Amaze balls!!! LOVED this place. too bad I live so far! was greeted by the sushi chef as we walked in. All the rolls were reasonably priced and delicious. The service was honestly not that great but only bc we had what seemed like a new young male waiter who wasnt very intuitive-had to ask for silverware, napkins, waters, drink refills. BUT I could tell by the service others were getting that this was an exception. Still a 5 because of the food, ambience, and overall experience.

Awesome! There were four of us and we had six rolls each of them delicious and big. My favorite was the crunchy calamari roll followed closely by the Alaskan roll

Aya is one of my favorite sushi spots. Any new sushi place I try out, I always come back to Aya. Their prices pretty decent and you get what you pay for. The location is alright and the interior is beautiful. Staff are friendly and helpful, and you will be greeted as soon as you enter the restaurant. Although, I do wish they had more ‘daily specials’ My favorite is I believe called the«Jack in the Box» which has salmon, crab, shrimp, avocado and small lemon slice on top.

The food was great but our server forgot a few things that we ordered hence the four stars. I believe she was training another server so I would assume this isn’t the norm. Still, I will definitely come back.

What impressed me the most about this restaurant is the atmosphere. The lighting is soft, the music is just loud enough to set the tone on your dinning experience. The wait staff are dressed well and the whole place is very clean. I brought my daughter here for her 13th birthday and we both had veggie dishes. Then the waitress surprised us by dressing my daughter’s mochi cake into a candle lit and cool whip trimmed dessert. Its obvious they care about the customer experience here.

Not great, not terrible. Definitely a disappointment though based off of the reviews. The ingredients used in our two rolls(Olympia and Hot Night) were not fresh at all. It’s especially unsettling when one of them has a very strong fishy smell and taste. Our order was a pick-up order, and when I went to go get it, I waited at the front, and the server came to greet me, but when I told here I was there for a pick-up, she was noticeably disappointed and barely even seemed to know that a pick-up order was even a thing that existed. So she brought me over to the register near the back, and a nice older lady took over. Since we’ve only just been in town since December, this was the first sushi place we’ve tried in town, so now we’ll be trying all of the rest of them.

Went here for lunch today after going to the beach. We ordered the Fireball roll, Hawaiian roll, and the Salmon roll. They were so good! My favorites are the Hawaiian & Fireball rolls. Mmm! I topped it off with some yummy Red Bean Mochi ice cream for dessert. So good! The restaurant is really cute. I love the décor. It’s a bit pricey, but well worth it. We will definitely be going back!

This was my favorite sushi place in Olympia. I gave them a second chance after the bad health inspection, however it does not appear that the establishment has implemented the food safety standards. The primary one is hand washing. My last visit there were flecks of what I’d assume to be fish in my ice water. Also the glasses and miso soup bowls were delivered to the table with a sticky residue with similar white flecks. This is where I’m assuming it is fish and the hand washing obviously is not occurring between different tasks. I’m sad I will not be returning to this venue, but food safety cannot be compromised for a great roll.

Love this place! It’s my go to sushi spot in the Oly area. I love the Sex on the Beach roll and The Matador roll. The ambiance is excellent! The prices are reasonable and the quality of the food is great. My only issue has been with the staff, and even that is hit or miss. More often than not, the staff is inviting, friendly, and attentive. I have, however, found myself waiting for service and I when I thought we should have been taken care of. Either way, I’m usually not in a rush while I’m there and I will continue to go back because I love their food.

I’m not a big sushi roll person but this place had some good ones. And lunch bento boxes. Fire roll and cracker were great as long as you like spicy. It gets a four. Wait staff was nice and parking was in a strip mall parking area.

Stopped in with my husband and mother in law for weekday lunch. We all ordered rolls from the Daily specials. It wasn’t overly busy and our waitress was friendly and reasonably attentive. These rolls were huge! My husband ordered the cracker which was spicy, with crispy potato and rice. I have never had anything like it, very enjoyable. I ordered the triple rainbow, also delicious, with thick cuts of fish on top. I could barely finish my roll. The only downside to our experience was, not all of the food came out at once so my mother in law had to wait while everyone else had there food in front of them.

A great place to have FRESH sushi :-) and the miso soup was really good, the little tofu made the flavor more layered. Having sushi at night is very nice in aya sushi since the inside is a dark place, it’s relaxing to be inside the restaurant. The men who made the sushi looked at me and smiled saying thankyou to me while I smiled back at them, they have really good manners :-) very happy that I went there, I will be going back soon.

