Disappointed with the food. Staff was friendly. Wasn’t impressed when the young lady opened a bag of potatoes and served them. Interesting. Will not return. To many great places to eat.

I’m not sure why the score here is so low. I used to live in Austin, Texas and for BBQ in California at this price, it was the best I’ve had. I mean, they even smoke their brisket for 14 hours. The manager was very friendly. It was our first time so he came out from behind the counter and helped us put together the perfect order. I highly recommend Dickey’s — Clean, delicious and friendly.

There was a period of time when this place had terrible service and the food was not as good, but it’s really quite good for quick BBQ. I recommend the ribs and the brisket. I also really like the fries.

Good food. Order online and avoid the wait, trust me on this. This is one of those places where you have to try it a few times before you find out what you like, then you can just keep ordering that over and over again. I have found that the brisket is the best so far of the pulled pork and the ribs. The sides are all good. The service was competent and made an effort ant friendly. I will go back and try again.

Another spot for us to eat. BBQ wasn’t our initial choice but it look quite appetizing compared to what was around the plaza. This was my first visit to a Dickey’s BBQ. I have always heard mixed reviews. Dickey’s is good. Dickey’s is bad. So know to experience it for myself. We walked in the eatery and was greeted from the counter by Travis the store manager. For some reason, it seemed like everyone was coming in to get some BBQ! Be here kind of reminded me of Subway. More to the effect of the left to right food/plate building you get there. It’s not as waist level as Subway, so you cannot really see the staff put your food together… unless you are tall lol Rosalinda and Samantha served us today. Very quick to put everything together. Travis was at the end of the service line, ready to cash us out. I very surprised to find that my he picked up my tab! Another establishment that supports the military! I ordered a two meat plate: Pork and turkey, with cole slaw and BBQ baked beans. i tried some of the original and sweet sauce. The meats were very tender. Tasted great. The sauce i put on top were great as well. But the sweet was spicy??? The do have a spicy sauce, but I wonder if they swapped the positions on accident. I love bread! But I was sad b/c I only got one small roll to eat with my food. I think you should have at least two or maybe a bigger roll w/your good. Be sure to finsih your meal with some self-serve ice cream! fin.

I agree with most of the reviews here, food is great but some of the staff need work. I went around 11:30 when it wasn’t too busy. I ordered my food for here and went to get my drink. As I am grabbing my bbq sauce and putting the lid on my drink a girl walks up to me with my food and just says, «here» trying to hand me a full plate of ribs and sides when my hands are clearly full. She ended up just putting it on the drink bar and walked away without saying another word. Talk about rude! I mean it’s nice the food was ready so fast but geez give me a minute to set my stuff down. The employees were also very loud gossiping and cussing in the back which I just think is a little weird in a «family restaurant.» Ribs were excellent and sides were good though. I’ll definately be back but the place really needs to do some more training for the employees.

I went to Dicky’s and had the Chicken Caesar Salad. The chicken had a delicious smoky grilled taste to it, the perfect compliment to the Caesar Salad. My husband had the three meat plate, he said the ribs were«fall off the bones good» my son had the pull pork and he enjoyed it. They also report that the barbecue sauce was very tasty

Fail!!! Actually the food is good. I love the spicy cheddar sausage, but, come on! Slice the brisket against the grain not with it. Unbelievable. I gotta go two stars for that because I paid $ 15.95 a pound. Other than that, service was great, restaurant clean.

Customer service and the customer is always right are not the motto this Dickey’s has at all. So first time going into the place and we tell the cook that! My husband ordered a pulled pork sandwich no sauce, but on the side. No one bothered to tell us about the help yourself sauce bar. He also ordered a small drink but when he got to the cashier she automatically rang up a large without asking. He asked if it was a small and she said no did you want a small? He said yes that is what he ordered from the first girl. So begins the drama instead of just deducting the price of the large and ringing up a small it became a major 5 minute issue of how much change he should get from the $ 20 he gave her. They had the calculator out tying to figure out the difference between the large and the small, then how much more they owed him for his change from the sandwich. OMG it was a Laurel and Hardy skit between the two workers. So my husband said how much was the sandwich and how much is the small drink let me do it in my head then told her she still owed him $ 4. It just wasn’t brain surgery. I came up to pay and she didn’t ask if I wanted a lg or small drink she just rang up a large drink and I asked is that for a large or small and she said did you want a small and I said no I want the size you charged me for which is? It’s like a bad dream dealing with stupid! So as we are finishing up and preparing to leave a tall young man walks up to my husband who is still seated and rather rudely says«you have a problem here?» My husband then stands as the young man is starting to posture and repeats it again. My husband says who are you? And no we don’t have a problem. The kid says I’m the manager and my husband said you should have stated that first. He kid says I just did and the bantering began. I said yes we had a problem when paying and my husband added that they needed someone who could use a cash register and could count. The kid’s response was she can count and she gets good reviews from customers and you don’t need to come back again. My husband told him that’s not really how you treat customers and called him an idiot, which is how he was acting. The kid then said this is a family restaurant and we don’t do drama. So you can leave now and never come back. WOW! Banned from a BBQ joint that’s a first, because the staff is inept! Which is too bad because the food was decent, but there needs to be a lot more training in all areas of customer service. We didn’t know about the ice cream, it’s a really confusing menu and telling them what you want somehow doesn’t translate into what you get without having to have the order redone. We will still go if we are he mood, but yay if one is coming to LQ it’s closer. I took the owners card and will send him an email stating how his manager is being rude and kicking people out of his business. Not sure he wants that kind of behavior running the place. This is definitely a statement on our everyone gets a trophy mentality. We just have to show but not really do our best work. *** Don’t think Dickey’s is sincere about their customer service they apologized and asked for my email and phone number but have yet to hear from anyone

This place is awesome… great value, excellent BBQ meats, yummy sides, great service w/a smile. I was fortunate enough to meet Dickey himself on «Customer Appreciation Day» where they were selling $ 1 pulled pork sandwiches, and handing out Dickeys own Cookbook. What a great way to market your fantastic BBQ joint, …I’m a fan! :-) Oh, and… ALL of the previous owner’s unfavorable reviews should be removed as they do NOT represent the current Day Dickeys!

