Worst service we have ever had! Father’s day brunch and birthday for our son. The waitress literally dazed off during me placing my order. They brought us the wrong food twice. It took 20 mins to get drinks. When the food did arrive it was awful! My husband ordered b&g and chicken fried steak, I ordered the crab omelet. The cfs could be cut w a fork(ewww mystery meat) I asked for hot sauce to try and help the taste and after her 15 minute mad hunt she came back and asked if siracha would work… um no! This place was overall the most unotganized place I have experienced. Don’t waste your time here!

Unfortunately visit #2 didn’t go quite as well. I stood there with the 4 others in my family for 14 minutes before we left. Not a single person acknowledged we were even there. People kept coming in and yet no host or manager made an attempt to great people or seat them. Half the tables were empty and the manager just walked around doing absolutely nothing. It got to be comical with everyone waiting. We all just watched him circle to restaurant without doing anything at all. He’d look down at his feet when he would walk in our vicinity so as to not make eye contact with anyone. Too bad. The food was decent but we won’t be going back.

The place seriously reeked of fish when we first walked in. The waitress made us all(me, my husband and our teen daughter) extremely uncomfortable by flirting with my husband and making awkward jokes throughout our meal. It was SOCREEPY! We desperately wanted to leave ASAP, and when my husband put his credit card on the table signaling he wanted the check… she made a joke about us being in a hurry to leave… and then another joke about charging extra bottles of wine to the bill… She was also training a new server who took my husbands unfinished beer when he asked to have a second one. It was not a fun experience. The food wasn’t worth all the awkwardness. We won’t be back.

I’m a breakfast fan and they blow away most other popular spots in KC. The service isn’t as great as it should be, but the food makes it worth it. It bothers me how busy I see other breakfast places around this one with tons of customers while this one seems slower than they deserve. Hope they stay open. Biscuits and gravy taste homemade, bacon is awesome, and the Bloody Mary is tops! I don’t think they have an item on the menu that I don’t love.

Our Sunday brunch didn’t turn out the way we expected. Everything started really nice, our waitress took an order and advised us about the food cuz it’s was our first time here. We waited 40 minutes, but we were patient because place was crowded. After 40 minutes our waitress tells us that’s she accidentally threw our check away instead of giving it to the kitchen and that they gonna make our order really fast. We were upset but still were patiently waiting. Then manager came apologized and said that we would need to pay only half of our bill and that our order will be out in a few minutes. We waited another 20 minutes and nothing was on our table. We asked our waitress and she rudely said that they do the best they can and that she will check in the kitchen. After few more minutes we see her coming out of the kitchen without our food and she didn’t even look or come any closer to our table nor did the manager. We just couldn’t stand that anymore, we’ve been waiting for over an hour and they didn’t even offered us to snack with something while we were waiting. We came at 10 and left at 11:30 without eating any food. When we were leaving waitress of course didn’t even look at us and manager the only think he said was sorry, like these will make up for our not perfect Sunday morning. We ended up going to another much better place where we eat in 15 minutes. Obviously we will never return to this place again, not because someone forgot our order but because of their attitude and not even trying to make situation better.

Absolutely worst service I have ever had in Kc. Waiter was rude and specifically lied when asked question. Charged for item not served. Good was ok not great. Sadly I will never return.

Came for breakfast. Portions are perfect size and service was quick and friendly. The food was unique and tasty. A little pricy but we will be back!

Food was decent. Not good enough to overcome poor service. Hostess needs a basic lesson in economics.

Visited here for the second time today and was a bit disappointed. The first time I came it was empty and we had made a reservation for brunch. The food was great and we really enjoyed ourselves. This time, however, we did not make a reservation and despite there being many tables open we were given a 30 minute wait. To make matters worse there is no waiting area forcing us to stand awkwardly around the restaurant. After about 15 minutes I inquired about the open tables and suggested that a 4 person table could easily accommodate us(a party of 5) the hostess was kind and agreed so we were seated. We had to ask for silverware after our food arrived and aloe about 2 times for hot sauce and for butter for my sisters waffles. The food this time was good but not great. Not sure I’ll be back. I feel like this place could be really great with some minor tweaks but the service just soured the entire experience even though the food was pretty good.

For some reason I continue to go back to the Paradise Diner despite knowing the service will be poor, the food is below average and definitely not worth the price. I thought to myself how could they screw up breakfast… But they did! It started with a cold pancake, no big deal right? But what proceeded after they brought a new one was just comical. The sever ask the manager to talk to us, she didn’t. They over charged me. And it took 15 minutes to bring me my bill. One of the events doesn’t warrant a bad review, but when three different events occur in the same setting and when breakfast for 3 people cost $ 40 I feel compelled to let people know. This was my last visit for sure.

Like the way this place is decorated making it an upscale ritzy diner. Although our server started out nice and friendly, I just didn’t think she stayed as attentive once we place our order. I.e. Waited so long for the side of 2% milk I had asked for by coffee, I finally gave up and used to regular creamer on the table. She didn’t ever ask if our food was good or if we needed anything either. Having been a server for a long time, I just didn’t feel her table load justified the lack of attendance once the order was placed. Besides that, good food, slightly overpriced compared to most breakfast places but you do go in for the ritzy diner ambiance so that’s expected and fair.

