A prefect example of not judging a book by its cover. While the outside might look run down and old. The inside is nice and warm with a great friendly staff. With amazing food. The food was wonderful. I had the Chicken Aphrodite with rice pilaf and a side salad. The chicken had this amazing lemon sauce on it that if I had the courage I would of licked the plate. It had slices of tomatoes and avocado with the chicken which just made for a great flavor combo. The rice pilaf was cooked just right with pieces of carrots and celery. For desert I had the baklava cheesecake. Which was a baklava filling pilled on top on a New York cheesecake. Yummy yum yum. The whole meal was wonderful. I will definitely come back.

This new location of a long time Greek favorite is quite good. Service is friendly, everything is prepared fresh to order, and there is an interesting selection of hard to find Greek wines.

Had a pasta pastry appetizer that was good and the gyro was mediocre… Been to many greek restaurants and this place is just OK. Super nice owners, however.

Good Greek food. We usually have the gyros. I like mine as a salad. The pita bread is soft and fresh. The tzatziki is also fresh and tasty. Spanikopita and moussaka are both great savory dishes. We’ve tried a few of their Greek wines and enjoyed them as well. Service varies — sometimes good and sometimes slow, but overall we like it. Even my vegetarian daughter enjoys eating there.

Great food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff! We loved everything we ordered. I’m mostly vegetarian, so I ordered the Spinach Melt and was quite happy. I also ordered the vegetarian Grape Leaves served with a tasty tzatziki sauce. Also, delicious. Someone ordered the grouper and really enjoyed it. For dessert, we indulged with the Baklava Cheesecake. Great ending to a great meal. We ordered the entire meal as take-out, but I went in to pick it up and ended up chatting with the staff for a couple minutes as they gathered my order. Looking back, I’m really surprised the place was empty. The inside of the place was nice and shocked me because the outside of the building seems kind of dumpy. They told me they expect to be busier when the Publix opens. I wish them much success, because we enjoyed it and will surely be back!

I love falafel and this place has some delicious falafel. Too bad it is sooo far away. We stopped in here because one of my daughters had to get her car serviced at the vw place. She had heard good things about this place, so we stopped in. The rumours were correct. If you are on Colonial and you are hungry, find this place.

When you are looking for a place to eat, try this place out. Incredable food ! The owners /chefs have been cooking for over 30 years. I have never had greek food this awesome since I left home. We had great food while growing up, but this restaurant brings home to me. I recommend the sampler platter for dinner, that way you get to sample three of their great entrée’s in one meal. And i hate desert, but love cheesecake, and they have a desert that is off the chart, baklava cheese cake. If you cant finish this for desert, please take it home, it is the most incredible desert ever. Full bar, great house wine, and awesome service. The place is also very clean and decorated very nicely, it really gives you the feel that your in Greece !

I’m really surprised by the reviews. I just checked them out after we went expecting everyone to be ripping them apart. Anyway, my husband and I went Friday night. We had passed it saying«we must go there» like every day. It was terrible. A waste of $ 42. He had the Gyro, I order the Kotopita which is not what I got. I wanted to review the restraunt on my blog so I purposely didn’t correct them on getting the order wrong. It was a good pass though as the sides were right, just the mains were wrong :/ I also had a Greek salad, and we split the«flaming» cheese app. My favorite part of that was the ants we fished out of the sauce. Nothing like a side of dead ants… And a pitcher of Stella because they were out of Amber Bock(not like it matters!) My food was wrong, and whatever they brought me was freezer burnt and then burnt. I’m usually broke so I’m a pretty good judge of freezer burnt, and that was. My husband also can’t cook, so I’m a really good judge of burnt. We brought our leftovers home because the beer and cheese potatoes was about all we could eat and the next day my husbands Gyro? Bright green. I’m never eating there again. Oh and of the 3 other groups in the place Friday night, 1 was getting wasted and just snacking, the other 2 sent their food back. Remember, ANTS!

