Ordered carryout a few times from this place. Very busy on a Saturday and it was also lent. Ive had the oyster and shrimp po boy and the lobster roll. Both were really good. Lobster roll had nice thick chunks of loster on a buttery roll, mayo wasn’t too overpowering. Solid place to come for seafood.

Calamari — excellent, fried just right. Not rubbery. Perfect texture. Thai sauce goes with it just right. Shrimp and chips — the shrimp were delectable with the perfect batter. Not the usual cocktail sauce was a nice accompaniment. Waitress was one of the best we’ve ever had.

Ate at shucks for the first time ever. I don’t eat seafood or fish really but my family liked it a lot. Great food and great portions. The happy hour food and drinks are awesome. There are other locations in Omaha so you can chose diff parts of town if it’s convenient.

Shuck’s at Legacy is always a good time. Warm atmosphere, great drinks and food, and decent prices. I can’t lie, this location has a pretty cute server/bartender. I always try to get his section when we go ;)

Went on a Wed. They had a good special on a dozen oysters for $ 9 as well $.35 peel and eat shrimp. I will say it was really good. The shrimp had some seasoning on them but they were great tasting. My wife had a oyster app(sorta a rockafella type) for $ 12. It only had 5 oysters(she didn’t read correctly) and was pretty weak for the price. Our service was pretty bad. I specifically asked for a taste of the IPA even saying«I’d hate to not like it and order a pint». My wife asked for a taste of the cider as well. The guy then pours a pint for both of us while chatting with his co-workers. Luckily, the beers tasted good. I then observed him change a keg and beer came spraying out at another customer at the bar. The bartender never apologized. Lucky for him the guy joked about it. We got then got the bill and the beers were $ 5 a piece. The problem was, it was happy hour and beers were $ 1 off. I ended up finding out that the price was normally $ 6 for their draft beer. Way overpriced! Overall, the food we had was good. But I wouldn’t recommend going unless u plan to buy happy hour food only(2 – 6 everyday I believe).

Shucks is a very laid back fish house with great food and a great atmosphere. There are 3 locations: the one downtown on Leavenworth, the original one on 119th and Pacific(in my opinion this is the best one because of the fish market and the atmosphere is the best here), and the legacy location by 168th and west center. The food is very good, they have plenty of different beers, mixed drinks, and wine, and the staff is always very friendly. My favorite thing on the menu is either the Jambalaya or the crispy walleye but I am always trying new things. Whatever it is you get, I highly recommend to get the house rice as your side. All of their Po’Boys are what they’re known for and are the most popular thing on the menu. There are so many things to choose from. I’m not much of an oyster fan myself, but you can watch the shucker shuck open your oysters as you put your order in. It gets pretty busy and they don’t take reservations, so I advise getting there before the rush! Great family place to relax and enjoy a Louisiana style fish house meal!

Went for the first time with the hubs and the parents. Went out on a limb with some grilled oysters. Not for me The grilled oysters were not warm. That weirded me out. But then again, maybe I’m not one of those«oyster» people. The grilled bread it came with was delicious. I am a «carb» person, so that wasn’t surprising. I decided to go with the fish and chips – you’d think a go-to staple. The menu says«fish and chips» served with coleslaw and baby cakes. According to math that’s four things. Three things show up on your plate(actually basket, but I digress). They tried to pass off these«baby cakes» things as the chips. Nay, my friends, nay. The fish wasn’t that good either – wasn’t a fan of the breading style. On the plus side there was malt vinegar on the table. It helped out the fish a ton and also the«chips»(French fries) that I ordered as a side because as we have discussed, those aren’t included in «fish & chips». Bottom line: Won’t be back. Two stars for malt vinegar and general friendliness of the staff.

I’ve been here a few times over the last couple of years and had a few different entrées. Portuguese Mussels: Frequently on their Daily Specials menu. They are largy meaty mussels in a tasty preparation. They’re cooked well and very tender(they don’t turn them into rubber by cooking the heck out of them). I’ve really enjoyed this appetizer and I wish mussels were on their permanent menu. Oysters: I know next to nothing about oysters and decided to try one here for the very first time. I don’t recall the specific varieties I’ve tried, but I’ve had 3 or 4 different ones. I like them all. Most have a clean finish with some more briny than others. Clam Chowder: Very tasty and lots of large chunks of clam. I tend to pepper the heck out of my chowders because I just like that taste. If you’re just wanting something small to eat then try a cup of their clam chowder. Minnesota Style Walleye: I’ve had the crispy(fried) version. It came with fries and coleslaw. The fish was good, but the breading was a little bland for me. I like mine heavy on the salt with a little bit of a kick from some cayenne pepper. Overall, I’d say this entrée was mostly average. Service is usually friendly, but not as attentive as it should be. Wait staff is very knowledgeable of both the menu and beer selection. Overall, I like this place and will be back to try their other menu options.