Came here because of the long wait at The Big Biscuit. The strip mall that its located in doesn’t list the business name so it was difficult to find but it’s in the same plaza as Cinetopia. The plaza is clean and seems like a good place for a date as you wait for a movie. The restaurant itself is very modern looking. I started off with a Bloody Mary which was very flavorful but it did not contain much alcohol. The salt on the rim was delicious. The coffee wasn’t anything special and we found grinds in the cup occasionally. The Breakfast in Paradise came with two pretty good sausages and we got it with waffles. I got the Lumberjack omelet which was pretty good. It had caramelized onions in it which gave it a sweet aftertaste and it was sitting on two small pancakes which also added to the sweetness — I thought it was a nice balance of flavors. I took off a star for a slow service but the food was pretty good. Will drag my husband here for a second visit and movies!

We ended up here because Wooden Spoon(great place) was closed today and we were stuck in OP with nowhere to eat. I knew the place would not be great when we walked in, but I was stunned by how bad it is. The coffee was like water, the sausage gravy was like water, the biscuits were cold and hard and God help you if you order a latte. The latte was a cup of milk, that’s too challenging an order for a place that can’t make a cup of coffee. Even the hash browns that I was excited for(not many places to the graded, crispy hash browns anymore) were bad, mushy on the inside. Everything here is low end, except the prices… those are very high end. Stay away from this place. I don’t believe our bad experience was a one time thing, these issues are systemic.

This was the worst restaurant experience that I have ever had. Came in for a father’s day breakfast. We sat at the bar because we really didnt want to wait for a table. The bartender, Kristen i think was her name, was slammed with a full bar all ordering and taking drink orders for the waitstaff. Management didnt even acknowledge her behind the bar. We waited well over an hour for our breakfast. Just as we got our meal, the incoming patrons were told they could only do the buffet as the kitchen couldnt keep up. Several tables got up and walked out. Someone needs to show the chef, I will use that term loosely, how to make over easy eggs. They were overhard, hash browns were flavorless and the toast was toasted on a char grill. Could have had a better breakfast at McDonalds. A manager briefly stopped by to say our meal was comped, which it was, and we never saw her again. I am giving 1 star due to the efforts of the bartender, she was the only brightspot of this whole experience.

Eating out with a very restrictive allergy diet can be nearly impossible. Despite a crazy Father’s Day brunch rush that surprised us with a buffet, they were very accommodating. Jimmy made me an oil-free omelet in a clean pan, and they also made me my own sliders without seasonings I can’t eat. The food was delicious, and the buffet spread was fantastic. At the end of the meal, Shane came to our table to ask about our meal and ensure that they were able to accommodate me. Thanks for a great dining experience!

Very happy that this«old friend» reopened in Prairiefire after a long absence. Physically different from the old premises at Oak Park Mall, with bright, almost psychedelic décor, but with a menu similar to the original, with American diner favorites done well. I had the chili and a small Cobb salad and was happy with both. Exactly what I was in the mood for! Welcome back, Paradise Diner! Glad to have you back where you belong!

Very nicely decorated, modern look to the gem from the past. PBnJ restaurant group has put together some wonderful concepts in the city, grand street café, is one of my favorites, so when paradise diner opened up, we wanted to give it a try. We lost our northland location 10+ years ago. We had reservations for 8, and were promptly seated, given both breakfast and lunch menus. Great selection, but I was in the mood for bacon and eggs. Easy order, 3 eggs overhard, and crisp bacon. 2 of the 3 eggs were correct, bacon was far from crisp… huh…maybe too complicated. I didn’t complain, as I was hungry… but I did notice the manager making rounds in the restaurant, and having several conversations doing damage control. My wife ordered a salad with dressing on the side, but came out drenched in dressing. They quickly fixed it. It seemed like the waitress was overwhelmed for some reason and didn’t pick up on the order specifics. Plus she tended to «drop» things off, and left water all over the table when refilling water glasses. But recooking food, hurts the bottom line, but worse… leaves people feeling like, why can’t they get my order right. Overall, there was nothing that bad or that great with the meal, but I did notice on a Sunday morning with waits all over joco, people were not lining up to experience dining in paradise…

I have been here numerous times and real like it… let me count the ways 1) The place is local, vastly more refined than most local hangs. but local 2) They serve very good breakfast and for the moment you can get in for it, without a wait. Both of these are JOCO rarities! 3) Great happy hour 3 – 6 seven days a week.

My favorite breakfast spot in KC! We come here every time we are in town for breakfast and are never disappointed! This morning was exceptionally great, our waitress, Nicole, was so sweet and friendly. She had the best personality and made our experience extra special with her upbeat personality and humor. The food is always fantastic, I never know what to order because everything is soo good! We each had something different, I loved the sweet and salty pancakes. But I also highly recommend the Rice Krispy French toast, and the tacos. Definitely a must go to spot!
