The meal was very nice. Sirloin and grouper was amazing. You just need to get through the gate, no problem there just tell them where you’re going. Don’t let the gate stop you from visiting this little gem. They mentioned a summer menu coming which is coming out soon. We’ll be back.

I was blessed to attended a wine dinner last night at Packards. It was farm to table with wine from Gallo’s new Northern Cali wine. The First course, Florida Tomme cheese with local honey and cayenne pepper was perfect. The wine… eh. 2nd course, FL micro greens, just fabulous. Clean, refreshing. The wine… eh. 3rd course, Alligator Bottarga, nice but a bit too much breading for me. The wine… eh. The Akaushi steak was lovely, cooked perfectly but the kicker was what the steak was laying on. A sweet corn potato hash with Poblano Port reduction. This was a true winner, a stunner. The wine… eh. I’ll have to come back to the steakhouse to experience a regular meal and choose my own wine. Looking forward to it.

As a loyal golfer at Innisbrook and proud supporter of our annual PGA Tour event on property(And if you call it a PGA event… that is 100% inaccurate), I never miss an opportunity to eat at Packard’s. For those of you who don’t know, Larry Packard was the designer of the Copperhead golf course and this fine restaurant is connected to the pro shop for that course. The food is outstanding. I’m a picky eater and this is one of those places where even I try things I would never even consider somewhere else because I know the result is going to be worthwhile. Our lunch today featured a delicious garden salad, chipotle chicken wraps, vegetable panini sandwiches, bison sliders and lamb chops. One of my friends at the table today openly said, «I could really start to get into golf if more of the food connected to it was as awesome as this. Everything I taste is better than the previous item!» You don’t need to play Copperhead or any of the four golf courses at Innisbrook to enjoy lunch or dinner at Packard’s and you’ll have no problem getting a table unless they’ve already been booked for a special event like the one for the Valspar Championship that I attended this afternoon. If I lived in Palm Harbor, this would be my choice for a special dinner at least once a month.

Packard’s never disappoints. I have eaten at Packard’s several times, the service and the food are consistently excellent. This restaurant is a hidden treasure tucked away in Innisbrook Golf Resort. You don’t need a membership to the club to enjoy a delicious meal there. Up side: There are the usual entrees that a steak house would normally serve. But the one thing that really helps set them apart is their Game/Exotic Selection. On one visit I was treated to Elk, on another Deer. Both were cooked to perfection and it was a treat to try something new. They also cater to allergies. I have a severe egg allergy and need to be extremely cautious when dining out. Their knowledgeable staff has been able to help me navigate the menu and have done an excellent job of ensure my safety. Desserts for me are very limited. When you take eggs out of the cooking arsenal of even the best chef it is hard to come up with a tasty dessert. In order to not disappoint me I was given a cup of coffee with a small lazy susan full of chocolate shaving and other treats to make it special. Kudos to them, even Bern’s left me with nothing to finish off my meal. Down side: The décor and feel of the restaurant is dated. It almost feels like they designed the look in the 50’s and just haven’t updated it. This is not to say that the place feels in anyway unclean or unkept. It just feels like you’ve time warped back to the set of Dirty Dancing. Each time I have been there, usually a Friday or Saturday night, the restaurant is nearly empty. But I think once the secret gets out about how good this restaurant is that it will change.

Very disappointing. Typical average food from resort restaurant. Serive was OK until waitress forgot salad. ordered Prime Rib, their specialty– asked if end cut was medium rare. Waitress said she would check– brought two very well done servings– so tough, almost inedibel. Manager did come over and replaced them and comped desert but … this is suppposed to be high end resort

I’ve been here many times and have only ever had one bad meal(this past New Years). I typically split the bacon-wrapped shrimp with someone. The shrimp are very large and are surrounded by crisp bacon. This is my favorite appetizer. For my birthday I like to visit Bern’s Steak House in Tampa. Bern’s has very good Lobster Bisque soup however I actually think Packard’s is better. The bisque typically has an entire lobster claw in it. All of the steaks are good. Usually I order whatever steak I get au poivre which adds a nice peppery taste to the steak. My favorite side is by far the mashed potato or the baked potato(which are massive). Packard’s is a gourmet steak house done right. One steak house staple that’s missing — French Onion Soup.
