Tonight Ed gave us the best service delivery imaginable. We really wanted an outdoor fire pit table but it was not available. Rather than say I am sorry he opened up an area that was closed because it was Monday night and not so busy and we had our most phenomenal night ever at LG’s and we have been an LG’s fan since the mid 1990’s. Thank u Ed.

Visited LG’s on Valentine’s Day. What a treat! The staff and food were excellent. We started by ordering drinks which were the best martini’s we have ever had. We continued with a Caesar salad; made tableside which was also quite good. Our entrees were steaks which we were quite specific about how well done they should be. They were each delivered perfectly done to our satisfaction. Concluded with excellent dessert choices. The restaurant was quite busy as you might expect for Valentine’s Day but this had no impact on the attentive service and excellent meal we received. We will definitely be back to LG’s!

My husband and I had dinner here for Valentine’s Day. We had. A pretty fantastic meal, and would definitely come back. Our waiter(Chip) was warm and friendly, and the service was just the right amount of attention. We had escargot and calamari for appetizers. The escargot was delicious… a great flavor, with delicious bread. The calamari was good, just pretty standard stuff. We had the table side Caesar salads. Nicely done, lots of flavor, and great portions. For dinner, my husband had the regular ribeye and I had the 30oz bone-in ribeye. We had the creamed spinach and rosemary fries as sides(both were yummy) my husbands ribeye was okay… not great, but okay. It was a little on the thin side… mostly that just meant it looked a little scrawny. The taste was good, and it was cooked as he ordered it. My 30oz bone-in ribeye was amazing. It was a spectacular cut, nice and crisp on the outside, cool and Radeon the inside. The flavor was wonderful. I took half home and enjoyed it the next day. Great meal, and Chip made it a very special evening.

One of the Best filets I’ve ever had. This was the large filet on the menu. I’ve had a lot of steaks but this is for sure in the top 3 I’ve ever had. I recommend!

Oh, where to begin? I suppose with this: on Valentine’s Day, parking was nearly impossible to find — but there were plenty of seats at LG’s. Maybe that should have tipped us off. No decent restaurant should be empty on Valentine’s Day(which is why we usually stay home). But, we’re on vacation here with the family, so out we go. We order drinks. Our boys order ginger ale(which our waiter offered as an option). When we got it, both kids thought it tasted bad. It did. We mention it apologetically and the waiter says he doesn’t like it either — because they don’t have actual ginger ale, they make it themselves — with Sierra Mist, Diet Pepsi, and Angostura bitter. Uh, that’s *not* ginger ale. So we go with a couple of Shirley Temples. Those come and again they taste weird. Again, we apologetically say they don’t taste right. Now he’s exasperated with us, «Well, I don’t know what to do,» he says, like it’s our fault. We go with Lemonade. Fortunately, the lemonade is okay. I taste the Shirley Temples — they’re like soda water and grenadine. I say the soda gun is probably not working — and upon a return visit, he confirms that I’m right. We order: shrimp cocktail, a Porterhouse, medium rare, which we ask to share between us, roasted Brussels sprouts, broccoli with cheese sauce, and potatoes au gratin. While we wait, we see a Caesar salad for two being prepared at a nearby table. It reminds us of good old times at Delacey’s Club 41 in Pasadena. So we ask, «are we too late to get one?» «Yes,» he says. Nice. But, he offers to make it happen as a side dish. Okay. Let’s do it. He gets the salad going and one of our sons asks if he can help(as he did the night before at Las Casuelas, when we got the tableside guac and the waiter let him dump in some of the ingredients — okay, so we like tableside). «No,» says the waiter, «you can help by not doing anything.» The salad is fine. Not great, but okay. Then the meal comes. And it was bad. Here’s why: The roasted Brussels sprouts were clearly pre-boiled, then shoved under a salamander(broiler). The broccoli was undercooked — and came as a whole unseparated crown, which made dividing it between diners pretty awkward. The steak came uncarved, so I ask him if we could have it carved up so we can share it. Instead of taking it to the kitchen he proceeds to reach across us and butcher it savagely, angrily, and nearly spill every drink on the table, as he sawed it aggressively. And it was rare. Very rare. Nearly raw in places. And not particularly flavorful, either. Had good service offset the crappy food it would be one thing. Had good food offset the crappy service, it would be another. But it was neither of these. It was crap food and crap service. The manager did come over to see how everything was, but as I said at the beginning here, I just didn’t know where to begin, so I opted to let it pass.(As should you, when it comes to making a reservation here). Avoid LG’s. At least on Valentine’s Day. And probably all other days, too.

Started with a dirty martini which was excellent! Ate the most perfect calamari we have ever had– hot and fresh from the oven! We each had larger sized portion of filet mignon, cooked medium rare with bernaisse sauce(sp), baked potato, mashed potato, crème brûlée, and a blue cheese wedge salad. Excellent, prompt service. Very good!

LGs is one of my favorite places to grab a steak. This location is NOT as good as the La Quinta location. The fillet was not cooked correctly. The other food was ok. The service was pretty good until the waiter had another couple come in he knew and we did not exist. We had a young girl that didn’t know what steak sauce was. Sadly it was needed for the steak. It’s worth the drive to go to La Quinta location.

We went for Christmas dinner. It was busy but not packed. We ordered a martini(very berry was very good), an iced tea and garlic bread. It took about 20 minutes to get those. We ordered our entrees and after an hour and fifteen minutes, we decided to leave. The server never came back to refill the tea, get another drink order or even check up. This cannot be standard service here but unfortunately due to the poor experience I cannot recommend the restaurant. We went to Pomme Frite across the street and had a spectacular meal. I would recommend walking across the street to Pomme Frite for a great meal and great service.