Love their happy hour menu and prices, not to mention they have gluten free options for their crispy fish, shrimp, and clam strips. They even have a dedicated fryer.

I really enjoy this place! Great food on the menu and their weekly specials menu don’t disappoint. I often go here for lunch and love how quickly I am able to enjoy a meal and get back to the office. The environment is super adorable as well, very beachy. I haven’t had a bad experience here ever. I always look for reasons to go back. Today, I had the fish taco plate. Delicious little pieces of fried fish in a yummy tortilla. The rice and beans are pretty generic but still quite tasty. I can also recommend the shrimp po boy. Great item!!!

Great seafood option in west Omaha. I usually stock up on Runzas, steak and Val’s pizza but I was craving seafood so I took a chance on this place hidden in Rockbrook Center. I got the shrimp poboy combo which came with a cup of gumbo and 3 small potatoes cakes. I got the half sandwich and it was so good that I wished I had gotten the whole one — crispy shrimp with just enough batter on a soft bun with lettuce and a very good remoulade. The gumbo was as thick as gravy but the veggies were still crunchy & not cooked to mush and fish and shrimp were good. The potato cakes were a pleasant surprise with a crunchy texture but a fresh potato taste. All in all a very tasty lunch which I topped off with bread pudding which was warm, firm and had a good, rich cinnamon flavor. It’s not a big place with a R ow of booths, a row of tables and the bar but it has a small outside eating area too. I checked the Happy Hour menu and it had a variety of shrimp & oyster options and a few for non fish esters too. They have an impressive list of wines, beers and microbrews that would be worth exploring. Service was friendly and attentive. I’ll be back!

One of my girlfriends admonished me to go to Shucks and claimed it was«SO much better than Plank», which I admit was hard to believe. Plank is one of my favorite places to go in Omaha. I decided to keep an open mind. The day I received the good news that I had been accepted for a new job, I chose to celebrate at Shucks. From the looks of the outside of the building and being that this restaurant is in the swanky legacy area, I assumed that the interior would be classy inside. The décor just looked like a giant mess, tables dirty and close together. Not really the place for someone who likes to eat their dinner with a little privacy. Our server happened to be a bartender who looked super stressed out and unhappy. I watched him give another co-worker attitude, he barely smiled at us while waiting on us and was rushing to crack a million oysters open while serving probably ten people at the bar. He definitely was overworked and didn’t seem to enjoy his job at all. I ordered«Crawfish Etoufee», a single oyster(it may have been a Duxberry one), a Bloody Mary, and some alcoholic drink I cant remember the name of. I wish I had asked what Etoufee was because if I had known it meant mashing up my crawfish, I would have never ordered. I liked to eat crawfish on its own flavored, not mashed with some tomato sauce. It was good enough to eat but not something I would ever order again. The bread pieces on the side to dip in it saved the dish(enough to finish but wasn’t enjoyable). The mussel didn’t taste as awesome as the menu described it. The Bloody Mary was ok, but I have had better and it was a tad too salty. The other drink was just plain nasty. Reminded me of cheap alcohol I drank as highschooler. I haven’t lost complete faith in the place. I may go back if someone pushes me to go there because I’m sure there are other good plates I haven’t discovered… but out of all places in Omaha, it wouldn’t be a top pick for me. I still am a strong fan of Plank. Sorry Shucks.

Lobster bisque tasted like a tomato Alfredo sauce. Po boys were the highlight. Service was great. I would give it one more chance.

I liked the mussels and shrimps. Although the server brought me the wrong order, the fried shrimp balls weren’t bad, so me and husband didn’t say anything. We came back the other day to buy scallops and snowcrabs to cook at home, we had a great meal.

Good food and good service. I was in town on business and this popped up on Unilocal. I really wanted to try both the clam strips and the popcorn crawfish, so they were nice enough to make a custom combo platter for me. Both items were very tender and fresh. Best clam strips I’ve ever had. I can’t compare the popcorn crawfish since I’ve never had those before, but they were good. The food came out quick and the server was friendly and attentive. Shucks will be on my list for my next trip to Omaha.

I love the Shucks at 120 and Pacific — just love the divey, casual atmosphere. I think it has to try too hard out at Legacy to cater to the Lifetime crowd. Aside from atmosphere, I was SOSO dissapointed that the steamed mussels were FROZEN! I wanted to send them back but was with a friend I didnt know that well. Actually I wanted to spit them out because it was so disgusting … They do have good happy hour prices but I was just really disappointed in the food this time. They werent busy. Maybe just a bad day.

Happy Hour 2 — 6. I came with my parents and fiancé. My uncle introduced my father to Shucks many years ago and he has always loved it. I have no idea how I lived and went to college in Omaha and never have never eaten here. I should have as it was great. We had the Lobster Roll, Shrimp Po’ Boy, Crawfish Po’ Boy, and the shrimp salad. Delish!