New owners have made this spot even better. Pit style barbecue chain with a good selection of smoked meats. Daily specials are different all the time for $ 10. A free soft served ice cream cone at the end of every meal every time also.

Great BBQ and welcome addition to Palm Springs. I’m a big BBQ fan. I smoke my own meats, lived in Texas(the capital of good BBQ), and consider myself a connoisseur. I have tried many BBQ spots in CA and am always disgusted. This is by far the best BBQ I have tried in the Golden State. Tried the brisket platter. You can usually judge the quality of a place by their brisket as it is one of the most difficult smokes. I’d give the brisket a 9(out of 10). Tender, nice bark, good smoke. Took a point off for no smoke ring, and could have used a little more smoke. Mac n cheese was great. BBQ beans awesome. Only disappointment was the bread situation. A real BBQ stand will give you a handful of white bread. Dickeys has a petite little roll. it was nice but not good for BBQ. Ill be back and highly recommend.

The food is delicious and the restaurant is always clean. Under new management now and you can definitely tell the difference. So much better. The staff is friendly and fast! If your in the area or craving BBQ this is the place to go.

Dickeys is back in business with better staff, although I did place a phone order because I had no idea they officially had online ordering(they didn’t when they were under different management). Anyway apparently they don’t have the a «hold» button so I heard whoever answered the phone say«tell her to just online order»…like okay?! Anyways the gentlemen that took over the phone order was polite and took my order perfectly! The food is great but the chicken was a little dry compared to the last time I tried it! Those are my only 2 complaints! But overall service was a lot faster and in person the employees are polite! I love this place!

Unbelievable! Management hasn’t got a clue. I ordered the daily special and they were out of sausage. I ordered baked beans and they were out of them. I ordered Mac and cheese and they were out. I ordered a salad and they were out of lettuce. I tried to order onion tanglers and they were out. Not only was I not able to get anything that I had originally wanted, but they even forgot to put the cheese on the sandwich I finally did get. I can only suggest that Dickey’s buy back the franchise and find a new owner that’s capable of running the store. I have to admit that I was amused, but only because I’ve never seen such a pathetic effort.

If you have been to Dickey’s you know how good the BBQ… This one holds the taste standard. The problem is the wait is longer than any other and the customer service is the worst. The worker & manager(or perhaps owner) were talking behind the counter the whole time and I had to repeat the order over and over. I’m not sure if they looked me in the eye. In the middle of taking my order she left to the back. And in the middle of paying she left again to the back. Everyone was looking for ice… Not sure what that was about. So good food but poor service. That’s why I gave it 3-stars.

People were nice… Walk in on the left side & proceed straight ahead… Menu is above the place to order… I chose the rib plate… LOTSOFFOOD! You can totally split this meal… Well, it’ll do for a hungry guy… but two people with an average appetite can share this plate… Comes with six ribs, soft warm doughy roll, choose 2 sides… add a drink & you get a Big Yellow Souvenir Cup… There are teas & sodas… coke products… yum! Just in case you are an Ice Aficionado, there is small crunchy little ice balls… but upon further inspection there’s larger solid ice cubes too… Hmm that’s confusing… Food was great! Ribs did fall off the bone. Hubbs had 3 meat plate… Sausage, Brisket, & Ham… All were great!!! Yum! After you’re done, get some ice cream on the self serve machine… It’s a little icy not so creamy but good.

Not too bad for fast food BBQ. I got a pulled pork sandwich which was pretty good, a little burnt on the edges but tolerable. then I got the Jalapeño baked beans, two words, bland and gross! Worse than coming out of a can and I got waffle cut fries, made to order and they were actually good. FREE Ice cream, not bad at all. Now for $ 10.50 without a drink, thats pretty pricy and the fact I would of thrown away the baked beans, it felt over priced. I have heard a lot of people complaining about the line coming out the door and taking forever. I got there at 3pm which seemed perfect as I walked right in. Next time I’m feeling like BBQ, I’ll check it out, just look at prices and go from there. Also the whole staff was totally confused, the cashier was yelling all the time, staff rolling their eyes, really made it a weird dining experience. Sit outside if there is a table available.

Dickeys is a chain, obviously, so the food quality is the same as it is at all their other locations. What’s not the same is their service. As several others have noted, it’s pretty dismal. Sure, they’re friendly and polite. However, the folks in charge here clearly need to get things figured out. We’ve been here three times since they’ve opened. On two of those three visits, they were out of multiple meats/sides. Understandable, I suppose. Except for the fact it keeps happening as others have noted. That, and they’re running pretty early in the day. They’re clearly not preparing enough product for the day. And their setup. Bad. It’s a line, which means each customer doesn’t move until his/her order is filled, which can take 5 – 10 minutes. Think about this. For regular Dickeys customers like me, that means I’m not gonna bother coming here until they get their act together. For new customers like many here in Palm Springs — their first impression will be horrible. It’s not like this is a Dickeys thing — their locations elsewhere don’t have the issues this one does. It’s too bad Tooties In Cat City is circling the drain and Cowboy Way in PS is mediocre. Hard to find a place to sit down and have good BBQ out here.
