The employees are obviously much more impressed with the food than we were. The hummus dish was bland. They bragged about the crab cake which was average and a little greasy. When we mentioned that we’re from Boston and used to great seafood, the recounted that it’s great for being land locked. The Handle-fil-a was inedible for anyone who respects themselves.

Place is vey busy, for good reason — the food is EXCEPTIONAL!!! Great place, highly recommend w reservation. And if just you and your date — eat at the«chefs table» — fun experience overlooking and interacting w the kitchen. Pam was a sweetheart(our server).

This was the best meal we had on our trip to Park City. The menu items are creative and we’ll executed. The Chawanmushi was a treat. The best hot dish we tried was the pork belly, served with a hash brown and a perfectly poached egg.

Great food and even better service! If you are looking for a place for great drinks and small plates meant to be ordered and shared family style, then the Handle is a great choice! The servers and bartenders were very friendly and attentive. I will definitely visit there again.

Delicious food– we loved the ribs, oysters and cauliflower. Service was earnest but not polished, our server did not seem familiar with the wine and alcohol.

The food here is amazing and the service was impeccable. This is a great restaurant to go to on a special occasion if you don’t mind spending a little $$$.

It’s an eclectic menu. We shared the arugula(kale) pine nut salad, seafood risotto and the house specialty: ½ a fried chicken. The food is all very tasty and the wine list had some great options from California cabs to Italian montepulcianos. Also in the mix was their version of a Chic Filet sandwich called Handel Fil-A. That was fried chicken on a bun with accouterments.

What a find in Park City! I cannot rave more about the food. Sure the portions are on the small side(small plates and all) and rather expensive, but the food was off the charts! We were a party of 4 which gave us the opportunity to try the entire menu — almost. While everything was excellent, there managed to be a few standouts — the Handle fil-A, artic char, Brussels sprouts and the beef cheek sliders to name a few. The drink service was a bit slow and the drinks unlike what I am used to in LA(this is what you must expect in Utah), but I give them a pass on these minor issues. The waiter began our service by explaining that chef had put a lot of «thought and love» into the menu, and boy did it show. Next time I will try, «The Baller»!

Literally as good as it gets. This place was phenomenal from the moment we walked through the door. Our waiter was so genuinely helpful and his efforts were definitely appreciated by everyone at the table. From the start, he told us that he would let us know if we ordered too much(always surprised and pleased when staff do this — shows they’re not money hungry but focused on quality food and a good time) and told us that he could help pair our foods by course and with alcohol. We ended up ordering a lot without any regrets. There was not one thing that we ordered that I did not like and there were so many dishes that I wanted more of. Handle is definitely, by far, my highest recommended restaurant in Park City, Utah. Other things to note: There is coat check, menu changes daily, mostly everything is made in-house. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.

This place rocks. Chef Briar is without a doubt the best chef in Park City. And thats no small feat. The food is amazing, the beef cheek sliders are ridiculous. The desert that comes in the mason jar is the best desert I have ever had in my life by a mile!

Handle was recommended to us by a local, and we are so glad we talked with him. We sat at the chef’s counter which gave us the opportunity to talk with the chefs and get their recommendations. We shared oysters, sunchoke chawanmushi, besola and a seafood dish. The only dish which did not knock our socks off was the seafood dish which was a little like a bouillabaisse. It was good, but the other dishes were excellent. Also, this was one of the least expensive dinners we had during our vacation.

