… Slightly pricey on the fancy drinks but a much higher quality than you get at Starbucks for a similar price point: ie a real Maple Syrup latte with local maple for the same price as a sugary Starbucks mocha. IMO Ashlawn is better quality for the slightly higher price.

I really want to love this place. The décor is awesome, the drinks a good mix of classic and flavored beverages, and frankly not many places roast their own coffee fresh around here. There are a few things that I was disappointed with that would limit me visiting more often. First, the coffee should have a «roasted on» date on all the bags. This is standard in craft coffee. Second, the last two times I have been in the barista pulling shots clearly wasn’t using enough pressure when tamping and thus the shot came out thin and watery. This place could have it all, but needs a little quality control before it really can be considered on par with other third wave coffee establishments.

My favorite coffee spot in this little town! Great staff, very friendly, and the little bites and coffee are just so perfect! I’m always on the hunt for a good chai latte and the chai here is a little sweeter than I like it but it’s still good with a wide selection of milk from whole to almond. They offer bagels, croissants, muffins, and sandwiches. Came here two days in a row got the cranberry raisin bran muffin both times– deliciously loaded with raisins and cranberries and not overly sweet just the way I like it. How long has this place been here?! Wish I knew about this little gem of a spot sooner! I love it’s convenient location; right next to the train, a cup to go or a cup when I come home :)

Hot cider was heavily laced with cinnamon. It’s neither a good nor a bad thing, but it’s something to keep in mind if your ciders don’t typically contain it. Also very sweet, and almost tasted like a liquid Red Hots. Husband complains that it was«ridiculously hot,» but he spilled it all over himself trying to remove the lid, so… I couldn’t decide between the hot chocolate and the Aztec mocha, so I asked for their Aztec spice(chili, cinnamon, and sugar?) in my hot chocolate instead. Very willing to accommodate. I liked the idea, but the overall drink(including the chocolate part) was just too weak. Space itself is cozy(with a fake fireplace) and conducive to studying or hanging out.

Great local coffee shop. They do everything right. Coffee is fresh and the food choices are great. Lots of organic and healthy choices. Lots of wood for a comfortable, rustic feel that fits right in. I come here too often!

Great little place right next to the Old Saybrook Amtrak Station! I got the espresso and the maple latte. Espresso was solid. Maple latte a little on the sweet side, sorta like a pumpkin spice latte. Very friendly staff. I recommend.

Great place to meet up with a friend, and catch up! Love the farmhouse blend coffee(got a pound to take home) pastries and snacks are de-lish! Soup, sandwiches, and light fare, pair well with the hand crafted, locally roasted coffee. Parking can be tricky, so make sure you park in the right colored spots or get a ticket! Staff is friendly. Atmosphere is clean and casual.

I refer to the Metro North/Amtrak Station site in OLDSAYBROOK. Direct exit from Interstate 95. A ‘sweet’]s] spot, indeed. Outside the store, about four tables & chairs are waiting for patrons [that is in the event CT ever warms up].The indoor area is surprisingly large [for a mall stop]; decorated with Western whimsy. Sort of a Jackson Hole kind of vibe. The baristas are accommodating, although tentative in smiles. I’m not certain ‘why’ as I’m a pleasant person with an obvious ‘following’. Their flaky chocolate croissants OOZE just the right amount of a gooey dark yummy lava. A friend enjoyed the colourful quiche Sunday morning [its true, real men do eat quiche]. And lest I forget, THEASHLAWNCOFFEES. Numerous forms of the freshly ground bean ready to be perked. Oh so many ways one can indulge a coffee ‘fix’. I am an over 65 senior, and do half caf/half reg with a reduction in sweet syrup used. Toffee nut latte is the 4th of July for me. I wish ASHLAWN had a site closer in proximity to me. I reside in the Wesleyan University area. We’ve got a hippy coffeehouse and one tiny place which seems right out of Greenwich Village, but we do not have ASHLAWN. Continued success. And please,‘smile’. If we’ve but one life to live, we might as well be served our brew with good faith and cheer.

The maple latte is delicious. The top half of my sandwich was a little cold but their friendly service made up for it.

Cute little coffee shop next to Old Saybrook’s Amtrak/Shore Line East station. I got an iced maple latte which was delicious, wish I could have hung around in the shop longer but they were just about to close, it looked like nice place to hang around. I wish I got down this way more often, but when I do I’ll definitely stop back.
