Love this place! Their Tortas are so good! I’ve tried both chicken and pork Tortas, and I’ve yet to be disappointed. They put avocado, and I top it with some Tapatio. They also serve fruit drinks/smoothies that are made fresh and are delicious. Definitely try this place out. At first glance you wouldn’t think this place sold good food(maybe just good drinks), but it has been a gem since we discovered it.

So amazing!!! I felt the reverse discrimination but white people need that shit sometimes. I fault no one for that, but be advised if you’re entitled and sensitive! AMAZING juices and love the tortas. Love love love this place!

So I used to frequent another torta place that recently closed(and I feel horrible because I only know the place as the torta place and never learned its name) and lamented that shall never again enjoy a torta worth talking about and perhaps, even, become my new torta place(maybe even learn its name this time and maybe Unilocal it, because I actually knew its name and finally could Unilocal it. Mostly I accept that I am a burrito bro and I cannot convince myself to try torta. It was only a moment of serendipity that coerced me into my former torta place and reigned in my torta apprehensions, stringing me along for appreciation for tortas for 20 years. Without my former torta place, I was lost. I would visit my usual stops and see torta and sigh, believing no torta can be my new torta… I mean, 20 years of going to the same torta place. I had placed ‘torta’ as a heightened experience that made any attempt to try new tortas difficult, but I somehow found my way. Jungle Juice was the place my sister recently recommended as she was also looking for a new torta place(she knew the name, then she told me and I already forgot). She said that Jungle Juice was better. Better? No way… I first thought followed by obsessed. There is no way Jungle Juice is better. Sister, you’ve been going to the same torta place I’ve been going to for 20 years and now you’re telling me there’s a better torta place down the street. They don’t even have torta in the name! I entered Jungle Juice, not knowing what to think and still dizzy from my sister’s proclamation. That scent from grilled cheese sandwiches… that buttery boost from a hot pan… that’s what greeted me inside along with a bustling eatery. On their menu board were large pictures of decadently large juices and fruit salads I assumed were enlarged to show texture and detail. After asking about a few menu items I order an asada torta and horchata. She asked if I wanted a large size, almost with caution and I respond, «of course.» I confess, when I order an horchata from my former torta place, it was poured from a bottle and so when my torta came out first, I was confused. But the torta… The torta had been iron pressed into a hot panini grill seasoned with a year’s worth of butter and the avocados… There was so many avocados I felt bad… guilty that there was a sparse tree somewhere wondering where did all her avocados go… I got the answer… into my belly. There was so much avocados that I couldn’t see the bottom bread because of the orchard of avocados on top of the bread. Pickled pepper, onion, carrots and tomatoes completed the package with a savory sweet heat crunchy toasted softness only a torta, a really great torta, can only provide. But as I finished half my torta, they brought my horchata… huzzah! Those enlarged pictures… nope! Those were life sized. My horchata came in a glass goblet that could swallow a softball, easy. Jungle Juice horchata is a blended smoothie dessert that is huge and most likely, for sharing, which I discovered. That didn’t stop me from trying to finish and enjoying the frothy creamy cinnamon goodness only experienced here. Half hour later, I left fully satisfied that I put down a massive horchata and I found a new torta place.

Wow. I may have found the spot to return to for a torta. They were very affordable at under $ 7 and also super generous with the avocado. Produce was fresh and the pickled carrots was a nice touch. I know it’s most likely from a can, but other places just mess with the pickled jalapeños only. Lots of fruit smoothie/juice options and ceviche, shrimp cocktail availability. They might be the best torta shop in town.

This place is awesome! I came here for the first time ever for lunch today, and I just went back for dinner! Easily one of, if not THE best sandwich I’ve ever had and the drinks are killer! I recommend the horchata, although my wife really liked the watermelon. Honestly you can’t go wrong!

I went in on a Friday morning and the place was cosy and not too pack. I ordered an Asada torta and it was made fresh and didn’t take long. The meat was good and wasn’t try and filled with fat like many places. I also order a smoothie, but was disappointed. The smoothie almost had a powdery texture which was odd because it was made with real fruits.

Probably one of the best juice bars in The Oxnard-Port Hueneme area. You get what you buy and the juices/smoothies always taste fresh. The fruit bowls are amazing and always leave me full. Only negative is they still use styrofoam, which I would hope they would stray away from. Aside from that it’s a hole in the wall gem!

OMG. when i try to eat healthy(which doesn’t happen too often) i order” the engerico”. Mixed fresh fruit topped with cottage cheese, raisins, shaved coconut, almonds, drizzled with honey. my favorite. I cant pass up «the Tostilocos» and Tortas

They DONOT wear gloves to make the food, which is a health code violation! They also ‘re heat the meat before they make the tortas.

After school my friends and I were hungry and we were all craving tortas since the morning, so we went to Jungle Juice. I had actually never heard of the place until my friend mentioned it to me during class. Little did I know that the restaurant was literally a couple blocks away from my house on Saviers Rd. in Oxnard. We walked in on a weekday so the place was not packed at all, but it wasn’t empty either, however the place is small, so I did see a few people take it to go. The wall is gorgeous with a huge mural painted with tons of animals, hence the word«jungle» in the name of the restaurant. The seats and tables are all against the wall which makes it easier for customers to get to the end of the line without disturbing others already eating. As for customer service, the cashier woman was very polite when we all ordered our food, and the prices were pretty decent considering how big the food was. The torta I ordered was about $ 7 plus tax and I did not order a drink so that was basically my total. My friend however, ordered a liquado which was huge in my opinion and she even shared it with someone else and barely finished it. I was tempted to order one, but I knew I wasn’t going to finish it on my own. The waiting time wasn’t long at all; the food came out pretty quick and there was about 7 of us that ordered in our group of friends. The restaurant itself is well put together. The employees go and clean the table once you leave which is nice for the next customer. With that said, you can leave your empty plates and cups on the table once you finish eating. If you have a small stomach and order a liquado, I suggest you ask an employee if you can have a plastic cup to take it to go because the liquados do come on glass cups that belong to the restaurant. I also suggest you save your appetite for this restaurant’s food because they do pack the meat onto your tortas, burritos etc. which makes it even more delicious because a lot of places put very few meat and lots of lettuce, which I personally don’t like.

Our jugo de frutas mixtas and licuado were both deliciously fresh. My nephew asked for a jugo de frutas not found on the menu which they offered to make to order. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I’ll definitely come back!