Recently, a Park City local told us Handle is the restaurant Park City has been waiting for, and they were absolutely right. Handle singlehandedly elevates the PC food scene with original variations of traditional farm-to-table fare, attentive, friendly service, dangerously delicious drinks, and charming décor. Handle’s menu is tapas-style, and as with any tapas-style menu, prices add up quickly. However, the quality of the food completely justifies the price. Our waiter, Bryan, recommended the sunchoke chawanmushi, a spiced egg custard topped with crunchy bits of mushroom and sunchoke, which turned out to be one of our favorite dishes of the night. Another highlight was the hot mushrooms dish. The rich flavor and chewy texture of the cepes was almost meaty, the hash browns were perfectly crisp, and the rich sauce tied everything together perfectly. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside yet wonderfully moist on the inside, spiced with intriguing, almost Asian flavors, and paired well with the smears of sweet potato purée. For dessert, our waiter recommended the caramel pudding, an unassuming dessert served in a Ball jar, but with a real punch of whisky-infused caramel flavor and great textural variation from from the sugar-coated chex cereal topping. We also ordered the chocolate mousse; we were unsure about the accompanying butternut squash purée, but it actually provided an earthy sweetness that worked really well with the mousse. Our drinks were phenomenal; the Cierra, a tequila-based drink, had a lovely smokey flavor to it and was definitely our favorite of the night. The service was impeccable — Bryan was friendly, well-informed about the menu, made fantastic recommendations, and anticipated all of our needs with mindreader precision; just when we thought we might like a spoon, he appeared at our table with two spoons.(Psychic!) The dishes were well-paced and everything was beautifully plated, especially the chocolate mousse. We also loved the décor, from the hanging plant wall in the entrance to the vintage diagrams papered outside the open kitchen. Handle is still relatively new, so snag a table while you can — I anticipate that by next ski season, it will be absolutely impossible to get a reservation at a reasonable hour. But honestly, I’d come in at 5p or even 9:30p to eat here; it is by far the best dinner that I’ve had in Park City.

Dined here with my family, half of whom had been here before and said great things about it. Love the ambiance and décor — warm, eclectic, great for conversation and frames the kitchen well where you can see the chefs serving up the dishes. After reading a few reviews I was nervous about the service but I was pleased, our waiter was efficient and timed the serving of our family-style tapas dishes well. Everything we ordered was up to far, here were my favorites: — the buffalo cauliflower(along with everyone else): holds such a great buffalo flavor and the fried breading really makes it seem like you are biting into some delish fried chicken! You have to try this. — quinoa and butternut squash: YUM! The quinoa is understated in the dish on the bottom but the butternut squash really shines with a fresh vinaigrette and pomegranate seeds atop. — mushrooms on ‘hash browns’: a crowd favorite, tender mushrooms on crispy hashed potatoes. — fried ½ chicken: I think this is what Handle is known for — and its good! Tender and great flavor on the crust. Overall an enjoyable dining experience. A great place to come with friends and family to order a few plates each and try it all! They also have a wonderful bar where they are serving up fresh-squeezed juice in their cocktails and a decent wine list. Corkage is $ 15 so I definitely suggest bringing a nice bottle if you don’t want to drop too much $$$.

We were so disappointed by this restaurant. It was rated very highly on Unilocal so we decided to give it a try. Everything we ordered was so completely average. I’m writing this review a couple days after eating dinner there and I can’t even remember what we ordered because nothing was flavorful enough to stand out. The only decent thing we got was the cauliflower dish. It also seems expensive for the portion size and quality of the food. Not impressed!

Small plate sharing, great food, great staff! Food was unique… buffalo cauliflower, ribs, scallop & clams, mushroom risotto, fried chicken, and a meat & cheese platter. Deserts looked awesome, but no room. Highly recommended!

Not sure why this place is rated so high. A great restaurant needs attentive service and food cooked to perfection. This restaurant doesn’t have either. Service — as other Unilocalers reviewed. It’s terrible. Our waitress, blond short hair, had no clue. Maybe it’s her first job. Compare to the dinner we just had at Riverhorse, Handle better start training the staff better. Couple examples why she wasn’t great. We asked for bread after seeing her serving another table, she tells us that she’s not sure if they have bread. Huh?! After 20min. bread finally shows up and it’s cold as if was in the fridge. When I comment about the bread being cold, the waitress said it’s sitting by the door in the kitchen, perhaps the outside temp made it cold. Again, huh? Food came really slow for us. My husband asked for a cup of tea while waiting for our entrees to come, the waitress asked if he wanted a dessert menu. We told her we barely got our appetizers yet. The service was amazingly awful. Food — we ordered the califlower that everyone raved about. It’s basically tempura califlower with hot sauce. You get 4 small pieces for over $ 10! Broccoli was tasteless and was $ 10 for five small florets. Risotto was also a very small portion. Flavor was great, but was over cooked. I have had many tapas. This totally disappointed. To say the least, we will not return to this restaurant. There are so many great restaurants on Main Street. This is not one of them.