I was in town on business staying at the La Quinta Resort and our Über driver suggested this place to us on our way into town. We were able to get in on a Saturday night on short notice with a party of 10. We had a little bit of everything — red and white wine, onion rings, calamari, french fries, mashed potatoes, mushrooms, brussel sprouts, and of course, meat. Everything was incredibly tasty. I got the 8 oz filet mignon with mushrooms. It was to die for! It was tender and juicy and delicious. The service was great for our party. I was never without something I wanted(water, wine, food, etc). There were a few desserts ordered as well. I got to try the apple pie(yum) and a chocolate mousse dessert(right up my alley). Overall, it was a great experience. The restaurant had a nice ambience and we were very comfortable for how large our party was.

Last weekend, sat. night. Three of us went to dinner thinking LG’s would be great. WRONG, we can’t say one nice thing about LG’s in Palm Springs. over 170.00, no drinks, no salad. My prim rib, other two steaks, baked potatoe, all cooked wrong even the bp was not cooked long enough. Service slow. We would rather go to a fastfood place. Sorry but true, stay away from the one in Palm Springs. Mitchell Hennings, Joe Velasco and Joy Ramirez. Review date 11−17−15.

Service was wonderful from the very beginning. We decided to start with the fried calamari. Nice flavor and the aioli dipping sauce was nice, we weren’t a big fan of the marinara type sauce. We had the French onion soup next which was delicious. Main course was the petite filet for me and the New York strip for him. Both cooked to perfection and mine almost melted in your mouth. I decided to do the chimichurri on the side which again I wasn’t a huge fan of. I did feel like an accompanying sauce would have been nice and the chimi was a fail for me. His was a bit more flavorful as you could taste the garlic butter a bit more. Both fabulous cuts of meat however. Ok now in my opinion the crown jewel was the side. Potatoes au gratin. FREAKING delicious!

A friend recommended LG’s Prime Steakhouse and I had the opportunity while visiting to enjoy an amazingly prepared Cesar Salad along with delicious steak with great company. The prices are in the mid to upper range but I do agree with most here that the service and well prepared food is worth it. Highly recommend this if you are looking for a steakhouse in Palm Springs!

Holly cow! And I mean it! John ordered the 30 oz rybeye bone in and it was a sight! Deliciously cooked! I had the filet cooked to perfection. Crab cakes amazing! The services are incredible. Jesus is an incredibly attentive server as the rest that are on stand by. Order the house specialty caeser salad made before your eyes with their signature mixes. We visited two nights in a row! Come here for a romantic or causal dinner. You will be impressed!

I’ve heard all positive things about LG’s since I moved to the area, so naturally I had to give it a try. Luckily, my wedding anniversary landed on a Tuesday so I expected we wouldn’t find trouble getting seated(made a reservation). I was informed pretty much any non-weekend day will be free of crowds. My wife and I were served by Jesus, who was very professional and knowledgeable about the menu. We decided on the crab cakes and table-prepared Caesar salad to start, and had a main course of the 30oz ribeye, 8oz filet mignon, garlic mashed potatoes, and Mac and cheese. I have no complaints about the food or service; our medium rare steaks were as delicious as prime beef gets, and the starters and sides complemented the meal well. The only reason I went with 4⁄5 was because it was juuuust a little behind Mastro’s in overall meal quality. I’ll continue to be a customer.

All things considered I give his place 4.2−4.5 stars. Reservations were easy. I don’t mind valet parking but I don’t like the self park street parking. We did find a spot 2 blocks away. The host(was) was fine and welcoming. There are a couple of bars, a nice outdoor gas fire pit and a refrigerator to showcase their cuts. The noise is at a minimum unusual for a place like this. Great for conversation. There are dishes I’d like to come back and try but I’ll talk about what we had. The onion soup was delicious as was the clam bisque. I had the 8oz filer and 7oz Australian lobster. The steak was perfect. Charred on the outside and cool red center. They take their steaks seriously as they also offered black and blue. The lobster, however, was slightly over done. I asked for sautéed mushrooms on it but it didn’t come. Someone had the 24oz porterhouse and it was done nicely. He also had asparagus sautéed in olive oil and garlic. Crisp and served with sauce. The scalloped potatoes were pretty good too. His wife had the prime rib but they messed it up and corrected it quickly. They specifically asked for rare to medium rare and to cut from the steak in the oven. Instead they brought a piece that was medium and probably sitting out of the over. My other partner had he ribeye MR with sautéed onions and a side of spinach. I’d like to go back and have the PR or RE. But I may go for the 49’er. A 30oz T bone.

LG’s Prime Steakhouse is the crown jewel in Palm Springs bevy of chophouses. I have been a loyal patron of LG’s for decades and it is an institution in the Springs. My father originally took me to LG’s to celebrate a birthday in my teens and I recall being blown away at the sophistication and class of the restaurant then, and continue to be impressed now. You will be hard pressed to find better service in the Palm Desert. Take a lady to the Springs for the weekend and stop in on a Saturday night(ask for a booth, trust me on this) you will certainly agree, this I promise you. I have enjoyed just about everything I have ordered on their menu and can attest to the quality of their red meat. The thick cut Prime Rib of beef is slow roasted to perfection and has the most delicate mouth feel you could imagine. The Bone In Ribeye is marbled, bold and absolutely delicious. For the adventurous I recommend the«Jewel in the Crown». A 24oz cop of Prime Porterhouse is dry aged in a climate-controlled meat locker imparting a nutty flavor and aroma that instantly transported me to the steakhouses in Midtown Manhattan. For the ladies only the tender Filet Mignon will do, with a glass of red. For a side I go with the four cheese blended Mac & Cheese. Palm Springs is a living piece of Hollywood history and nothing ushers in the feeling of old world class and charm as much as LG’s Prime Steakhouse for this Unilocaler.
