Seriously people if it’s past 7:00am DONOT go to Starbucks! Go here. I am a Starbucks addict and have literally not been able to get out of Starbucks quicker than 15 – 20 min lately. I go in here, and get the most wonderfully prepared lattes. Half the price. The gentleman who owns the place is so sweet. Their menu looks good too!

NOPE. Never again(Not that I’m in this area often), but my experience wasn’t exactly pleasant considering I just went in for a coffee. Their condiment bar looked like it was raided by a swarm people — which I doubt considering how small the place was. It should have been cleaned better. They looked at me funny when I asked if they had«Non-dairy creamer», and they really weren’t very pleasant behind the counter.

Little sandwich shop gem. I’m surprised to be the first Unilocaler(added the business). I sat down and ate my turkey sandwich as I listened to compliment after compliment from satisfied patrons to the nice man behind the counter. Too bad I don’t live out here, because I’d be back.

Lovely local place. Delicious, flavorful fresh sandwiches on fresh ciabatta rolls. The best fresh lunch in the area. Nice indoor or outdoor, shady seating. We come almost every time we stay with my in-laws in Westbrook.

Outstanding place to drop in for a coffee. $ 1.81 after tax and worth every penny. Take a seat and relax at one of the outdoor tables

I can’t understand the poor or so-so reviews of this place. My husband and I love this place. We drive 20 minutes each way to get their bagels on weekends. They are so good, apparently they get them fresh from NY every morning. We mostly go for breakfast, which has always been excellent. The owner is a nice, hardworking guy who clearly puts a lot of care into the food, and we like to support a local small business. We recently discovered their soups for lunch, which are all homemade – so far we’ve tried four varieties and loved them all. This is our only breakfast spot in Old Saybrook since Paperback Café is not so great any more after its owners changed.

I find the breakfast sandwiches to be delicious and a good alternative to dunkin or McDonald’s. the coffee is good, the prices are reasonable and it’s a cute spot.

Food was ok. Eggs were undercooked from what I ordered. The thing I really disliked was one of the middle-aged guys working there(didn’t get a name) kept blaming a customer, after she left, for a mistake with our food. Hello customer service 101. He should have just apologized and moved on. I probably won’t go back.

Lovely little spot with a ton of personality, the right choice if you want to support local business instead of the boring, always-the-same Starbucks next door

This place looks so cute from the outside but the inside is awful! The coffee was not very good, the bathroom was disgusting and they require a $ 5 minimum for cards which they have no signage for. Come on, you are a coffee shop… most of your drinks are under $ 5.

Pretty good pastries, very rustic artsy look and decoration and coffee that rivals… starbucks(whatever that means to you). The owner is very nice however I dont care for the sandwiches and I feel as though its a bit overpriced for what you get.

From the cool name and the cutesy looking building, I was thinking«OK, this looks like a place where I can get a good lunch.» But the truth is I got quite a lousy lunch. My tuna sandwich was very bland and the portion was quite small. They even skimped on the potato chips. Afterwards I was still hungry. I would not return based on my first visit.
