The service is always awesome and my drinks are always made perfect only thing I can complain about is sometimes the wait is a little long.

Rude and condescending boy took my order acting as though it was an inconvenience. Disappointed to say the least. This young man needs a class in Manners 101.

Went in late Saturday night(8:00) for an trenta ice coffee with an espresso shot another customer came in while the girl that took my order was putting away stock the girl making my coffee stopped in the middle of making mine to wait on the only other customer in the store??? The original girl that took my order could have easily walked behind the counter and took his order??? Not only did she stop mid brew but the coffee actually was watery and terrible Not what I am used to by Starbucks standards Dunkin doughnuts is better and they are friendlier have had similar issues there in the past but let them slide until now Will not be going back

Very slow service, year-round. I’ve come on regular weekends, holiday weekends, days or nights. There is often a line back to the door. Worse, the cashier won’t give you your drip coffee order directly; you need to wait in line for kids-with-Frappuccinos and moms-with-«nonfat blah soy chai”-and-huge-bugeyed-sunglasses. This joint needs adult supervision!

Wow!!! Some harsh reviews on this one! IMO, this is the best Starbucks in the area, Niantic being a close second, followed by Groton, and Madison being dead last. Sure, no one likes to wait in line, but heck, it’s Starbucks! I’ve been to them all around the country, major airports, NYC, Boston, and there is always a line!(Unless of course it’s the end of the day, or first thing after the doors open! The staff here is ever friendly, even when frazzled. Kai and Mike are the best!!! (As well as several others, whose names escape me) Always good for a laugh, and good conversation if there’s time. Though I’m not corporate, I love good coffee, and Starbucks is a FAV. Old Saybrook is a place I love. Hope they get a Clover machine! Oh, if it’s shortly after school gets out, there’s going to be a line. Parking can be sucky if it’s busy. If lot is full, park on the street.

I’m from NYC and I came here with my 6-month old boy. The staff are nice and very accommodating to my needs. The people here are friendly too. Downsides are: small and cramped space. I’m guessing it’s the only Starbucks in town. Plus sides: outdoor seating, parking and free wifi. So enjoy your beverage!

Getting worse. Completely mismanaged. I can’t begin to tell you how far down hill this place has gone. But hopefully it will get fixed. In the meantime the Starbucks in Niantic is better if you don’t mind the ride.

This is an awful Starbucks! I summer here in Old Saybrook, and so this is my second home Starbucks. They are understaffed, and the staff they do have is totally incompetent. They actually cannot read. They write what you ask for on the cup, but put something else in it, nearly every time! They cannot handle a rush hour, let alone regular service hours. This place is in serious need of a strong manager to get the cashiers and baristas in shape. UPDATE: it’s Saturday morning of Labor Day Weekend. The line is out the door. They have but TWO people working the entire store: ONE cashier and ONE barista. It took me a HALF-HOUR to get my coffee. I am not one to be harsh; but, THISPLACESUCKS!!! They don’t deserve the one star Unilocal forces me to give them…

Broad entry. Friendly greeting & more personal treatment than a typical Bucks. No drive thru. Lots of tile & hard wood chairs & windows versus club chairs & carpet. Tight parking. Really great outdoor brick patio to chill out on. Ample retail. Eclectic music. Wifi. Small restroom.

So, I wouldn’t normally review a Starbucks, since I go to various Starbucks’ locations, but the service at this location was so poor that I had to make note of it. As a ‘gold card’ member, I got my free drink card in the mail, and my husband had also just received a free drink card as well, so we went in to use them. The woman at the register was so nasty about it, I couldn’t believe it. She huffed and puffed and said something like ‘Ugggh, you have a FREE one. ugh… Oh, YOU have one too? Ugh”. Really? Its not like the free drink for me is coming out of her paycheck — what does she care? If you can’t be at least vaguely pleasant, perhaps its time to find a new job where you aren’t working with the public! Next time I will head in the other direction to the Starbucks in Niantic!