Howdy cold weather lovers. Been here twice now and have had a good time both. First was a mid week event right before the ravaging hordes started arriving for the holidays. We had a small party and were served gracefully and with attention to detail. Four in our party. Second time was a coupla days before Christmas and a party of eight. Place was packed. Service was, as we expected, much slower and far more error prone. BUT, having lived here for a buncha years, you have to understand that every eatery has some ramp up time where seasonal workers try hard to come up to speed. They should be a lot better in a couple of weeks. If they are not, then it’s the fault of management instead in the crazy speed of the winter season. We shall see… On to the food. The place is mostly a «small plate» format where you order a bunch of stuff and share with the table. Some of the bites, however, are bigger than others; the sliders and chicken sandwiches were very big, but the cauliflower was not. Just about everything was well prepared, the peppers were fun in that about one in four are screaming hot and it’s fun to play pepper roulette. Fried chicken was great, oysters not worth it, nor was the hummus which was hard to find on the plate. The meat and cheese offering was excellent as they make some of the stuff in house. They call it «meat» instead of charcuterie which makes me wonder if they can’t spell or they think their customers are«ignant». In any event, an incongruity that strikes me as a red flag somehow. Can’t quite put my finger on it. Risotto was two orders good as was the beet salad. Not a fan of scallops, so didn’t try those, but not a bad dish in the list. The bread is great too. House made as I understand it, but they are very frugal with the stuff. Insist on more but you gotta pound your shoe on the table. Good wine list and the bartender(Matt) that I met was GREAT! Staff lovely when not busy and harassed when swamped. I suspect they will figure it out. Oh, almost forgot. This is in the spot that Jean-Louis occupied and I miss that place and it’s crazy vibe, but I think Handle is going to be a worthy successor.

Industrial/modern décor with a local twist… check Comfortable ambiance… check Excellent service from our waitress… check Seasonal vegetables with deep flavor… check Will I be back the next time I visit PC… Absolutely We showed up near closing and I was concerned about being seated for dinner. More to the point, I was concerned about being seated«with attitude» so near closing. But we were seated and then served by a gracious and professional server. Danni was informative and thoroughly helpful. I’d read other reviews about delicious food with poor service and was concerned about Handle. I shouldn’t have been. Service was outstanding. And the food was delicious. I enjoyed: 1. tater tots: they were large, crisped potato perfection(I kind of wanted ketchup, but decided not to ask) 2. brussels sprouts: shaved(not roasted), tangy, flavorful and well seasoned 3. risotto: creamy, surrounded by pea purée(?), topped with seasonal vegetable cooked with care. Best dish of the night. Best dish I’ve had in a while. There is a definite hipster vibe, but that’s the trend. And the tapas/small plates thing is happening here too. Yes, it’s trendy, but this place is putting out delicious food. I only wish that was a trend. If buzz words like hipster, industrial, or man bun bring you into Handle. This place is for you. If those same words give you pause, don’t let that stop you from checking them out. They clearly care about the quality of the food they are putting out here. And that’s what will bring me back.

Handle lives up to the accolades I have read online. My husband and I came to for our anniversary dinner and it could not have been more perfect. Our server was highly knowledgable about each course and menu item and new the history and nuances of each dish and individual ingredients. It was a joy discussing the food with him in a casual and friendly way — love it. Smart without any pretentiousness. In fact everyone we had working with us was friendly and attentive. Now on to the food. We ordered 5 small plates, a cocktail, and ended with each of us having a dessert. The meat and cheese platter was amazing. A generous amount of food for sure but we devoured all of it. I understand the items vary but they variety of meats, cheeses, breads, chips and pickles was just perfect. We also started with the cold grilled octopus and caesar salad. The octopus was tender, quite fresh, and grilled to smokey crisp perfection. We next had the Trout Sausage, a blend of trout with pork to create a perfectly balanced sausage. I could have eaten several of these alone. Then our final course was the Veal Short rib with a vanilla and huckleberry sauce and the Foie Gras platter. Both were generous small plates, rich with flavor and perfectly balanced. Fatty and rich with just enough sweet and sharpness to offset that richness. The foie gras was cooked perfectly, my personal favorite of the night. Finally do not leave with out dessert. The Caramel Pudding was featured in the NY Times, and was worthy of the praise. I would drive up the mountain for this dish alone. My husband had the chocolate Bunido that had a hint of spice. We found out it was a vegan and gluten free dessert, although its richness you would have never guessed. Handle is perfect and now holds the top spot for us in Utah.