Went there for dinner with a group of friends and I loved it. The service was super friendly. When we got there it was empty and within 10 minutes of being seated there were four other parties, at least two of which were large. The sampler dips are a good deal– you get 3 dips that are each served in the same size dish as ordering one by itself. Hummus was good, Skordalia was delicious(garlicky whipped potato dip). I could have eaten a second order. The tabbouleh and tzaziki were also good but the latter was a little too runny. My friend ordered the fried cheese and even though I am a full fledged cheesehead from Wisconsin I did not like it. Tasted like liquor. I had the falafel wrap– it was good and good size. My mister had some sort of sausage dinner that was okay. One of my friends had the Hercules platter where you could mix 2 or 3 entrees. We also had a red Greek wine that was really good and inexpensive. I will definitely be back for the skordalia.

I tried Cypriana for lunch last week and I enjoyed it. I think it is also a good value, so don’t order too much food and then eat it all! I ordered the skordalia appetizer, advertised as a creamy dip of garlic and potatoes. It was good, very garlicky, but nary a chunk of potato, so I guess they blend it. It was served with a dozen hot wedges of pita. It was great, perfect for sharing. AND I had the Cypriana Lamb Gyro(hee-ro). It was like a 10″ pizza, cut into 4ths. Big chunks of sweet peppers, slices of lamb, tomatoes sauce, covered with a couple of big slices of cheese. Very tasty! It was $ 7, a good value. Service was quick and friendly. Stock news ran on the TV, since the waiter used to be a day-trader. I’m certain he would have changed the channel had I asked. I want to return for a more conventional gyro, with tsatziki and no cheese. Glad to see good reviews on the gyros!

Have been here for both Lunch and Dinner. For lunch, the guys at the table ordered this sampler appetizer that had the stuffed grape leaves, the spinach-filo pie triangles, and the hummus. All of it was very tasty but the hummus was what probably stood out for me, it was creamy with a hint of garlic, yum. I had ordered the fried grouper pita with french fries(Only 7.95)… I know that doesn’t sound very Greek, but man was it delicious!!! The batter was crispy and when you took a bite you could see the steam rise… Man oh man! I’m seriously drooling as I write this! Dinner was good as well; I had the chicken kebabs and the spinach pie. I would say go for lunch, it’s cheaper and the food seems to be more memorable for some reason. PS.~ Order the fried cheese and watch them set it on fire table side, it’s pretty awesome.

I’ve always come for lunch, so I can’t really speak to the dinner selections at this point. Here’s what I can tell you from my 7 or 8 visits here: The skordalia appetizer is amazing. Get it, you won’t be disappointed! Also fantastic: The gyro, super gyro, the Cypriana gyro, and the kabobs. We love coming here for lunch. The guy that’s usually serving is always friendly, and the price is definitely right for these items. We have yet to be disappointed!

Gross. Ordered takeout from here and as I write this we’re re-cooking the lamb kabob because it was under-cooked and icky. The falafel is horrible. It was BLACK on the outside. I realize those things are tricky to cook, but come on… don’t call yourself a Greek restaurant and not know how to cook falafel! I would never dine inside, either. The inside is really nasty-looking. They have all their pre-mixed green salads in the fridge behind the bar.

BEST gryo i’ve had in Orlando. Thats one reason to go there. The other is that they offer a $ 5.95 gyro and fries deal for lunch! I’ll be honest though, if they stopped having the lunch deal, i’d probably not go back for a loooong time. DEF not bc the food is bad, its just i hate paying about $ 8 – 9 for a gyro. Baklava is good also. and a garlic creamy sort of sauce(hummus texture) with pita bread app was really good. Sorry, wish i remember what it was called. check it out.

Ordered the Gyro, it was subpar at best. I threw half of it away. The meat needed to be cooked longer and was chewy. The Greek Salad was okay. The restaurant itself doesnt look nice, the door was opened to the kitchen and it looked horrible back there. Overall, I have had a better Gyro elsewhere. I will not be ordering food from here again.

