First time coming here and I thought It was great. Friendly staff and General Manager George came to table and checked on us and told us about the pie you could buy if you want .They will take your order and as you eat they make your pie so you could take it home. The waitress Maria was very fast at taking the dishes away when we were finished. We will be going back. I ate so much had to roll out of there..

I’ve noticed the prices have gone up and the quality has gone down since compared to years ago when we started coming. So I only come with my free meal coupons when I get them. Really wish they’d close this Hometown and replace it with a Golden Corral instead. But I guess I’m dreaming.

For nearly $ 20 a plate(plus your drink), I expect so much more… Food was mediocre at best, the labels on most things are wrong… Will not be coming back, hopefully ever…

This place used to be an amazing place for my family and I to come to but it’s has definitely changed a lot. The quality of the food is not what it used to be, I know for a fact that the pizza is store bought, and the décor has been the same for the past 20 years! The employees are great and even some servers are still here since I was a kid but it’s depressing coming here. The price for 3 of us was almost 60 bucks… totally not worth it. Probably not coming back here, upsetting to see what this place has turned into.

Quantity over quality, staff were polite and some very friendly. On a Sunday for three it was $ 45, if you’re not too hungry a nicer spot would be recommended.

I used to love this place, but the last time I went with my fiancé he told me to STOP eating my cheesecake because he saw the hair in it that I was about to put in my mouth! Not only was there a hair but it was literally in between the Crust and the cheesecake filling. Like it fell in there while they were making it! We told the Manager and he offered us a free meal«Next Time» instead of a free meal for the one we had already started eating and were displeased with. All I can say is I know these things happen, but this particular Hometown has a lot of Sanitary Hazards. I’d be very careful if you do decide to eat there.

Two stars because of a buy one get one free coupon. This was really a waste of money. Got there around 6:00pm expecting everything to be fresh for dinner. Well, lets just say it was not at all. The best part of my meal was the salad. I scoped out the rest of the food after I got my salad to see what looked good, nothing really did, looked old and dry. After I had my salad, I wandered around and grabbed what looked the freshest. I’ll just say everything was flavorless, the roast beef was closer to beef jerky, the fried okra was a ball of cold grease, the salsa bar was ok, but by the time I sat down the nacho cheese was already cold. The strawberry cheesecake has the consistency of reddi-whip. As my friend and I had our dinner and were chatting and around almost 8pm, they start bring out fresh food and the place is empty and they close at 8:30?! Really? Dont think I will be coming back here as for the price, you can get a fresh, sit down meal and eat something good.

First time coming here in years and it was horrible. It was pretty empty for dinner. They had prime rib, well it was rare and not cooked. We ended up being credited for 2 out of the 4 dinners we purchased because the meat was poorly cooked and other dishes were cold. The manager kept apologizing and asking us to come back. I do not know how this place is still in business, the bathrooms are DISGUSTING and the whole building is outdated. I seriously think code enforcement needs to check on this place. There was old food stuck on the outside of the containers one of the kitchen ladies was putting the salad dressing back in. After getting home, none of us felt well. Will not be returning. $ 12 per person plus more for a drink, I would rather pay for Applebees.

I have been coming here on and off since they opened. It’s always hit or miss. Sometimes the food is pretty good, and other times it’s crap I wouldn’t feed to my dog. I have seen live roaches crawling in the drink station, dirty silverware, and dirty cups/mugs. Yesterday, as soon as we walked in it smelled so old and dirty. Musty! I looked up at the ceiling and it was so dirty up there it looked like it was covered in soot! I realize it’s a ceiling, but its a white ceiling and should be cleaned when it gets that bad. I honestly don’t know how this place stays open, or passes health inspections. I won’t be going back!

This place rocks it for breakfast. For just about ten bucks, you have your choice of lots of different breakfast meats, thick waffles, fresh fruit, made to order omelets, wow! You won’t leave here hungry, that’s for sure. The server was real good about taking away dirty dishes as soon as we were ready to go for seconds(and thirds). I was a little disappointed that so many people just let their kids run around like maniacs, but that’s hardly a reflection on this establishment. This place has a club you can sign up for that will text you specials and coupons for even more savings. I recommend this highly for a big breakfast out that won’t stretch your wallet.

It’s time for the Health Department to visit the Hometown Buffet in Palm Desert. The food is old and Dry .The waiters are the worst. In town. Don’t need a lot of skills to work at this place. Lots of great places to eat in town. Go there! People that eat here and like it are fat and stupid anyway.

As a few others have noted, really, you know what you’re going to get by coming here. Still, for some reason, I was really wanting to eat at a buffer and I didn’t feel like paying casino buffet prices. So it was to HTB we went. Big mistake. Palm Desert’s HTB is a craphole. Dirty everything — floors, tables, you name it. Every step I took I felt like I was sticking to the floor. Food selection was awful and what they did have was lukewarm, chewy, or both. Serves me right for choosing to eat here. Save your money. Go to McDonald’s. At least it’s reasonably clean there.

Wow! I cannot believe how bad this place has gotten in the past few years. I brought my family for dinner and even the kids were so disappointed of the poor quality of food and service. Probably after this visit we won’tever come back.

First off it’s my fault for agreeing to eat here. Everything but the salad bar is off limits for me(no wheat no dairy), so I had to do with joining my party and finishing before everyone because I basically only grabbed one plate. Ok anyways food is always lukewarm and the taste is mediocre. Even for a salad I could do better at home. The actual buffet area was messy but to be honest I’ve seen worse. The waiters are very nice and courteous. Wouldn’t come here again.

I stopped going here a couple of years ago. The food was mediocre at best, the last 3 times we went. Third time wasn’t a charm. The restaurant was dirty, tables sticky, and the food dried out. Pass this one up, drive into LA Quinta, and go to Soup Plantation.
