I’ve been going here for a long time, and my loyalty will forever lie with them– with their egg sandwiches, their hot heros, and their cold, My Hero always delivers, and My Hero is certainly my hero.
In all seriousness, their sandwiches are amazing. I haven’t been disappointed with a hero yet. The staff is great, friendly, and eventually they’ll know you by name. You’ll love it here, even if you’re not from the area. I get a turkey, bacon, melted american cheese, and mayo on a hero, or the Bronx Bomber usually. I highly recommend them!

I’ve been going here more and more lately, a buck less than the competition but somewhat inconsistent… when they’re on, they’re on though; good heros, good coleslaw, decent service… Tj’s and My Hero have been feuding in the ranks for all my years going, and I had Tj’s up top for years, I’m at my hero 3 times a month minimum now.
They are both pretty dope, Skip Quiznos, Skip whatever crappy deli you’ve found in the area, My Hero wins. They recently kick TJs butts too!
Wish they didn’t charge so much as they still sometimes slack on quantity, and are consistently inconsistent.

Awesome sandwiches! Great food and the people there are actually really nice. Been there several times, they all know me by name and even sometimes by my order. Live the sports theme names for all the sandwiches too. Favorite has to be the MVP. Recommend them to anyone looking for a hero!

What a dump. Dirty place, messed up my order. No whole wheat Hero’s on a Monday. I would never go here again. TJ’s is way better than this place.

Full disclosure: My family has been coming to this place for YEARS.
It’s a deli.
You go in, there’s a meat counter, a cash register and a rack of chips. Few sports collectibles adorn the back shelves over the meat cutter. A couple of boxes of comic books are for sale, and have been, for years.
The food has always been fresh and the family is always friendly and genuinely warm. The Grand Slam is one of our favorites and their soups are usually pretty good too. We’re also fans of their chocolate chip cookies.
If you’re in the area, it’s a great place to stop for lunch.

I have only had their egg sandwiches and they are great! They also conveniently took credit cards which was a plus. It’s def my go-​to spot for a bacon egg and cheese!

I have been to my hero several times, had them cater my parties at home and work and have always had success. Their portions blow tj’s away. When you get a hero at this place you actually get MEAT! not like tj’s where for $ 10, you get bread and three slices of roast beef. i could get that at subway for $ 5. And believe me, my boyfriend and I know food. I would take this place over TJ’s any day of the week.

I have eaten here twice for lunch and 3 times for breakfast. Breakfast has been good once, ok once and rwally bad once. I got an egg sandwich on whole wheat bread and it was a soggy mess. Lunch was really bad, the first time I got a cold cut sandwich, when I got it to my car the coldcuts were at room temperature, not very good and the bread was kind of plain and bland. The second time was a hot roast beef on garlic hero, there was so much garlic salt or powder on it I could not eat it. Tj’s from now on for me.

Great sandwiches and unlike TJ’s you can get white or rye bread if you like. Giant Styrofoam cups of iced tea are delicious and roast beef is the best. Usually come here and have never been disappointed.