Terrible service. Never actually got anything to eat. We were seated in a timely fashion, asked for water. Then waited and watched as 2 other groups BEHIND us were seated, asked their drink orders AND food orders. After timing our silent wait for 5mins(after the group Behind us has been sat and asked their order), we went to the bar part and asked for a manager. The waitress who was responsible for us came running up asking if we needed anything. I asked for a manager and she pointed to a nice lady who didn’t know much English and said it was her. That lady said no, it’s not her. The. The waitress rolled her eyes and said there’s no manager… just the owner who isn’t there. So we left.

The unagi don was pretty good. Sushi not quite. Service is very good. I did notice majority of its customers are non Asian. What’s interesting on their menu is that they also have Korean dishes. Not sure if it’s Japanese Korean fusion? They do have bento boxes for $ 9.95 available from 11am to 3pm. Their boxes are Pretty good decent portion. Came here with a bunch of friends and the server didn’t ask us if we wanted tea or water. They gave us all glasses of ice water. Ok I am fine with that. I did find the miso soup a bit salty. Not my fav. Sushi rice seems to be quite cold. Décor is quite nice. When I walked in there was this Japanese restaurant smell. This is good. Place is quite clean. Washroom was clean. There are lots of parking outside in the mall. This is a plus. Will I come back. Well I think I want to try other restaurants in the area. Maybe unless a friend request to come here.

Had a Dragon Roll and some hot sake. This is one of those places I wish I could afford to eat at more often. Takeaway: Great food, atmosphere, prices match quality. I am pleased with my experience.

Absolutely amazing! Probably the best sushi I’ve ever had. The Nude on the beach and Fireball were ridiculously good and the Three Times a Lady was very good, but it was a little too cold for me, cause of all the seafood in it(just a personal preference). We will continue to drive 30 min from our house to eat here and will try other rolls, which I’m sure are delicious!

Three ladies is one of my favorite rolls. All their options have great flavor. The presentation and delivery of the food is great. Service is average but their food makes of for that. One thing(but I won’t take stars away) is that if you order for pick up, they will tell you 20 minutes, you get there and it’s a 20 minute wait after you show up. It’s happened a couple times– I think I’ll show up 40 minutes later just to see what happens next :-)

Great service and food here a must stop! Hawaiian roll, rainbow roll, spicy tuna hand roll was awesome. Shared a missed fish platter and had the super white tuna which was the best ever! Sit at the sushi bar for an experience and friendly conversation with the sushi chefs here.

Well, this was a horrible dinner tonight. Once again, Unilocal failed. Grateful for a directory of places, but I honestly can’t take the reviews to heart again. Where to start? The part where water wasn’t served in the first 5 minutes we were seated, the part where I constantly had to wave down the waitress for every little thing, or the part where I felt we were treated like two children?(I’m 24 btw, but I felt like the server didn’t want to put any effort into serving us because we were young, or looked young in this case). Service was limited to her taking our orders and bringing our plates to the table. Never came back to ask how our meal was or refilled our drink. Mid way into our meal, my glass was empty and still, no waitress around(busy standing at the register doing nothing or waiting on the other tables, except ours). It wasn’t busy at all and there were 2 other waitresses, so there was no excuse. Food took forever to come. The kicker was that I ordered 10 – 15 minutes before this couple came in, yet somehow their rolls were served before us. Plates came out inconsistently. Our server was particularly nice to the couple at the next table, asking how their meal was, and if there was anything else they wanted. She didn’t do any of that for us. I honestly still wonder why. Anyway, bad service all around(blonde older female). Lastly, the food was gross. Never had such bad sushi before. It’s quite comparable to the day old sushi in the refrigerated aisle at Safeway. Yup, that bad… Fish was not fresh. The spider roll I ordered had little to no soft shell crab. The entire roll was mostly filled with imitation crab. The«deep fried crab» had absolutely no meat. It wasn’t even crunchy! It was like eating leftover fried shrimp, except there was no shrimp and you’re just eating rubbery shells. GROSS. I couldn’t finish my dinner. Gave up half way and called it quit because I lost my appetite. Left ZERO tip because service was so crappy. First and last time coming here.