I have been here a few times, and have to say that the Gyros are really good. They have a lunch special(I think 5.95), Gyro and fries… can’t really go wrong with that. I did try the Super Gyro(Gyro with chicken and regular Gyro meet), and do not recommend, as the chicken was a bit dry.

Really three and a half stars. Skordalia appetizer: great! Kotopita dinner, boneless rotisserie chicken blended with fresh mushrooms, peppers & Greek herbs, baked in a flaky filo dough: Delicious. The mousaka, the spanakopita: Wonderful. The room is clean and attractive. The service was OK up to a point, mostly good but not overly solicitous. Where things took a turn for the worse last night was the sides: Green(famous?) beans: obviously canned, served cold. Cheese Potatoes: also served cold. Maybe the server could have asked why neither of us ate them, but she didn’t. Will we go back? Probably. Everybody has an off night, and there are enough things right at Cypriana Café that we wish them great success in this tough spot.

I have been to this place quite a few times, and haven’t had a bad experience. The service is friendly, the food is freshly prepared, and on Saturday when the water main broke in the area, they sent the staff to a local Publix to buy water bottles for their customers ASAP. My only complaint is that their Lamb Kebabs, which were the Saturday night special were a bit tougher than what I would’ve liked. But other than that very well flavored.

4.5 stars for Cypriana. We had ordered food from Cypriana via Grub Taxi, so we already knew we liked their food, but this was our first visit to the actual restaurant. This is a newer location in what seems to be a cursed building — I’ve never seen a restaurant last longer than a year here. Hopefully Cypriana can break that string. The interior *felt* like a re-purposed restaurant. The only thing really giving it any individuality was the giant mural of a Greek temple(since we were sitting below it, I couldn’t tell if it was meant to be a specific temple). Perhaps the spartan décor(see what I did there?) is a hallmark of Greek restaurants — every one I’ve been in has felt similar. I will also note that the booths were really cramped. We couldn’t sit without our legs and feet bumping each other under the table. We ordered an appetizer of skordalia, which is a sort of garlic dipping sauce that is served with pita bread. It was fantastic, and my wife commented that it must be filled with drugs to be as good as it was. The bowl was one of those never-ending ones and no matter how much we covered our pitas with, there was still plenty left. My wife ordered the Florida Grouper which was cooked in orange juice, grand marnier and banana liquor along with some rice pilaf and green beans. This dish was no short of amazing. My own Shrimp Mykonos was also outstanding(though, I think I liked the grouper better). Shrimp with herbs, feta cheese over pasta in a marinara sauce. We had thought about a dessert, but my wife decided to just get a cup of Greek coffee — their answer to espresso. It was a tiny little thing that she had to let cool down for a few minutes. She said it tasted like a dark chocolate that had been melted down — and it picked her up right quick. So, if this was all so great, why does it lose a half a star? From the time our server brought the coffee to the time we finally got and paid the check, 25 minutes had passed. Yes, there was only one waiter — but in the time we were there, there had only been four tables and two take out orders. The waiter walked by us attending to other tables not even checking on us or noticing us as we tried to catch his eye. When he *was* tending to us, he was very friendly and personable, the problem was just getting him to stop at our table. We will definitely be back here.

A new addition to the Cypriana family! I stopped in here for lunch today and was treated to an excellent gyro. There was plenty of meat, lettuce, tomatoes and tzaziki sauce. Yum, yum! I ordered a side of the famous(according to me) green beans, and they are amazing here as well! Yes, amazing green beans. They would be phenomenal if they were made with fresh(vs canned) beans, but even though they start with canned beans, they come out AMAZING. They in fact are featured in the vegetarian gyro, which I nearly got instead. Next time. The place was kinda dead at 11:30 for lunch(they open at 11) but as we were leaving some others were coming in, so hopefully the word gets out and this location is here to stay.
