The sushi is good. I have been going to Haru every single Saturday since they opened for the $ 20 all you can eat. However I will no longer be going since I was informed just now they won’t be doing all you can eat and the deal for 3 rolls is far too expensive for the quality. While it is good sushi, it’s not even close to what they want to start charging. I’m not about to go from paying $ 20 for as much as I want(4 – 6 rolls) to paying a 3 roll deal, which I do not remember what the lady on Sunday’s said it would be but it was too much. It’s really too bad because I raved about this place and checked in on Facebook almost every weekend and sent a ton of my friends there.

The food is very good, but the service is AMAZING! We’ve enjoyed this restaurant twice now and our waitress has been so sweet to our 4 young kids each time and makes us feel very welcome! We will keep coming back!

Don’t waste your time or money in this place. I decided to try it out and went with the«all you can eat » With its own very special menu. Now I am ok with that, but here was the problem. I started out with 2 rolls, the first was some kinda deep fried roll that I don’t remember the name of. It was ok covered is a glob of mayo but whatever. Then a simple a yellow tail roll. The yellow tail roll says on the menu is that it should come with green onions but there was none in it but there was yellow tail, good size chunks of it. I decided to order one more yellow tail roll and this is where I feel completely ripped off on. The second yellow tail roll showed up and was 95 percent rice with the smallest sliver of fish I ve seen in a sushi roll. For gods sake a cheap chinese buffet puts out a better roll then this crap sandwich they put out. All I could taste the rest of the day was vinegar from the sushi rice. YUCK !!! And of course they make sure to tell you that if you don’t finish the crap they put on the plate that they will charge you extra for each piece you don’t eat. So pretty much you are at the mercy of them to decide what they will charge you. I would just stay away from this place, spend your money somewhere that enjoys putting out quality food instead of thinking of ways to gouge their customers. Sayonara Sushi Haru, I won’t be back !

This replaced the Mongolian grill that charged by the ounce. I must say, I really like this new place! They have a little bit of everything! Korean, sushi, ramen, udon, and of course, Mongolian grill. This place has you fill out a form and you check off what ingredients you want inside your Mongolian grill combo. You can choose from white or fried rice(or brown rice for an extra dollar), whatever meat and veggies you want, yakisoba noodles or rice noodles, and even(randomly) a Chinese chicken dish like orange chicken, lemon chicken, honey garlic chicken, General Tso’s chicken. I think there might have been other choices, but I went with honey garlic which was delicious. You also get to pick whatever sauces you want — I think I picked 4 different ones? It tasted great although a little on the sweet side — maybe I’ll leave off the teriyaki next time. We also ordered the 2 roll combo which was exactly like it sounded — 2 rolls for $ 17. The rolls were good, although I think the Mongolian combo was hands down my favorite and the best bang for my buck. Dinner portion was $ 13 and lunch portion is $ 10. I’m definitely coming back for lunch! The service was excellent, which is why this place earned all 5 Unilocaly stars. The waitress even brought us free chocolate ice cream with nuts on top — what a classy place! Parking is plentiful as it is located in the quiet side of the strip mall — Starbucks and Rite Aid are on the corner and that side is packed.

I was going here fairly often. The all you can eat for $ 19 was pretty good. Yesterday though is probably going to be my last. The fish had been better in past weeks. Yesterday the fish was dried out, colorless, and flavorless. They also started to load up on the rice. On top of that the chef sneezed in his gloved hand. He immediately used the sink to wash his gloved hands and then spit into the trash right by the sushi station. He proceeded to make more rolled sushi to prep for the lunch crowd. New gloves would of been nice. I didn’t need to see him spit into the trash where sushi is made. Lost my appetite. The waitress wondered why I left early(I would normally eat more than I did).

Showed up at 1:52 was seated at 1:54.asked to order All you can eat sushi at 2:01…they said it stopped at 2. I understand you have time frames… but maybe be more understanding when it takes your waitress 9 minutes to take my order from when I arrived.

I enjoyed this place a lot. The lady who served us was really nice. I got the hurricane roll which was really delicious with the seaweed salad on top. Only problem was the tempura was only in some parts of the roll and not throughout the roll. They accidentally gave us nigiri instead of sashimi. They corrected this and did not charge us the nigiri they gave us but still charged us the sashimi. The sushi chef asked us to help fix the tv because they were not sure what was going on. After we helped fixed it, the waitress gave us green tea ice cream on the house as a thank you.

So my family and I wanted to try a new restaurant so we went here… My husband is from New Orleans so food is a REALLYBIGDEAL … I have to say: we LOVELOVELOVE this place!!! The staff was so friendly and both the waitress and sushi chef gave EXCELLENT suggestions on what to eat there! The FOOD: OHHHSOOOSATISFYING! They gave us complimentary Miso soup, DELICIOUS… Then, we ordered the fried soft shell crab and calamari(yummmmm!) for appetizers. Totally not greasy at all, perfectly fried and seasoned. The sushi I had was sooo good, My husband ordered the Haedup Bab. The vegetables were so crisp and the raw fish were amazingly fresh. My daughter’s Jap Chae was so flavorful… I cannot say enough positive things about this place!!! The prices of the food were reasonable, we actually felt like it was money well spent!!! From the time we walked into the restaurant, to the end of our meal, we thoroughly enjoyed our time there! Between the food and atmosphere, we will definitely make this a regular place to eat!!! (PS: The chime when opening the door was not loud at all, sounded like a little«ding», hardly noticeable — we were sitting near the door)

My partner and I want here for lunch today. We had the Chicken Kaarage and Panko Shrimp bento. We started by receiving complimentary miso that was dark and pretty rich. Was a great way to start a winter lunch. Our bento box was pretty standard in size and color but came with a generous bowl of rice that we ended up taking home. The bento had 3 gyoza, 5 tempura shrimp, 8 pieces of karaage 4 pieces of California roll and a big salad. The gyoza were tasty, clearly not house made however. The shrimp and chicken were golden brown but bland. However they came with a sweet chili teriyaki sauce that was killer! The sushi rice on the roll was delicious and the roll itself was sweet and fresh. As we were finishing up they brought out 4 pieces of complimentary fried squid. It was okay. The service was fast and pleasant. Our waters were always full. When the entry way door is opened it chimes very loudly. It was somewhat distracting during the meal but so much worse when we left through said door. Cringingly loud when you have to use it. It’s like an instant headache machine.

I love this place. I went there for lunch one day on my way to class and it ended up being a little slow. However, the sushi was good and it was worth the wait! They can make the sushi rolls gluten free(with tamari — for an extra fee) ! I love the grass green walls, it feels very bright, fresh, and polished. I went again with a friend who was visiting from out of town, and the food arrived much faster this time. Also, the sushi chef was charmed by the way I asked for chopsticks with a hand motion along with my request, so he brought me kids’ plastic chopsticks and offered us a free desert! He had a good sense of humor, and the general feel is good. The lunch specials are a great value. The sushi joint I’ve wanted in Olympia!

Yum. Yum. Yum. Some interesting fusion of flavors and different ethnicities hiding out in their rolls. The Yellow Jalapeño roll was the bomb! I think I’ve finally found my sushi spot in Oly.

New restaurant that is in place of Hot Iron. Everything brand new and re-vamped. They kept the Mongolian grill but no longer the buffet of raw ingredients. Added a full sushi bar with SO many options. A little pricey but worth it and reasonable. I’m already a weekly goer.
